HD Video Capture
Quick Start Guide
Thanks for purchasing ezcap280 HD Video Capture. The following guides you how to set up the
device. Hope this device will bring you nice digital experience.
With this ezcap280 HD Video Capture, you can capture 1080P video from HDMI or
YPbPr(Component Video) port, such as blue ray, set-top-box, computer, game box, etc.
Features/ports and buttons:
1. OUTPUT—HDMI output, pass through
display HDMI or YPbPr video.
2. INPUT—HDMI input.
3. YPBPR INPUT—YPbPr component
input.
4. PWR—DC 5V power supply.
5. USB HOST—For plug USB flash drive or
USB HDD for saving record files.
6. LINE IN—Work with YPbPr input only.
7. MIC—For connect a microphone and
record voice comments when play game (It
only work with component input.)
8. LINE OUT—Audio output.
9. LED indicator—Color be green when
standby, be red when recording.
10. REC button—Press to record/stop.

Connections:
Ezcap280 have 2 input modes: HDMI, component.And it will automatically recognize the input video
source, no need to switch manually. Just please do not to connect 2 source at same time.
Connect with HDMI input source:
1, Connect power with DC adaptor
2, Use HDMI cable connect Xbox or other source.
3, With HDMI cable connect to monitor
4, Plug in an USB disk.
5, The “LINE OUT”is for connect to speaker or earphone, it’s not necessary if you don’t need,
cause the HDMI output also with audio output.
Important: Use “safety remove”option to remove your USB flash or HDD after format from
computer, DO NOT just plug out without click “safety remove”option, otherwise you will cause
problem during recording.
Note: Some HDMI video sources may have HDCP protection; you cannot get the pass through
video and record it.
For PS4, it has disabled HDCP option for firmware 1.7 or later:

Go settings---System disable “Enable HDCP”option:
Note: Disable HDCP option is only for game play, not for blue ray DVD play
Connect with Ypbpr component video source (such as DVD player, PS3. Etc):

1, Use the adapter cable in the package to connect component (red, blue, green), just don’t mixed the
red with the audio cable (the audio cable red and white will be separated with component)
2, Connect a Microphone to the MIC port if you need record speak from microphone, it’s not
necessary if don’t need.
3, The other connection will total same as HDMI connection above.
Note: For PS3 connect, you also need to do following settings:
Go to the settings---Video output settings, choose “Component/D-Terminal”:
At the resolutions setting, make sure the “1080P” option is NOT be ticked, otherwise some game
play (e.g. GT5) cannot be recorded by ezcap280:
Record:
After connection is ready (no matter composite, component, or HDMI),you should see the pass
through video on the screen. You will see the blue indicator shows on. It means now is ready to
record.
To record video is very simple --- press the record button, then you will see the indicator turns to pink,
it means now recording.

There are several reasons for no actions when press record button, you may need check:
1, The input video source disconnected.
2, The USB flash (or SD card) is out of memory.
3, The format for USB flash (or SD card) is not suitable, e.g. exFAT. Ezcap280 support FAT, FAT32,
and NTFS.
4, The USB flash (or SD card) is not connected well.
5, The USB flash (or SD card) is not ready, normally, it will take 4~8 seconds after plug it on.
To stop recording, just press the button again, will see indicator flash few seconds then turns to blue,
means the record is stop, now you can take off your USB flash (or SD card).
Note: please do not take the memory off when the indicator is flashing. The recording will
automatically stop if the USB flash or SD card out of space.
After stop recording, connect the USB flash or SD card to computer will see the recorded files: for
1080P recording, file will be Encode_1080P_1, for 720 or 480p recording, file will be Encode_1.
Every record/stop operation will create a different recording file: Encode_1080P_1, Encode_1080P_2,
Encode_1080P_3…and so on.
The max size per file will be around 1.95GB (around 15 minutes for 1080p video), when you record a
video more than 1.95GB(15 minutes), ezcap281 will partition it in more than 1 file, for example: if you
record a 45 minutes 1080p video by one click recording, you will see 3 files: Encode_1080P_1,
Encode_1080P_1_1, Encode_1080P_1_2…and so on
Sometimes you may find that some recorded video with problems, like: skip. It may caused by you
are using a USB flash on NTFS format, and you haven’t click “safety remove”the device when
disconnect from computer (especially for USB HDD, if not safety remove, may caused serious
problem). You can try to format it to FAT32 if that problem keeps happen.
Firmware and others:
1, Update firmware: you maybe need update firmware for this device for some reason. Copy the
firmware file in to USB disk, power off the device (unplug power jack), plug USB disk to device, power
on, the indicator will flash 7~8 seconds, and become blue, it means the update is finished.
2, After long time using, you will see the number of recording file become too big, for example
Encode_1080P_234, but you want it be start from Encode_1080P_0, to do it you just keep press
record button (before power on), then plug the power jack to power on the device, after 3 seconds,
the file number will start from 0.

Edit/Convert recorded files:
The ezcap280 comes with a video edit software—Arcsoft ShowBiz 3.5, you can edit your video file
with it.
After install it on computer, and open it.

使用说明
ezcap280高清视频采集盒支持从 HDMI或色差分量信号采集 1080P高清视频。产品采用一键录制设计，
操作简单。
外观、按键及接口
1. OUTPUT—HDMI 视频输出，用于实时显示
从HDMI 输入或色差输入到录像盒的视频。
2. INPUT—HDMI 视频输入
3. YPBPR INPUT—色差视频输入.

连接说明:

ezcap280 高清视频采集盒有两种视频输入选择：HDMI、色差分量。 同时 ezcap280 可以自动识别输
入的视频源，而不需要手动切换开关。
注意：请不要同时连接两种视频源到采集盒，仅仅连接一种你想要录制的视频源即可。
连接至 HDMI 输入源:
1, 设备连接电源适配器
2, 使用 HDMI 线材连接视频源 HDMI 输出到高清视频采集盒的 HDMI IN 接口。
3, 使用 HDMI 线材连接高清视频采集盒的 HDMI OUT 接口到电视机或显示屏的 HDMI 输入接口。
4, 插入 U盘或移动硬盘
5, “LINE OUT”音频输出端口用于连接耳机或音箱，如果你不需要则无需连接，因为 HDMI 输出已经包
含音频输出。
注意：
一些 HDMI 视频源有 HDCP 保护， 因此你无法获得视频显示和录制。 如果你一定要通过 HDMI 录制
该类视频，请另行购买带解码功能的 HDMI 分路器或直接的 HDMI 解码器配合使用。同时请注意当地
法律，以上行为与本产品无关。
当你使用电脑格式化你的 U盘或者移动硬盘，退出程序时请使用”安全退出”选项，而不是直接拔出 U
盘或移动硬盘， 否则可能会在录制期间发生问题。
在选择视频源从 HDMI 输出给高清视频采集盒时，ezcap280 采集盒的 LINE IN 和MIC IN 两项功能都

是无效的。 Ezcap280P 采集盒都是可以使用的。
对于索尼 PS4，1.7 或更高版本，有消除 HDCP 的选项。
确认系统版本为 1.7 或更高
设置：settings---System –不勾选 “Enable HDCP”选项
注意：消除 HDCP 选项仅仅支持游戏，而不支持蓝光 DVD 等其它光碟。
连 接至色差视频源:

1, 设备连接电源适配器
2, 使用配备的视频多用线材和色差分量线(需自行购买，含红白音频线)连接至视频源之色差输出端口。
3, 使用 HDMI 线材连接高清视频采集盒的 HDMI OUT 接口到电视机或显示屏的 HDMI 输入接口。
4, 插入 U盘或移动硬盘
5, “LINE OUT”音频输出端口用于连接耳机或音箱，如果你不需要则无需连接，因为 HDMI 输出已经包
含音频输出。
6, “MIC”麦克风输入端口， 当你打游戏时，你可以连接你的麦克风来同时录制你的语音和游戏视频。
如果不需要则无需连接。
7, “LINE IN”音频输入端口， 当你录制一段视频想加入一段背景音乐等，可以从一个音乐播放器的音频
输出接口用 3.5MM 线连接到此接口，这样就可以同时录制视频背景音乐。如果不需要则无需连接。
注意： 色差分量为红绿蓝，左右声道音频为红白，请不要混淆这两根红色线材，多用线材的音频红
白是连在一起的，使用时请留意。
注意：与索尼 PS3 的连接使用，需要做如下设置：
PS3 setting: For the Component input
(1) settings---Video output settings, 选择 “Component/D-Terminal”色差端口。
(2) Video Output Settings –
确 认 1080P 选项没有被勾
选，否则一些游戏(比如
GT5)将无法录制。

录制:
连接好后，你一定可以在电视或显示器上获得影像和声音，同时绿色指示灯常亮，现在采集盒已经准备
好录制了。
录制非常简单，只要你轻轻按下录制按键，你看到绿色指示灯变为红色，这就代表已经开始录制了。
如果按下录制键，指示灯没有变化的话，或许有如下几种原因，请确认：
1, 输入的视频源没有连接好
2, U 盘或移动硬盘容量已满
3, U 盘、移动硬盘的格式不适合，比如 exFAT 格式。 采集盒支持 FAT、FAT32 和NTFS 格式。
4, U 盘、移动硬盘没有插好
5, U 盘、移动硬盘还没有准备好，一般插入后需要 4~8 秒的时间
如果要停止录制，你只需再次轻按录制按键，你将会看到 LED 指示灯闪烁几下然后变为绿色常亮，这
时说明已经停止录制， 你可以拔下存储设备了。
注意：当 LED 指示灯闪烁时， 请不要拔下 U盘，否则有可能会丢失部分录制文件。如果 U盘录制满，
采集盒会自动停止录制，不会损坏或丢失之前的录制文件。
将存有录制文件的 U盘或移动硬盘与电脑连接，你将会看到视频录制文件： 1080P 的录制文件，文件
名为 Encode_1080P_1，720 或480 录制文件为 Encode_1。
每一次 录制/停止的操作，伊卡普采集盒都会新建一个不同的录制文件：Encode_1080P_1、
Encode_1080P_2、Encode_1080P_3…
每一个文件最大约为 1.95GB (1080p 视频文件约 15 分钟)，当你录制视频超过 1.95GB，伊卡普采集
盒会自动保存为一个文件，并继续录制。 举例：当你按一次录制键并准备录制 50 分钟左右的 1080P
的视频，那你将会得到四个文件： Encode_1080P_1, Encode_1080P_1_1, Encode_1080P_1_2…前
面三个文件分别为 1.95GB，时长分别约 15 分钟，而第四个文件时长约 5分钟。
注意： 一些时候你会发现录制文件播放时有遗漏，那或许是因为你使用的是 NTFS 格式的存储设备，
且你最后从电脑拔出时没有点击”安全退出”。如果你尝试安全退出还是没有解决这个问题，请试着将
存储设备格式为 FAT32 格式并再次尝试。
程序升级、文件名清零和文件时间设定:

1, 程序升级：因为一些原因你或许需要升级程序。 请将新的程序拷贝到 U盘内，将采集盒电源拔掉，
插上 U盘，再接上电源，这时指示灯将会闪烁七八秒， 并最终变成绿色常亮，这时表示软件升级成功。
2, 采集盒长时间使用后，你将会看到录制文件名的数值越来越大，比如 Encode_1080P_234。如果
你觉得不太好管理，而想从 Encode_1080P_0 开始的话，请在采集盒接电前长按录制按键，并接上电
源，大概三秒后， 文件名将会清零。
录制文件的编辑:
本录像盒配送了一个强大的视频编辑软件—Arcsoft ShowBiz 3.5, 您可以使用它来编辑您所录制的视
频。 按照提示安装好软件后打开：
1, 将需要编辑的视频拖入编辑框，比如将两段视频拖入合并为一个视频文件:

3, 编辑后点击 produce(发布)可以将视频创建为 DVD 或发布到 Youtube:

常见问题汇总:
1, 当选择 HDMI 视频输入时为何无法录制麦克风？
- Ezcap280 在使用 HDMI 输入时不支持录制麦克风，仅仅支持色差分量输入时录制麦克风，音频线
路输入也是一样。如果你需要支持 HDMI 输入录制麦克风，请选择购买别的型号 - ezcap280P,
ezcap284 等。
2, 为什么不能通过 HDMI 接口直接录制一些设备的视频，比如 PS3 和一些蓝光 DVD？
- 因为以上这些设备具有 HDCP 保护功能，你需要购买具有 HDCP 解码的 HDMI 分路器，或者直接
从这些设备的色差分量输出来录制视频。 当然，解码 HDCP 在一些国家和地区是非法的。
3, 为什么 ezcap280 高清录制采集盒无法录制视频？
- 第一步请确保你的显示器可以正常显示你需要录制的音视频。如果不行，请确认所有的线材连接，
确认 HDMI 信号是否有 HDCP 保护，比如以上第 2点，如果有保护显示器无法显示视频。
- 如果是 PS4，你需要按照说明书来取消 HDCP 保护，这个设定仅仅限于游戏，不包括蓝光 DVD。
- 请确保你的 U盘或移动硬盘有足够的空间，同时如果录制 LED 等在闪烁期间不要拔掉 U盘，如果
U盘满了录制将会自动停止。
- 请确保 U盘或移动硬盘是正确的格式，因为设备不支持 exFAT 格式，我们建议使用 FAT32 格式。
如果你在电脑格式化，先用“安全移除”后再拔出 U盘，否则可能录制过程中会出现问题。
- 如果你的 U盘有 LED，那通常插上 U盘到设备后会闪烁几秒(U 盘没有 LED 请忽略这一条，不过
仍然需要等上几秒)，等 LED 熄灭后代表已经准备好了，这时你可以开始录制。
- 如果你从 PS3 的色差分量录制游戏，请参考说明书里关于这一部分的设置。
4, 如何更新最新的固定程序？
- 拷贝固定程序文件 (文件名为 jedi.img) 到U盘，将采集盒先断电(拔掉电源接头), 插上 U盘到设备，
连接好设备电源，设备工作指示灯会闪烁 7~8 秒，等显示灯由闪烁变为常亮，就表示更新已经完成。
如果将 U盘插上电脑确认里面的内容，应该 jedi.img 的固定程序文件消失了，就验证了更新成功。
5, 如何将录制文件名清零？
- 长时间使用设备后，录制文件名的数字会变得很大，比如 Encode_1080P_234。如果你想让文件
名从 Encode_1080P_0 重新开始，你需要先断电，然后一直按着录制按键不松掉同时通电，大概
三四秒后文件名将会被清零并重新从 0开始。
6, 如何从我的电脑的 HDMI 接口录制视频？
- 首先按照说明书里连接 HDMI 信号连接好所有线材。
- 如果你有一个额外的显示器且可以正确显示视频，则不用管下面视频是否准备好的选项。
- 如果你没有额外的显示器，请右击电脑屏幕并选择属性，在高级选项发现如下图片，表示电脑的视
频输出已经准备好，如果红色部分仅仅显示 1则代表视频还没有准备好，请在高级选项里尝试发现

直至如图所示。
- 请右击电脑的扬声器图标选择属性或播放设备，并将 EZCAP28X 设备设定为默认播放设备。 如果
没有设定这一个，你录制的视频将会没有声音。
