Thank you for choosing EVO Gimbals as your camera stabilizaon soluon! We know that buying a new
product can be very excing and we are sure that you probably can not wait to use your new gimbal! Before
you start PLEASE read this manual and become familiar with your gimbal’s components and operang modes.
We highly encourage everyone to also watch our great tutorial videos on our website as a supplement to this
manual.
Your Gimbal comes with (2) lithium Ion baeries. Here are some simple safety precauons you can take to
ensure the best performance for your gimbal’s baery.
- Always handle your gimbal with care.
- Always store your gimbal in a cool dry and well venlated area.
- Never throw your baeries or gimbal in the trash! Always be sure to recycle them at the appropriate
baery recycling center.
Lithium-Ion baeries should not be exposed to extreme temperatures. Heat and cold stress the baeries.
Always charge and use your baeries at room temperature. If the baery has been exposed to extreme
temperatures, allow the baery to return to room temperature before charging it or using it.

Your EVO GP-PRO has an electronic gyroscope that can be affected by temperature. Always ensure
proper startup calibraon to ensure the best performance. Please refer to our tutorials videos on
EVOGimbals.com for more informaon on proper setup, startup and maintenance calibraon.
1. Unscrew to two thumb screws on the back
of the acon camera mount.
2. Slide the acon camera all the way unl it
touches the Tilt Motor. Tighten the the two
thumb screws.

UNPACK THE EVO GP-PRO
Thank you for choosing EVO Gimbals! Before you begin please be sure to unpack your GP-PRO and

Warning
Plug the camera charging cable into
your camera and into the camera
charging port at the base of the lt
motor.

1. Unscrew to two thumb screws on the back
of the acon camera mount.
2. Slide the acon camera all the way unl it
touches the Tilt Motor. Tighten the the two
thumb screws.

4INSTALL THE BATTERIES
Remove baery end cap and install the
Baery Extension Tube.
Insert both charged 18650 LI-ION
Baeries and screw baery end cap.
5POWER ON
With the gimbal on a flat non-moving surface
press the Power Buon once and wait 4-5
seconds for the gimbal to inialize. You can
then pick up the gimbal and press and hold the
Mode Buon for 2 seconds to engage the
motors.
Once powerd on, The EVO GP-PRO starts up
in Pan Follow Mode.
See page 7 for details on the other modes.

Pan Follow Mode (PF): The camera
pans le/right following the movement
of the stabilizer while the lt and roll
axes are locked. Push the joysck
up/down allows manual control of the
lt axis.
Lock Mode (LM): This mode locks
movement of all three axes to keep the
camera fixed on a shoong direcon.
Push the joysck up/down and
le/right allows manual control of the
lt axis and pan axis.
Full Follow Mode (FF): The camera
pans and lts following the movement
of the stabilizer. Push the joysck
le/right allows manual control of the
roll axis.
The EVO GP-PRO enters Pan Follow Mode (PF) by default each me when powered on. Switch into Lock Mode
(LM) by single pressing the Mode Buon. Double press the Mode Buon to enter Full Follow Mode (FF). Single
press the Mode Buon to exit Full Follow mode to the previous Lock or Pan Follow mode.

INVERTED MODE
To use The EVO GP-PRO inverted enter into “Full Follow Mode”
rst (2 Clicks)
Flip the GP-PRO forward until camera is upside down and the
handle is inverted. You can now use the gimbal in this postion
while in Full Follow mode or exit Full Follow mode into the other
modes with the gimbal in the inverted position.
Before returing the gimbal upright be sure to enter into Full
Follow Mode (2 Clicks) and ip the gimbal upright until camera is
level. You can now enter into other modes.
You can optionally mount the camera upside down so you do not
have to correct the video in post production.
Filming in upside down mode is typically used for low level
shooting.

MICRO USB CONNECTIONS
FIRMWARE & SOFTWARE UPDATES
Connect the EVO GP-PRO to your computer via Micro USB cable for the firmware upgrade and calibraon.
1. Visit EVOGimbals.com and click "Downloads” in the top menu and find the GP-PRO Gimbal. Download
and Calibraon Tool, the latest firmware version and USB Driver that works with your computer.
Connect Remote Extension Cable (sold
separatley) to Micro USB port to remotely
control operang modes and gimbal funcons.
Remote extension cable can be very useful when
shoong with the carbon fiber extension poles
(sold separatley).
2. Connect the computer and the EVO GP-PRO
together using the USB cable and power on the
GP-PRO.
3. Using the Calibraon Tool, follow the instrucons
to upgrade the firmware on the GP-PRO.
Choose the appropriate cable for your applicaon. Keep in mind that baery life will vary dependent on the
overall health of your camera’s baeries. Run mes while charging your camera will typically be reduced to
1.5 to 2 hours total.
VIDEO OUT
Please note that once the AV cable is plugged into the monitor that your LCD monitor on your GoPro will
turn off automacally. (A/V Output cables are sold separatley).

Micro USB Port
There are 3 GoPro accessory cables included in the
box. Two are Mini USB cables and one is a USB-C
cable.
For GoPro Hero3 through Hero4 Black use the 3-pin
or 4-pin Mini USB cable. The 4-pin Mini USB cable
acvates the video out port.
For GoPro Hero5 through the GoPro Hero6, use the
USB-C cable for charging only. The video out port is
unavailable.

STARTUP & CALIBRATION
STARTUP CALIBRATION
If you find during normal use that your camera’s pitch or roll angle begins to dri or deviate then you need
to first try restarng your gimbal. Simply power off your gimbal and set it down on a flat non-moving
surface. Power on your gimbal and wait 5 seconds for the startup calibraon lights to stop flashing. The
Startup Calibraon is now complete.
The calibration sequence can be initiated through the EVO desktop calibration tool or through the
gimbal controls.
1. Press the power button to
turn the gimbal on - wait 5
seconds for the startup
calibration to complete.
2. Hold the thumbstick in the up
position for 2 seconds until the
indicator light remains on.
3. Hold the thumbstick down for 2 seconds until
the indicator light ashes once intermittantly.

WARRANTY PERIOD:
The warranty period is (1) Year from the original date of purchase. During this warranty period, under normal use, EVO
Gimbals will at its opon, repair and/or replace parts detemined to be defecve.
WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER:
1. Any unauthorized maintenance, misuse, collision, liquid infiltraon (water damage), or modificaons.
2. Incorrect Use of Product: altering soware, removing serial numbers/logos, using cameras not approved by EVO.
3. Damage due to fire, flood, acts of God, misuse and related damage.
4. Any prepaid freight for warranty service.
WARRANTY SERVICE:
If any product issues arise please contact your dealer first. Many gimbal performance problems can be solved with a simple

WARRANTY REGISTRATION:
Please register your warranty so we can provide you with the latest firmware updates, user manuals and tutorial videos. To

Parts: For a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase of product (“Parts Warranty”), EVO Gimbals will supply
new or refurbished replacement parts in exchange for parts determined to be defecve.
This Limited Warranty covers only the hardware components packaged with the Product. It does not cover technical
assistance for hardware or soware usage and it does not cover any soware products whether or not contained in the
Product; any such soware is provided “AS IS” unless expressly provided for in any enclosed soware Limited Warranty.
Please refer to the End User License Agreements included with the Product for your rights and obligaons with respect to
the soware.
Instrucons: To obtain warranty service, you must deliver the product, freight prepaid, in either its original packaging or
packaging affording an equal degree of protecon to the EVO Gimbals authorized service facility specified. It is your
responsibility to backup any data, soware or other materials you may have stored or preserved on your unit. It is likely that
such data, soware, or other materials will be lost or reformaed during service and EVO Gimbals will not be responsible

Repair / Replacement Warranty: This Limited Warranty shall apply to any repair, replacement part or replacement product
for the remainder of the original Limited Warranty period or for ninety (90) days, whichever is longer. Any parts or product
replaced under this Limited Warranty will become the property of EVO Gimbals.
This Limited Warranty only covers product issues caused by defects in material or workmanship during ordinary consumer
use; it does not cover product issues caused by any other reason, including but not limited to product issues due to
commercial use, acts of God, misuse, limitaons of technology, or modificaon of or to any part of the EVO Gimbals
product.
This Limited Warranty does not cover EVO Gimbals products sold AS IS or WITH ALL FAULTS or consumables (such as
fuses or baeries). This Limited Warranty is invalid if the factory-applied serial number has been altered or removed from
the product. This Limited Warranty is valid only in the United States.
LIMITATION ON DAMAGES: EVO GIMBALS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL
DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY ON THIS PRODUCT.
DURATION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES: EXCEPT TO THE EXTENT PROHIBITED BY APPLICABLE LAW, ANY IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ON THIS PRODUCT IS LIMITED IN
DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS WARRANTY.
Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitaon of incidental or consequenal damages, or allow limitaons on how
long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitaons or exclusions may not apply to you. This Limited Warranty gives
you specific legal rights and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.
EVO Gimbals (“EVO Gimbals”) warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for the me periods and as
set forth below. Pursuant to this Limited Warranty, EVO Gimbals will, at its opon, (i) repair the product using new or
refurbished parts or (ii) replace the product with a new or refurbished product. For purposes of this Limited Warranty,
“refurbished” means a product or part that has been returned to its original specificaons. In the event of a defect, these
are your exclusive remedies.
Labor: For a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase of the product (“Labor Warranty”), EVO Gimbals will,
at its opon, repair or replace with new or refurbished product, product determined to be defecve. If EVO Gimbals elects
to replace the product aer this Labor Warranty has expired but while the Parts Warranty below is sll in effect, it will do so
for the applicable labor charge.
