Caring For Your Bike
Best Practices
Bike Care
Battery Care
Warranty
Best Practices
Before your rst ride
1. Charge up your battery
• Ensure that your battery is fully charged before your
rst ride. Long-term storage of the bike while shipping
may have depleted the charge level.
2. Ride safe
• Always follow local regulations, including reector
placement and laws on where to ride your bike.
• Laws may vary from country to country. As these laws
may change over time, always keep yourself up to date
on the latest regulations.
• Take it slow while you get used to your new bike. The
riding feel may differ from bikes that you’ve ridden in
the past.
3. Understand the brakes
• Brakes may take some time to bed in. The general rule
of thumb is to come to a complete stop at least 40
times. Avoid fast riding before this.
• The brakes may get hot after prolonged use. Allow
some time for them to cool down if riding on
challenging roads.
• Braking power may be reduced in wet conditions.
• Braking power may differ from bikes that you’ve ridden
in the past due to the extra weight and different
weight distribution.
Before every ride
1. Squeeze brakes to make sure that they are working
perfectly.
2. Check tyre pressure and treads to ensure they are in good
working condition.
3. Check chain and ensure that it is clean and has enough
lubrication.
4. Wear protective gear (eg. helmets and reective clothing if
riding at night).
5. Do not hang heavy objects on the handlebars as this may
affect your ability to safely navigate the bike.
6. Check weather conditions and ride safely accordingly.
This includes understanding that braking power may be
reduced in wet conditions.

Bike Care
Cleaning
Use a damp cloth to wipe down the bike
to keep it clean. For a thorough clean,
we recommend using only cleaning
products approved for bikes.
Do not use a high pressure water hose or
steamer to clean the bike. There may be
a risk of damage to the bike.
Servicing
You should service your bike once a year
or every 1,000 km - whichever comes rst.
Look out for any cracks or discolouration,
which may indicate that the component
has reached its end-of-life and needs to
be replaced.
Do not try to replace any electrical
components by yourself. There may be a
risk of injury of damage to the bike.
Brake pads
The brake pads should be checked
every 1,000 km or if you feel any notable
decrease in braking power.
Every brake pad has a visual indicator -
replace them when a small blue circle is
visible. This indicates that the surface has
worn away through use.
Compatible brake pads with the EVIE S1
and T1 are:
• Shimano B01S, B05S
• Tektro A11TS, A10YS, P20.11,
P21.11, E10.11, E11.11
Brake uid should be topped up with
mineral oil only.
Chain
The chain should be lubricated from
time-to-time with a chain lubricant.
Excess lubricant should be wiped off
with a clean cloth.
Link chains should be cleaned
occasionally with a rm brush.
Tyres
You should change the tyres if you notice
the tyre tread wear is not even or if there
are sections of the tyre much more worn
than others.
The tyres can be replaced with any off-
the-shelf 27.5”x 1.95” tyres.
Motor
The motor is electronically limited to
250W and provides assistance at speeds
up to 25 km/h to comply with EU
regulations.
The recommended operating
temperature is between -10°C to +60°C.
Functionality may be limited outside this
range for safety purposes.
Do not attempt to replace the motor by
yourself.
Battery Care
Maximising battery life
Always avoid leaving your battery fully
discharged (empty) for a prolonged
time. Charge your battery occasionally
even if you do not plan to use your bike
for a long time.
Store your bike in a dry environment at
room temperature if not in use for a long
time.
Failure to follow these steps will cause
the battery to go into deep discharge
(a mandatory safety precaution). The
battery will need to be replaced if this
happens, which is not covered under
warranty.
For best results, ensure that the battery
is charged to full from empty at least
once every 8 weeks.
Charging
Always use an EVIE branded charger
to charge your battery. We cannot
guarantee the safety of 3rd party
chargers.
Always charge in dry conditions and
away from direct sunlight.
Do not expose your charger to moisture
or water.
Always keep the charger out of reach of
children.
Warnings
Do not attempt to remove the battery
by yourself without the assistance of a
trained professional.
Do not disassemble or subject the
battery to strong forces.
Do not use a defective charger or
battery.
Best practises
Your bike is estimated to have a range of
up to 70 km. However, please note that
achieved range may vary signicantly
depending on riding conditions, rider
load, and temperature.
A range exceeding 70 km is achievable
on at terrain with a new battery, load of
80 kg, and an ambient temperature of
20°C.
Colder ambient temperature will result in
lower range. This is true of all lithium-ion
batteries.
Riding up steep hills will result in lower
range as more power is required to drive
the motor.
Use a lower pedal assist level for an
extended range.
Keep your tires fully-inated to achieve
optimal range.
