ColorSource Relay and ColorSource Transmitter

ColorSource Relay manages power switching and DMX for a connected chain
of equipment. Relays fire at zero cross and automate a randomized turn on
delay up to 2 seconds to minimize effects of inrush while turning on multiple
fixtures on a circuit or many circuits in a system.
Relay activation can be triggered in one of three ways:
•Auto Mode - relay turns on when DMX/ RDM input is detected. Relay
turns off five minutes after data is last detected. (Default Mode)
•DMX Mode - relay turns on when DMX address 512 is at or above 50%
and turns off when below 50%. The relay can also be patched via RDM
to an address between 1 and 511. Changing the address from 512
disables the turn on delay function of the relays.
•RDM Mode - relay turns on when it receives an RDM command to turn
on. The relay remains on until it receives an RDM command to turn off,
or until power is cycled to the unit.

Receiver Software
Software is available online at etcconnect.com and updated via a USB drive at
boot. The USB drive should be formatted with FAT.
To update a wired DMX relay, one file, which begins with “CSRD”, is
required.
To update a wireless DMX relay, two files are required on a USB drive:
1: the firmware file for the relay, which starts with “CSRW”
2: the firmware file for the relay’s radio coprocessor, which starts with
“5792”

While the relay is updating, the power LED can be used for troubleshooting:
•fast blinking - looking for USB drive
•red - upgrade failure
•cyan - waiting for USB drive connection (no app loaded)
•magenta - file not found
Transmitter Software
Updating ColorSource Transmitters requires UpdaterAtor software in
conjunction with an ETC Gadget, Gadget2, USB Whip, ETC Net3 Gateway, or
Console. UpdaterAtor software is available from etconnect.com.
Wireless ID Settings
The wireless IDs for the transmitter and receiver must match. The color of the
power LED changes to identify which ID is being used. The factory default ID
is 1.
For third party product compatibility with City Theatrical SHoW DMX
products, reference the chart below.
Note:
The Relay LED will blink during radio programming,
then the DMX LED will blink during CPU programming.
Note:
Updating Transmitters takes 10-20 minutes each.

Remote Device Management (RDM) allows for remote configuration of
several device properties, and allows you to view several read-only properties:
• RDM Device Count
•TypeDescription
• Product Details List
• Manufacturer
• Defaults
• Software Version
• Sensors List and Values
• Output Power (Instantaneous Voltage and Current w/ min/max record)
Any RDM controller, such as Net3 Concert or Eos Family software, can be
used to configure these options (default values are in bold):
• Name - ColorSource Relay
• RDM Enable - 01 = enable, 00 = disable (enable/disable RDM Traffic on
the Wireless Bridge's DMX output)
• DMX Address - 1-512
• Threshold - 1-99%, default is 50%
• DMX Loss Time - 1-30 minutes, default is 5 minutes
• Max Turn On Delay - 0-30 seconds, default is 2seconds
• Relay Personality/ Mode - 01 = Auto Mode, 02 = DMX Mode, 03 =
RDM Mode
• Wireless ID - editable if ID is set to C on UI, 1=201, 2=102, 3=117,
4=133, 5=149, 6=165
• Identify - 01 = blink all LEDs, 00 = deactivate, 1 min timeout
