storeddatabeingirretrievable.
3. Duringtheprocessofreadingorwritingdataonthepublicpartition,
donottrytotypethepasswordtounlockthesecurepartitionin
caseofdamagingthedatacontained.

malfunctionsafterprolongedusage,simplyhaveitrepairedor
purchaseanewoneandtypeinthesamepassword.Therepairedor
purchasedharddrivewillfunctionnormallyafterwards.

connectoroftheharddiskenclosure.
2. Pressandholddownbuttons1and3(Donotrelease).

theUSBcabletocomputerUSBhost.Thegreenandredindicators
shouldlightup.
4. After5seconds,theorangeLEDindicatorwillstarttoblinkand
button1and3cannowbereleased.Harddriveinitializationis
complete.

Settingtheunlockingpassword
1. AftercompletingtheinitializationandwiththeUSBcablestill
connected,pressbuttonC(Cancel)for5consecutivesecondsthen
releaseafterorangeindicatorturnson.

2. TypeinthepasswordyouwishtosetandpressbuttonE(Enter).The
orangeLEDindicatorwillturnoffsubsequently.
3. RetypethepasswordthenpressbuttonE(Enter)again.
4. Ifthetwopasswordsmatch,theredindicatorwillturn
offandblueturnonwhilethegreenwillblink3timesthenstayon
whichmeanspasswordissuccessfullyset.Thesystemwillsoon
detectthesecurepartitionandnotifythatreadingandwriting
optionsarenowpermitted.Ifthetwopasswordsdon’tmatch,the
orangeindicatorwilllightupandtheredwillblinktwicethenstay
on.Theprocesswillreverttostep2andrequestforthepasswordto
bekeyedinagain.

Unlockasecurepartition
1. ConnecttheMicroBconnectoroftheUSBcabletotheUSB
connectoroftheharddiskenclosure.
2. ConnecttheotherendoftheUSBcabletothecomputerUSBhost.
ThegreenandredLEDindicatorsshouldsubsequentlyturnon.
3. TypeintheunlockingpasswordandthenpressbuttonE(Enter).
4. Ifthepasswordyoutypediscorrect,theredindicatorwillturnoff
andblueturnonwhilethegreenwillblink3timesthenstayon.This
meansthatharddrivehasbeensuccessfullyunlocked.Thesystem
willnowdetectthesecurepartitionandnotifythatreadingand
writingoptionsarenowpermitted.Ifthepasswordisincorrect,the
redindicatorwillblink3timesthenstayonagain.

Changingtheunlockingpassword
1. ConnecttheMicroBconnectoroftheUSBcabletotheUSB
connectoroftheharddiskenclosure.
2. PressandholddownbuttonC(Cancel)withoutreleasing.
3. WhilestillholdingdownbuttonC,connecttheotherendoftheUSB
cabletothecomputerUSBhost.ThegreenandredLEDindicators
shouldsubsequentlyturnon.
4. TheorangeLEDindicatorwillblinkafter5secondsandbuttonC
(Cancel)cannowbereleased.
5. TypeintheoriginalunlockingpasswordthenpressbuttonE(Enter).
Ifthepasswordiscorrect,theorangeindicatorwillturnoff.Ifthe
passwordisincorrect,theorangeindicatorwillremainonandthe
passwordneedstobetypedagain.
6. KeyinyournewpasswordthenpressbuttonE(Enter).Theorange
LEDindicatorshouldturnoff.
7. KeyinthenewpasswordagainthenpressbuttonE(Enter).
8. Ifthetwopasswordsmatch,theredindicatorwillturnoffandblue
turnonwhilethegreenwillblink3timesthenstayon.Password
changingisnowcompleteandthesystemwilldetectthesecure
partitionandnotifythatreadingandwritingoptionsarenow
permitted.Ifthetwopasswordsdon’tmatch,theorangeLED
indicatorwillturnonwhiletheredwillblinktwicethenremainon.
Theprocesswillreverttostep6andrequestforpasswordkey‐in
again.

Lockingtheharddrive
Theharddrivewilllockitselfautomaticallyundertheseconditions:
1. EZ610Sisdisconnectedfromthecomputer.
2. Theharddrivehasbeenidleforover15minutesandisinsleep
mode.

Formattingthesecurepartition
Pleaseformatthesecurepartitionaccordingtothestepsbelow(The
devicewillautomaticallydividetheharddiskinto1publicand1secure
partition,eachaccountingfor50%ofthetotalharddrivecapacity).
1. Rightclickon“Mycomputer”thenselect“Management”followed
by“Diskmanagement”.Disk1isthedefaultpublicpartitionand
Disk2isthedefaultsecurepartition.Clickon“Diskmanagement”
andawizardwillpopupforDisk2initialization.Press“OK”.
