Installing NIMs and Rack Mounting
The XSR-3150 provides two NIM card slots. Perform the
following steps to install optional NIM card(s) and rack
mount the XSR. Refer to the XSR Getting Started Guide
for cord attachment directions.
1. Be sure power is off and power cord is disconnected.
2. Place the XSR on a static-free surface and remove the
slot cover by pressing it to the side and pulling it out.
Then, unfasten the screws holding the cover to the
chassis and remove, as shown below.
3. Attach the NIM(s) to the connector pins and fasten to
the motherboard with four screws, as shown below.
4. Reattach the chassis cover. Optionally, remove the
CompactFlash slot cover, as shown below.
5. Gently insert the CompactFlash memory card in the
slot, as shown below. If the card does not seat easily
but stops halfway into the slot, do not force it in - the
card was inserted incorrectly. Flip it over and re-insert.
6. Attach the rack brackets to the chassis with the screws
supplied, as shown below.
7. Rack mount the bracketed chassis, as shown below.
