Evolve AP799 Wireless Router
Quick Guide
Thank you for purchasing Evolve AP799 wireless router.
This guide will help you set the wireless router for Internet connection and wireless
networking. Before you continue, please ensure that the Internet connection is
working on your ADSL/Cable Modem.
Functional Overview

Note:
The figures in this document are for reference only.
LED
Indicator Color Status Description
Green On Power is on.
Green On The device runs normally.
Power
- Off
Power is off or the device is down.
WLAN Green On Radio switch is turned on.

Green Blink Data is being transmitted.

Green On Connection succeeds.

WPS

The Interfaces and Buttons on the Rear Panel
Interface/Button Description
Reset Press the button for 3 seconds and then release it.
System restores the factory default settings.
Power Power socket, for connecting the power adapter.
WAN WAN interface, for connecting WAN or the uplink network
devices.
LAN1~LAN4 LAN interface, for connecting hub, switch, or computer on
LAN.
WPS
WPS: If WPS is enabled, press this button for 1 second,
and then the wireless router starts to accept the
negotiation of PBC mode.

Setup Diagram Using ADSL/Cable Modem
Step1 Connect one end of the power adapter to the power interface on the
wireless router, and connect the other end to the power socket on the
wall.
Step2 Connect the ADSL/Cable Modem to the WAN interface on the wireless
router.
Step3 Connect your PC to the LAN interface on the wireless router.
Note:
You can connect to the router wirelessly by using the wireless configuration tool on
the wireless client. Please ensure that your Modem’s LAN IP address does not
conflict the router’s IP address.

Connect to the Internet Using ADSL/Cable
Modem
To connect to the Internet via the Web user interface, do as follows:
1. Open your Internet web browser.
2. Enter http://192.168.254.1 in the IE address bar and press the Enter key.
3. Enter the username and the password in the login page. The default
username and password are admin and admin respectively.
4. Click the Setup Wizard tab, and then follow the step-by-step guide to set the
wireless router.
5. Click Next to continue.
6. Select the proper WAN interface type and then click Next to continue. The
default WAN interface type is DHCP (Auto Config). The wireless router will
automatically acquire the IP address, subnet mask, gateway and so on.
7. Configure the basic wireless parameters for the wireless router and then click
Next to continue. You may set a SSID, select a proper wireless mode and
configure the wireless security settings.
8. Click Finish to complete the wizard settings.

Change the IP Address of the Wireless Router
The default IP address of the wireless router is 192.168.254.1. If your router’s IP
address is in the “192.168.254.x” network segment, please follow the steps below to
change the IP address of the wireless router.
1. Log in to the Web user interface, and then choose the Network Settings >
LAN Interface Settings.
2. In the LAN Interface Settings page, you can change the IP address and
subnet mask of the wireless router.
3. Click Save to save the settings.

Connect to Your Router Wirelessly
By default, the wireless function of the wireless router is enabled. Please follow the
steps below to configure the basic parameters of the wireless settings.
1. Log in to the Web user interface, and then choose the Wireless Settings >
Basic Settings.
2. In the Basic Settings page, enable the wireless function. You may also set
the SSID, channel, MCS and so on.
3. On the wireless client, search the SSID of the wireless router via the wireless
configuration utility, and click the Connect button on the wireless
configuration utility to connect to the wireless router.
