Mounting advices Unik² GPS-Sentinel Car/Truck
The mechanical assembly shall be flexible and integrate the 4 provided silent blocks to absorb
vibrations
GPS fixing through the bottom and binding by 2 auto-blocking screws assembled on the GPS
Minimal dimensions to apply or the bracket installation:
For connectors, leave at least 4cm of free space
behind bracket
installed, leave at least 9cm between axes
The power supply will have to be protected by a minimal fuse of 3A and to deliver a controlled
tension ranging between 9 and 24 continuous volts
The main circuit breaker of the vehicle has to act on the positive but the
GPS must be directly connected.

Consumption under 12V: Autonomy with blacklighting “ON”:
-220 mA with backlighting by default drive (60%) - 4h with repeater

270 mA with backlighting ON - 9h without repeater
The driver and the codriver must be both able to activate the Alarm Sentinel.
Alarm button is connected on the power supply cable (3 points connector)
The button must be accessible for both crew members
Push-button is connected on the power supply cable (2 points
connector)
Buzzer is connected on the top of the GPS
An optional flash is directly connected to buzzer
Sentinel aerial cable is connected on the right top of the GPS (blue sheath with « SENT ERTF » inscription) The
connector is spotted by a blue point
braces given (COMPULSORY) on the
vertical roll bar on the right side, in the
top and the nearest of the windshield
IMPORTANT : Sentinel aerial must
« see » the road and shall be located
not less than 2cm from any surface (no
installation on the dash board)
The aerial must be fixed vertically on the right
side of the windshield in the top, at more than
5cm from any metallic parts
IMPORTANT: the Sentinel aerial must “see”
the road (no installation near metallic parts,
only stick it on the glass)
GPS cable antenna is connected on the right bottom side of the GPS
A TNC type connector must be placed under the car aerial, which is fixed with an M18 wing (do
not forget to make a 20 mm-hole on the roof for the connector)
If you mount two GPS in the same vehicle, let at least 1m between the two aerials.
