Manual Overview
This manual is intended for the use of theAllAmerican Scoreboard owners and users. Read this
manual carefully before starting the equipment.
This manual contains important information for operation and maintenance of the equipment. It also
contains important instructions to prevent accidents, personal injury and/or serious damage prior to or
during operation of the equipment.
Familiarize yourself thoroughly with the function and operation of this equipment and strictly observe the
directions given. If you have any questions or need further details on specic aspects related to the AAS
system, please do not hesitate to contact us.
In this manual you will nd three levels of agged notes or warnings.
WARNING! THE WARNING MESSAGE IS USED WHEN A LIFE
THREATENING SITUATION MAY ARISE OR PERSONAL INJURY CAN
RESULT.
CAUTION! The caution message is used when there is a danger of damage
to theequipment,materials,or other important information; such as Warranty
issues.
NOTE: The Note message is used to give operational information and useful tips.

2.0 Console Keypad Functions
Turn On the Keypad console press
ON
OFF
once to turn on and again to turn off.
When the Console Keypad is turned on, the LCD screen should become active.
2.1 Initializing the System at every Start-up.
To congure your console to function with the 7499 Game Timer, locate the CODE on the Keypad console
(upper right corner in Figure 2); the code 67 is used for illustration. Press

. This step is required each time the console is turned on.
2.2 Dimming Operation
The LED intensity can be adjusted by pressing
DIM
. Multiple presses of the “DIM” button will cycle
through the different brightnesses.
1.0 Keypad Console
TheKeypad Console hasatouch sensitive keypadthat allows theoperatorto enter allpertinent informa-
tion, It then sends the information to the Controller Assembly within the sign by way of radio signal or
hard-wire.A LCD screen displays the information that is being sent to the Timer. The Keypad you have
will depend on the model of Scoreboard and interface system you have. If a Keypad Slipsheet needs to
be replaced, printable slipsheets can be downloaded from www.allamericanscoreboards.com.
CAUTION: To protect the control from damage, it is advisable to disconnect
the control and store in a dry secure area when not in use.

2.3 Timer Operation
The MP-7499 has two timers that can be set for up to 99 seconds. These timers will always display the
same time. Use
SET

to set the two different timers according the following example.
Example: Set TIMER 1 to 45 seconds
1. Time must be set to OUT by pressing

. If timer is set to IN (timer is counting), TIMER 2 cannot
be set until TIMER 1 counts down to 0.

To start the timer, press

To reset a timer, press

. The respective timer will reset to original set time.
The MP-7499 counts down by default. To change the timer to count up, stop the timer and press
UP
DOWN
.
If a time other than the original time is needed, follow the following example.
Example: Timer is stopped at 23 seconds, but needs to be reset to 24 senconds.

If the game time remaining is less than the delay of game time, press
BLANK
and the TIMER LEDs on
the MP-7499 will turn off. NOTE: The timer on on the LCD screen of the console will continue to count
down.

3.0 Maintenance & Troubleshooting
For cleaning, use a window type product with a soft cotton cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use a power washer, solvent product or abrasive
materials for cleaning board faces.
For cleaning the console, use a damp cloth periodically.
3.1 Table I: Quick Reference Problem/Cause
WARNING! USE A LOCK OUT/TAG OUT ON CIRCUIT BREAKERS OR
“POWER ON/OFF” SWITCHES WHEN PERFORMING INSTALLATION,
REPAIRS OR MAINTENANCE.
Follow the troubleshooting guides whenever possible prior to contacting customer
service. If the problem you are seeing is not covered in the guide, please contact the
customer service department as soon as possible. Refer to the diagrams included in
section 6 for assistance in troubleshooting.

Take Console 10 to 25 feet from the Scoreboard and test
again. Check antenna connections and tighten if necessary,
both in the Scoreboard and in the Console. CAUTION: the
antenna connection at the radio can be easily broken. Push
or pull the connector STRAIGHT on or off!

4.0 Safety Information
The owner of the All American Scoreboard is responsible for safe operation and repair. He therefore is
obliged to familiarize operating personnel with the contents of this manual and make them aware of all
possible hazards.
NOTE: When using this equipment, always follow the manufacturer’s instructions
for safe operation. In case of emergency, please telephone Technical Support or a
qualied service technician.
Do not operate the sign until it is completely assembled and installed per the instructions supplied by
AAS.
AAS recommendsthat your mainpower beinstalled by alicensed electrician inaccordance withthe local
building and electrical codes.
All equipment must be grounded in accordance with the local building and electrical codes. AAS recom-
mends Earth Link Ground.
If any part of the Scoreboard equipment is malfunctioning or has been damaged, cease operation and
consult with AAS Technical Support or qualied service technician before further use.
Use only AAS specied or recommended replacements parts.

5.0 Warranty
Five Year Limited Warranty
Non-compliance with procedures of Installation, Safety, Operation and/or Maintenance practices
dened in this manual may result in a Warranty issue.
Thiswarrantyextendstoandis enforceableby onlytheoriginalconsumerpurchaserandonlyforthe
period (during the applicable term) which the product remains in the possession of the original con-
sumer purchaser. “Original consumer purchaser” means the person who rst purchased the product
covered by this warranty other than for purpose of resale. This warranty does not apply if it is found
that at any time the equipment has not been used for its intended purpose.

are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference
when the equipment is operated in a commercial environment. This equipment
generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and
used in accordance with Owner’s Manual, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. Operation of this equipment in a residential area can
cause harmful interference in which case the user will be required to correct the
