Zone Expander
Installation and Setup Guide
What is the Omni-EXP8?
The Omni-EXP8 is an eight-zone expander module for use with Omni Systems. For maximum flexibility, the Omni-EXP8
may be set up using single-ended, zone-doubled, or double-balanced configurations. Mounting information is provided
below; wiring information is provided on the next page.
Mounting the Omni-EXP8
Plastic mounting clips are provided with the Omni-EXP8. These clips must be placed into the
Control Panel PCB (as shown below) prior to mounting the expander board.
Mount the zone expander board onto the control PC board pins as shown in the diagram below.

Resistor Color Coding
All necessary end-of-line resistors are supplied with the Omni-EXP8. The resistors are color coded as shown below:
Resistor (ohms) Color Coding Application
2.2k Red, Red, Red Standard EOL or Double-Balanced Zone
3.3k Orange, Orange, Red First Zone of Zone Doubled Loop
7.5k†Violet, Green, Red Second Zone of Zone Doubled Loop
† For CE installations, you must use 7.5k resistors for EOL instead of 2.2k resistors

Wiring the Omni-EXP8
