SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
This appliance is for: 125V/250V AC, 50/60Hz, 1400W
When plugging the appliance into the outlet prior to use, be aware that
the appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). As
a safety feature this plug will fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the
plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit,
contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
The CHI Dryer has been designed with an ALCI plug protective device
that may make the appliance inoperable under some abnormal conditions
(such as, but not limited to, immersions of the appliance). This protective
device helps to prevent electric shocks.
If the CHIDryer does not turn on when the switch is turned to the On position,
be sure that the red “RESET” button on the plug is depressed. In the case of
local electrical interruptions, be sure to reset the plug before using it again.
IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT ALCI SAFETY PLUG
1. “TEST” button ensures the ALCI plug device is operational.
2. “RESET” button clears the ground fault and restores the ALCI to
normal operation.
3. The ALCI should be tested before every use.
4. When “RESET” button extends out, the ALCI has operated. In such
event, turn the tool off and press “RESET” button. Turn the tool back
on. If the tool does not operate, the appliance is not in proper
functioning condition and is to be discarded or returned.
5. If there is any indication that the appliance does not operate in the
proper functioning condition, it should be returned (See “LIMITED
WARRANTY” Section).
