Baby Hammock Dondolo
Dear parents, dear baby sitter
We congratulate you for pocessioning this most popular
hammock. It was on a journey to Borneo where my husband and
I discovered such a hammock in a long house of a tribe of Penan
people. We were completely fascinated ! The hammocks were
placed on the veranda, packed with the youngest of the tribe
and every person that passed by, gave it a forceful push. We
never heard a baby screaming! Now we’ve have had the best
experience with our little son. Comfortable, cosy and protected
in the hammock he quickly calms down and falls into a deep
sleep. Bouncing is a basic need of every baby. For an optimal use
of the hammock we provide the following
Instructions
You’re receiving the following parts:
1 hammock made out of Bio cotton
1 mattress filled with pure sheep’s wool
1 matress cover
1 bag for transport
1 strip made of ash tree wood
1 steel spring with safety rope and cover
1 removable chain link
1 swinging screw 10 mm
1 dowel 12/70 mm
1 nylon rope of about 2 meters with
breaking strain of approx. 150 kg

Instructions for fitting the hammock
Only attach the hammock to sturdy objects that can sustain the strain
(such as ceiling, poles etc). If there is any doubts we advice you to
consult a specialist.
Installation using a dowel: Drill a hole with a minimum depth of 70 mm
and a 12 mm diameter in the ceiling. The dowel must be pushed in
completely. Because the dowel will remain a permanent fixture, push it
in deep enough to allow the hole to be filled at a later stage.
Hanging off timber: Drill a hole with a minimum depth of 50 mm and a
diameter of 6 – 8 mm, but be sure to take into account the kind of
wood and it’s solidity first.
Attach the safety mounting
fixture in a way that the
open part of the hook is
closed (see picture)
Screw in the hook until the safety-mounting fixture is flush with the
object that it is being screwed into (see picture).
Check the strength of the hook by hanging your body weight onto it.
Regularly check all parts for strength and security and for wear and
fatigue.
Lift the safety-mounting fixture (see picture) up, so that the open
part of the hook is facing upwards.
Attach the steel spring to the hook or to
the rope, which allows you to adjust the
height of the hammock. Hang the hammock
as deep as possible. The safety rope must
be facing down. Be sure to check that
the rope is secured correctly.
Never remove the safety rope from the
steel spring!
Open up the screwable chain link then
thread the material through the middle-
upper part of the chain link.
Attach the chain link through the lowest
part of the steel spring and the safety
rope and then firmly close the chain link.
IMPORTANT: both the safety rope AND
the bottom of the steelspring have to be
attached through the chain link.
To make the hammock sit correctly, pull
the material through the chainlink until it
is even on both sides. Then place the wooden notch in the correct position.

Check regularly if the hook is firmly screwed into the ceiling and that
all other fittings are secured and attached.
Place the mattress in the hammock.
According to the size of the child, adjust the straps that are falling
from the hammock to make it looser or tighter.
The baby is then softly lulled into sleep through a gentle push. The
steel spring will bounce with 3 kg and it’s total load capacity is up
to 20 kg.
Washing instructions
The hammock can be washed up to 90 degrees (note: remove the chain
link first) Attention: after the initial wash the material will shrink by
approx. 8%.
Place the adjustment on the iron to the `cotton postion` when ironing.
The mattress can be hand washed.
Safety instructions
Please note that the weight carrying capacity of all parts is much
stronger than required. However do not load more than 20 kg on the
steel spring. Never remove the safety rope from the steel spring!
Check regularly if the hook is firmly screwed into the ceiling and all
other fittings are secured.
Never leave the child unattended. Be aware that the Baby Hammock
Dondolo is neither a toy nor a gymnastic device. The manufacturer
decline any accidents.
For safety reasons, we recommend you to place the hammock as
deep as possible and over a soft pad. Do not use the hammock if the
child can sit up, kneel or lift itself up. Use age: 0-9 monts.
Be aware of interference from older children or pets.
Don’t place the hammock near an open fire or other heating devices
such as electrical heaters, gas ovens etc.
Regularly check all parts and avoid using them if there is any signs of
excessive wear.
The Dondolo Baby Hammock passes official Product Security Testing.

Hints and Tricks
Attach a rope to the wooden notch and bring it up through the hook.
By doing this you can make your baby in the hammock bounce while your
comfortably sitting in the sofa and then your baby can easily fall asleep
without being disturbed.
In order to hang the hammock in different places, we recommend you
purchase the additional hanging device as well as the door frame clamp.
The baby hammock can easily be taken on journeys and camping trips
etc. Don’t forget the rope to hang it up though!
