Inputs 2 4 – Inpu s 2-4 are iden ical and can be used o connec Dynamic Microphones
(no phan om power necessary), Condenser Microphones (phan om power is necessary),
or line level sources like CD players, AM/FM uners, DVD players, se o cable boxes
or music servers (do no use phan om power). Inpu s 1-4 will accep balanced XLR connec ors
as well as 1/4” 6.3mm ype phone jacks. Caution: always select the approriate
corresponding switch position before making connections. Applying phantom power
to a line level source can cause failure to the connected source.
AUX – Connec music sources like CD/DVD players, AM/FM uners, se op cable boxes or any
line level music source here.
Line Out – This ou pu sends he unbalanced pre-amplified mixed signal o o her devices like
addional amplifiers where more power is needed. The AUX can also be used o connec
recording devices o record he pre-amplified signal.
PRE OUT/AMP IN – This is a loop ou pu /inpu . If he loop connec or is removed he pre-amp
signal from he in ernal mixer will no be broadcas . The amp-in is simply a line level audio
inpu . These connec ors are mos commonly used o send he pre-amplified signal from he

COM/4ohm/25V/70V/100V – These are he speaker level ou pu erminals. The COM or
common erminal should be connec ed o he speaker nega ive -. Choose ei her
4ohm, 25V, 70V or 100V as he posi ive + o connec o your speakers. No e ha all he
connec ed speakers should be coupled o a ransformer ha corresponds o he
ou pu vol age. Example: 20 speakers which all have 10 wa 70V ransformers. Connec he
speakers in parallel. Connec he speaker – nega ive o he COM erminal and connec he
speaker + posi ive o he 70V erminal. Never exceed 240/120 wa s in combined speakers. We
recommend ha ins allers should main ain 30% headroom of 170/84 wa s o al.
CAUTION: Never connec 4ohm, 8ohm or 25V speakers o he 70V or 100V erminals. This
can cause amplifier failure and void your warran y. If you are unsure how o connec his
amplifier o your speakers call or e-mail Fac or Elec ronics for echnical suppor prior o making

TEL INPUT
– Th s s a balanced aud o nput that s des gned to accept
s gnals from an analog telephone output. Due to the var ed output
levels from d fferent telephone systems we have prov ded a level
control that allows prec se level adjustments.
NOTE:
The TEL INPUT automat cally overr des all s gnals n the pre-
ampl f er and broadcasts the page when an announcement s made
through the telephone system.
COM Z1/Z2/Z3/Z4 – The X-7240-4 provides 4 independen ou pu zones. The zones can be used
o send background music and paging o any of he 4 zones or all zones simel aniously wi h he
ALL bu on. Individual volume con rol is provided for each zone. The zone audio signal is aken
af er he pre-amplifier. All audio sources, mic or line will be braodcas in he selec ed zone.
Connec he zone ou pu s exac ly he same as he main ou pu s using he common COM as he
nega ive – and he Z1/Z2/Z3/Z4 as he posi ive +. The X-7240-4 is a 240 wa amplifier. Never
connec a speaker load ha exceeds 240 wa s in o al. (ALL OUTPUTS COMBINED)
CAUTION: Each zone is capable of a maximum of 120 wa s and a maximum of 240 wa s all
zones combined. Never connec more han 120 wa s o any single zone.
When using 70V speakers se he fron panel zone volume o 5 or less. The number 6
posi ion provides 100V a he oup u s and should no be used wi h 70V speakers.
TRANSFORMER ISOLATION – Many elephone sys ems need o be phyisically isola ed from
he amplifier and can pass DC vol ages from he phone sys em paging ou pu s. The X-7240-4
provides an in ernal ransformer which blocks po en ially harmful DC vol ages and effec ivly
isola es he X-7240-4 from he phone sys em which reduces noise.
MOH OUTPUTS: MOH is Music On Hold. The X-7240-4 provides a line level 600ohm
ou pu and an 8ohm 1wa speaker level ou pu . Carfully check he reccomended inpu
of he phone sys em o ma ch he X-7240-4 MOH ou pu s. The 8ohm 1W ou pu can be
used o power a speaker. This is usefull in lobbys and wai ing rooms where he music
will be braodcas bu he paging will no be braodcas . The MOH inpu is aken from he
AUX inpu jack and he MP3 player providing uni erup ed music for phone sys ems and lobbys.
