This User Guide Addendum is to be used in conjunction with the MX-4 User Guide
(MANL-0957-XX) and MX-4 DV User Guide (MANL-0956-XX).

Color Correction:
The color correction interface documented in the MX-4 User Guide (p. 64) and MX-4
DV User Guide (p. 64) has been removed.
PIP:
Any PIP adjustment you make while in the PIP menu will be saved until the power is
removed from the unit. To reset the PIP settings back to default, press SHIFT-0, while in
the PIP menu.
If you hold down the SHIFT+OK buttons while moving the TAKEBAR, the PIP image
fades in and out on the Main Video output.

MULTI-PIP:
The Multi-PIP option number 9 now has a larger window on the left and two smaller
windows on the right.
Multi-PIP option 9 has three windows in the above configuration
Disable Flip-Y:
An option, DISABLE FLIP-Y, has been added to the SETUP screen at the right-most
position for PAL and second from the right position in the NTSC setup screen.

Press 1to disable FLIP-Y and press 0to enable. When disabled the FLIP-Y icon in the
INPUT EFFECTS screen will be grayed out. Those transitions with a FLIP-Y component
will operate without the vertically flipped video. In all other regards, these transitions
function normally.
With this option set to 1the video-delay through the unit is reduced by one field. This is
desirable for some live presentation applications. The factory default setting for this
option is 0.
Foreground Graphic Selection and Adjustments:
Once you have entered the Foreground Graphic selection screen using SHIFT+ROUTE,
select and configure your Foreground Graphic following the outlined steps:
1) Select the Foreground Graphic either by entering its number, with the number
keys, or using the arrow keys.

2) Press OK.
3) Use the joystick to position your foreground graphic. If the graphic is the same
size as the screen (720x480 for NTSC or 720x576 for PAL) the graphic will not
move. The default foreground graphics that are included with MX-4/DV are full
size. You can return to the Foreground Graphic Selection menu by pressing
SHIFT+ROUTE.
4) Press the OK key to display the Foreground Graphic on Main out.
5) If required, adjust the transparency of your Foreground Graphic using
SHIFT+TAKEBAR. Moving the TAKEBAR without the SHIFT button held
down will adjust the luma-key level.
6) Press OK to exit the Foreground Graphic selection screen.
Note: Pressing the PLAY key, at any time, in the Foreground Graphic selection
screen immediately displays the Foreground Graphic on Main out. Pressing
SHIFT+PLAY will remove the Foreground Graphic from Main out.
