What are the roles of BLE operation?
A BLE plays a total of four roles: Central and Observer as the Master; Peripheral and Broadcaster as the Slave. (Standard codes)
◆The FBL770BC BLE Module supports the Peripheral role and the Broadcaster role.

Understanding the BLE communication method –Difference between
Connection and Advertising communication methods
Connection is a bilateral Bluetooth communication that can be applied to the case 1 configuration in the picture shown below.
◆Advertising is a unilateral Bluetooth communication that can be applied to all of case 1, case 2, case 3 and case 4 configurations
in the picture shown below.
Advertising is a method by which own basic data can be transmitted at a certain interval regardless of the reception of the counterpart.
This method can be used only when the counterpart is within the communication radius.
Basic data includes the device name, Mac address, provided services, wireless output power level, etc. of the Peripheral or Broadcaster device that is currently
advertising. If necessary, analog value (sensor), digital input value (status), etc. that are collected via the external input/output port interfaced with the Peripheral or
Broadcaster device can also be transmitted.

1. What is FBL770BC ?
FBL770BC is a Bluetooth embedded module based on Bluetooth 4.0 that supports Bluetooth Low Energy which is a low power
function. FBL770BC is a product with an all-in-one type built-in package that incorporates all functions, including hardware,
firmware, application software, and a chip antenna for user convenience; FBL770BC operates by itself when power is supplied
from an external source. This product is configured to be easily controlled by a smartphone.

Users can operate FBL770BC for 580 days when the Advertising interval is set to 10 seconds.
Users can operate FBL770BC for 130 days when the Advertising interval is set to 1 seconds.

5. Major functions of FBL770BC –Supports the Beacon function
The broadcaster unilaterally transmits its basic data to the Central device as a certain interval, which is called Advertising.
The basic data provided by the Broadcaster to the Central device by Advertising is as follows:
- Basic data includes the device name, Mac address, provided services, wireless output power level, etc. of the Broadcaster device. If
necessary, analog value (sensor), digital input value (status), etc. that are collected via the external input/output port interfaced with the
Peripheral or Broadcaster device can also be transmitted.
◆The Central device can be used to issue tickets (an example of application) using the unique data delivered from the Broadcaster while
interlocking with the beacon service server.
◆This series of service is called the beacon service, which can be used in various ways on industrial sites.

One of the features of FBL770BC is that it can be configured so that to be used after freely setting its own PIO 8 bit, 2 ADC channels,
2 PWM channels, and UART communication (TX, RX, GND) to input or output as desired without using a MICOM.
No MICOM is required.

◆Any bit of PIO 8 bits set to input delivers the current input status to a wirelessly connected smartphone when an Event occurs.
An Event refers to a change of input (Falling edge or Rising edge) supplied to the PIO port.

ADC1, ADC0 On/Off function
It reads current analog values of FBL770BC’s ADC1 and ADC0 ports, converts them to digital values, and transmits the
values to a smartphone.
The transmission interval of ADC1 and ADC0 ports can be freely set in seconds from 1 second to 18 hours.
Make sure that the maximum input voltage does not exceed 3.3V since the range of ADC’s input voltage is from 0 to 3.3V.

It’s an 8-bit port used for digital input or digital output. Users can select the function for each
bit as input or output. Users can freely and selectively set each bit as input or output.

As an analog input port, its applicable input voltage range is 0~3.3V.
PWM1 , PWM0
It is a PWM output port. Its duty rate setting range is from 0 to 255.
TXD, RXD
It is used for serial (RS232) communication between a PC and FBL770BC.
