Equipment Enclosures Manual 1
CAB-2, CAB-3/CAB-3F, CAB-6F Equipment Enclosures
Description
The CAB-2 and 3 are surface mounted enclosures. The CAB 3F and 6F
are semi-flush mounted enclosures. All are for the installation of control
hardware. All cabinets are UL listed, constructed of 16 gauge welded
steel, and feature mounting rails with speed nuts for mounting modules.
The surface mounted enclosures feature a removable door which is
hinged on the left side. The doors on the semi-flush mounted
enclosures are integral to the finished frame. All doors are provided
with a Lexan insert for viewing system indicators and are secured with
a standard key lock assembly.
All enclosures feature mounting studs for mounting a door tamper
switch, which is required for security panel operations. Door
assemblies and back boxes are painted white. Red enclosures may be
specified by adding an “R” suffix to part and model numbers.
Electrical knockouts are provided on the top, bottom, and sides of the
back box, and keyhole mounting slots are located on the back. The
removable backplane permits mounting and wiring of control panel
components out of the back box for bench testing and facilitates easy
installation. Space for batteries is provided at the bottom of the
enclosure.
Application
The CAB-2, 3, 3F, and 6F enclosures are designed for installing
equipment in surface or semi-flush enclosures.
Note: Do not install conduit in bottom of enclosure.

Description
The CB17, 31, and 45 semi-flush mounted enclosures are functional and
secure cabinets for the installation of control hardware. All cabinets are
UL Listed, constructed of 16 gauge steel and feature a space frame 19"
rack mount which facilitates equipment installation, wiring and servicing.
Mounting rails with speed nuts are also provided for the RMOF rack
mount option faceplate, which is used to mount a CM1/2(N) with RM
option. The space frame rack mount is hinged on both sides with spring
loaded pin hinges. This allows total access to all points of the equipment
mounted on the back plane as well as that installed directly in the rack.
The removable enclosure door is secured in an integral pan frame, and
may be hinged on either the left or right side. The door is provided with a
Lexan insert for viewing system annunciators, and is secured with a
standard key lock assembly. Mounting studs are provided for mounting a
door security switch, which is be required for security panel operations.
Backboxes are finished in a matte black finish, door assemblies are
painted white. Electrical knockouts are provided on the top, bottom and
sides of the backbox, and keyhole mounting slots are located on the back.
Note: These cabinets do not dedicate space for batteries.
Application
The CB17, 31, and 45 enclosures are designed for installing 19" rack
mounted equipment in semi-flush, wall mounted enclosures. Installation
of a CM1/2(N) with RM option requires a RMOF rack mount faceplate.

mounting of a single module. The MFC is equipped with a quick
release cover with captive mounting screws. RZB module mounting
studs and conduit knock-outs are provided for easy installation. The
cabinet is manufactured from 16 gauge steel, and is painted red.
Application
The MFC is designed for remote mounting of an RZB12-6 or UIO-12
module. Low profile, full footprint modules may also be mounted in
the MFC using the RZMP mounting plate adapter.
Installation
Installation must allow for cable and wire access and for removal of the
front cover.
Use of the RZMP mounting plate adapter will permit low profile, full
footprint modules such as an ARM-8 (without cover) to be mounted in
the MFC.
