Front Radar Receiver
1Determine the best location for the radar
receiver. The best location is typically under
the bumper, or inside the front grill of the
vehicle. For the best radar performance, install
the radar receiver horizontally, with a clear
“view” of the road.
2Using the built-in mounting holes on the
receiver, or the supplied right-angle mounting
bracket, mark location. Drill pilot holes in the
vehicle if necessary.
3Mount radar receiver using the supplied
hardware. (If right-angle mounting bracket is
used, secure radar receiver to the right-angle
bracket first, then install bracket with radar
receiver to the vehicle.)
Note:
1. Do not drill holes in the receiver itself.
2. Thoroughly investigate location before
drilling any holes.
3. Keep all cables away from moving parts,
and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses, etc.).
4. Do not splice cable.
Radar Receiver Cable
1Connect the receiver cable to the receiver.
2Route cable to firewall, and secure with zip-
ties (included).
3Route receiver cable into the vehicle’s
interior. If there is not a suitable opening, drill
a 13/32" or 7/16" hole.
4Pull cable through firewall, and plug
connector into the jack labeled “Front Radar”
on the Interface.
5Pull grommet (located on the receiver cable
itself) through the firewall to seal the hole.
Use silicone sealant (not supplied) if
necessary.
Note:
1. Connection between the radar receiver, and
the receiver cable, must be located in a dry
location under hood.
2. Only drill hole in firewall after thoroughly
investigating location first, ensuring no other
wires, hoses, etc. will be damaged.
3. Keep all cables away from moving parts,
and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses, etc.).
4. Do not splice cable.
Display Controller
1Determine the best location for the Display
Controller in the vehicle’s interior. (Consult
customer if necessary.)
2Install Display Controller using supplied
velcro, or double-sided tape.
3Route cable and plug into jack marked
“Display” on Interface.
Note:
1. Make certain that the Display is clearly
visible from the driver’s position, and that the
controls can be easily accessed without
interfering with normal driving.
Front Laser Shifters
1Determine best location for the Laser
Shifters. For optimum performance, install
each laser shifter on either side of the front
license plate, with a clear “view” of the road.
If possible, center each shifter module
between the license plate, and the outside
edge of the vehicle. (see photo above)
2Using the supplied mounting bracket, mark
location. Drill pilot holes in the vehicle if
necessary.
3Mount the Laser Shifters using the supplied
hardware, making sure that each shifter is
level to the road.
Note:
1. Do not drill holes in the Laser Shifter itself.
2. Thoroughly investigate location before
drilling any holes.
3. Keep all cables away from moving parts,
and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses, etc.)
4. Do not splice cable.
5. Make certain that each Laser Shifter is level,
and has a clear “view” of the road.
Laser Shifter Cables
1Route Laser Shifter cables to firewall, and
secure with zip-ties (included).
2Route both Shifter cables into the vehicle’s
interior. If there is not a suitable opening, drill
a 13/32" or 7/16" hole.
3Pull cables through firewall, and plug
connectors into Y-adapter.
4Plug Y-adapter into jack marked “Front
Laser/Shifter” on Interface.
5Pull grommet (located on each cable)
through the firewall to seal the hole. Use
silicone sealant (not supplied) if necessary.
Note:
1. Only drill hole in firewall after thoroughly
investigating location first, ensuring no other
wires, hoses, etc. will be damaged.
2. Keep all cables away from moving parts,
and hot surfaces (radiator, hoses, etc.).
3. Do not splice cable.
TEST
After all components are installed correctly:
1Turn Passport on by rotating the volume
control knob.
2Turn vehicle’s ignition to the “on” position.
3Passport will cycle through a startup
sequence.
4If any error messages come up, see page 21
of the Owner’s Manual for details.
Interface
1Install Interface under the dash using
supplied zip-ties. DO NOT MOUNT IN
ENGINE COMPARTMENT.
2Connect black wire (-) to ground, and red-
striped wire (+) to a switched 12-volt supply.
(If Passport is left in the “on” position, it will
automatically power on and off with the igni-
tion). Use blue 3M connector (provided) to
tap into existing circuit if needed.
3Radar receiver, front Laser Shifters, rear
Laser Shifter, and Display Controller all plug
into the Interface. (Be sure to plug all cables
into the correct labeled jacks.)

Vertical Display Alternative
The Display Controller can be mounted
vertically, such as the side of the center
console (volume knob goes at the top). To do
so, follow these steps:
1Carefully remove the standard overlay from
the Display Controller.
2Replace the standard overlay with the
optional vertical one found inside the Owner’s
Manual.
3See programming section for changing the
text display to read vertically.
Rear Laser Shifter
1Remove two license plate screws, (top or
bottom).
2Mount Laser Shifter to plate using supplied
mounting bracket.
3Route wire through trunk compartment,
and into the vehicle’s interior.
4Insert connector to jack labeled “Rear Laser
Shifter” on Interface.
Tips
1. Do not block license plate illumination.
2. Do not cover any required license plate
information.
Installation Alternatives:
1. Can be installed inside the vehicle facing
out the rear window.
2. Cable can be routed under vehicle (keep
away from hot and moving parts) then
brought into the vehicle’s interior.
3. Cable can be cut if necessary for routing.
Reconnect and solder each of the three wires,
and seal with heat-shrink tubing.
Remote Mute/Volume Adjust
1Determine best location for the Remote
Mute Button.
2Clean surface area.
3Remove paper backing on the back of the
button, and press onto surface.
4Route cable and plug into jack marked
“Mute” on Interface.
