3. Constant Mode Setup
This chapter explains how to set up the constant mode. The constant mode is the basic chamber
operating mode.
3.1. Constant Mode Setup
The following procedure explains how to make control settings for the constant mode.
1. Get the constant setup mode.
Press the Constant Setup box on the main menu.
TEMP.
2. Input the target temperature (& humidity).
Pressing the field box next to Temp. SP and Hum. SP lays a keypad over the screen to
enable input. Make your input from there.
* If OFF is displayed next the Hum. SP, the target humidity cannot be set. Turning humidity
control ON will enable input.

PLATINOUS SERIES CONTROLLER MANUAL 14
3. Turn humidity control ON/OFF as needed. (For temperature-only chamber only).
Press the mON box next to Hum. Control to make the setting.
When the dot is yellow: Humidity control is ON.
When dot is black: Humidity control is OFF.
4. Turn product control ON/OFF as needed. (If the chamber includes product control option).
Press the mON box next to Product Control to make the setting.
When the dot is yellow: Product control is ON.
When dot is black: Product control is OFF.
5. Set refrigerator capacity control.
Select between auto and manual (OFF/20%/50%/100%) control.
Normally, set to auto control.
(Use only OFF or AUTO).
6. Turn the time signals ON/OFF as needed.
Press the mON box next to Time Signal to make the setting.
When dot is yellow: ON Time signal is output.
When dot is black: OFF Time signal is not output.
Reference You can name time signals. For details on naming, see “Name Time Signals” in “5.11. Chamber
Configuration”.
3.2. Time Signal ON/OFF
1. Pressing the Time Signal button at the bottom of screen to get the Time Signal ON/OFF
screen.
2. Turn the time signals ON/OFF as necessary.
Press the mON box next to each time signal to make the setting.
When dot is yellow: ON Time signal is output.
When dot is black: OFF Time signal is not output.

PLATINOUS SERIES CONTROLLER MANUAL 15
Reference You can name time signals. For details on naming, see “Name Time Signals” in “5.11. Chamber
Configuration”.
3.3. Product Temp. Control (Option) Detail
1. Press the P.T.C. Detail button at the bottom of screen to get the product temp. control detail
screen. The P.T.C. Detail button will not be enabled if your chamber does not have the
product temp. control option.
This screen is for setting the plus and minus deviation limits. The deviation limits are the allowable
air temperature deviation from product temperature set point under product temperature control
mode. The "plus" value will be added to the product temperature set point to create the "upper" air
temperature limit. The "minus" value will be subtracted from the product temperature set point to
create the "lower" air temperature limit.
When the product temp. process value is far away from the product temp. set point, the controller
will “drive” the air temperature set point to this maximum upper (or lower) deviation limit. As the
product temp. process value gets closer to the product temp. set point, the air temp set point will
change so that it is less than the maximum upper (or lower) deviation limit.
2. Press the number box next to Max or Min deviation to input the deviation limit values. A
keypad will be overlayed on the screen to enable numeric input.
How to determine the upper and lower deviation limits
If the user is unsure of what value to set for the upper and lower deviation limits, they can use the
following procedure for help in determining the proper temperature offset. (Note: This method
requires the user to have some way of measuring both product and air temperature process
values, such as a recorder or a temperature meter.)
1. Run the chamber with the selected test product to the desired product temp. set point
with product temperature control turned OFF. Run this “test” in constant mode.
2. When the air temperature has reached the desired set point, record the temperature
difference between the product and the air temperature.
3. Use this temperature difference as the deviation limit setting. Enter the value into the
“+” setting for product heat up. Enter the value into the “-“ setting for product cool
down.
4. Execute this procedure for heat up and cooling cycles in order to determine the upper
(“+”) and lower (“-“) deviation limits.

4. Program Mode Setup
This chapter explains how to set up the program mode.
4.1. Program Create
Programs are created by inputting or editing target temperature, humidity and time for each program step.
The basic procedure is as follows.
1. Get the program setup mode.
Press the Program Setup box on the main menu.
TEMP.
2. Select a program area in which to create a program.
Press a number box. Existing programs can be selected for editing in the same way. The
name and the number of steps are not displayed for unregistered programs.
* ROM programs are for viewing only.
