Installation Rack Mount
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Please consult a licensed electrician prior to connecting this product to a DC
power supply source. Hiring a licensed electrician to perform all connections is
recommended.
Consideration must be given to the connection of equipment to the supply
circuit, and the effect that overloading the circuits might have on overcurrent
protection and supply wiring. Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate
ratings should be used when addressing this concern.
To avoid personal injury or damage to the device, it is recommended that two or
more people mount the device on a rack.
NOTES
Disconnect the power before installing the device and FortiRPS 740.
Each AC power cable should be connected to a different power source.
The FRPS-740 requires two AC power connections, where each AC power
connection feeds one DC power supply.
Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained. Particular
attention should be given to supply connections other than direct connections
to the branch circuit, such as through a power strip.
Allow for 4 to 5 inches of rack depth to install the thick and firm DC cables.
When the device and FRPS-740 have been installed in the designated locations,
plug in the power connections.

Cautions and Warnings
Environmental Specications
Ambient operating temperature: 0C to 40C
Rack Mount Instructions - The following or similar rack-mount instructions are included with the installation instructions:
Elevated Operating Ambient - If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be
greater than room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum ambient
temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.
Reduced Air Flow - Installation of the equipment in a rack should be such that the amount of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
compromised.
Mechanical Loading - Mounting of the equipment in the rack should be such that a hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
Circuit Overloading - Consideration should be given to the connection of the equipment to the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the circuits
might have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Appropriate consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used when addressing this
concern.
Reliable Earthing - Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained. Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than
direct connections to the branch circuit (e.g. use of power strips).
Refer to specific Product Model Data Sheet for Environmental Specifications (Operating Temperature, Storage Temperature, Humidity, and Altitude).
