1 ABOUT THE RX2-1K GA
1.1 FUNCTION OF THE RX2-1K GAS
The RX2-1K Gas s a rece ver module, used to control the gasprojectors GX2 12V and GX2 DMX v a
rad o. The RX2-1K Gas s mounted to the Gasprojector and allows the act vat on of s ngle gn t ons
and predef ned sequences w th the help of any Explo transm tter.
The RX2-1K Gas allows you to add your gasprojectors to an automated show. You can then adjust the
open ng t mes of the gn t ons.
The RX2-1K Gas s suppl ed w th power v a the nternal battery of the GX2, and features no own
power supply.
1.2 CONTROL OF THE RX2-1K GAS
The RX2-1K Gas s controlled solely v a rad o. As w th other Explo rece vers, Box and
channelnumbers are used for th s purpose. Generally, 3 values must be set to use the rece ver.
1.2.1 BOXNUMBER
The boxnumber s a general address ng of the rece ver. It can be freely set from 0-99. To use all
predef ned sequences of the RX2-1K Gas to the r fullest, t s recommended to set all used rece vers to
the same boxnumber.
The boxnumber can be changed e ther v a the stepper software, or the transm ttermenu.
1.2.2 CHANNELNUMBER
The channelnumber shows the actual gn t on. W th t, a s ngle gn t on or predef ned sequence can be
gn ted. The channelnumbers of the sequences are predef ned, and are shown n the correspond ng
chapter of th s manual.
The s ngle gn t ons however can be set from channels 1-16. It not only def nes at wh ch channel the
dev ce w ll gn te, but also wh ch pos t on w th n a sequence t has.
The channelnumber can be e ther changed v a the stepper software, or the transm tter menu.
1.2.3 MAXIMUM NUMBER OF GASPROJECTORS
Should mult ple gasprojectors be controlled on the same boxnumber w th predef ned sequences, t s
necessary to def ne the correct max mum number of gasprojectors. Should t be entered ncorrectly,
some sequences won't be made correctly.
The max mum number of gasprojectors can be changed e ther v a the stepper software, or the
transm tter menu.

3 U AGE OF THE RX2-1K GA
3.1 SETUP OF THE RX2-1K GAS
Should the RX2-1K Gas be bought separately as an accessory for the gasprojector, t must be
mounted to the dev ce, pr or to use. The follow ng components w ll be needed:
1.) RX2-1K Gas w th holder
2.) Screw for the holder (3,9x9,5 TX15)
3.) Connector socket for the RX2-1K Gas
4.) Screws for the connector socket of the RX2-1K Gas (M3x8)
The follow ng steps must be taken to mount the RX2-1K Gas to the gasprojector:
3.1.1 INSTALLING THE CONNECTOR SOCKET
Important note: Of the ma n c rcu t board of the GX2 ex st var ous vers ons. The connect ng of the
socket var es w th each. In th s manual we w ll decr be the setup of the cable to the newest vers on of
the c rcu t board.
1.) The connector socket s f xed to the front of the gasprojector w th the two screws (M3x8). The
below graph c shows where t s usually nstalled ( n yellow). We normally use s nk head
screws, wh ch s why you should deally counters nk the holes beforehand.
2.) In the next step, the connect ng cables w ll be f t to the ma n c rcu t board.

10
The newest vers on features a separate socket for the RX2-1K Gas. Here you can connect the
cable d rectly w th the suppl ed plug (marked n red below).
Older c rcu t boards do not feature th s socket. In th s case the cables must be f xed to another
socket.
The connect on of the red plus cable, and the black m nus cable can be done e ther at the
mastermodule or DMX socket. Both opt ons can be seen below. Under no c rcumstances
should these cables be m xed up.
The two gn t on cables (green and yellow) should be nstalled as shown below, nstead of the
external gn t on cables to the plug. Do not worry about the polar ty of the gn t on cables.

11
3.1.2 MOUNTING THE RX2-1K GAS TO THE GASPROJECTOR
After nstall ng the connector socket, the rece ver can be f xed to the gasprojector. S mply mount the
holder w th the rece ver and the suppl ed screw (3,9x9,5 TX15) as shown below to the projector
hous ng, and connect the cable to the prev ously nstalled socket.
3.2 SETTINGS AT THE GASPROJECTOR
Newer vers ons of the ma n c rcu t board of the GX2 feature D psw tches, that allow you to change the
open ng t mes for external gn t ons (see GX2 manual).
When us ng the RX2-1K Gas th s also plays a role. Should a spec f c value be entered, then the
gasprojector w ll gn te for th s t me, even f the gn t on mpulse of the rece ver should be shorter.
Example: At the gasprojector, an open ng t me of 2 seconds has been set. The gasprojector then
rece ves an gn t on mpulse of 500ms from the RX2-1K Gas. Even though the gn t on mpulse s
shorter, the gasprojector w ll st ll gn te for 2 seconds.
For th s reason, we recommend sett ng the projector to the shortest open ng t me, espec ally for
automated shows. S mply set D psw tch 1 to ON, and all others to OFF (see below graph c). W th
these sett ngs, the ope ng t me w ll always be determ ned by the RX2-1K Gas.

12
3.3 SETTINGS VIA THE TRANSMITTER MENU
