General:
1.ThisInstallation&Operating Manualcontainsimportantinstructionsandsafety
information on the Bottled BeverageRefrigerator(BBR). Readand understand
the contentsof thismanual before attemptingto: Uncrate, Install,Operate, Clean
orperformRoutine Maintenance.
2.The BBRisdesigned forthe refrigerated storage and easy drive-through crew
access tobottled beveragesthatrequirechilledstorage.
3.The BBRisnot designed fordrawdownchillingfromambient orroom
temperature, onlyformaintaining the temperatureof chilledproduct transferred
fromotherrefrigeratedstorage.
4.The BBRisdesigned forwall-mounted installationand operation indoors,inthe
drive-throughorrestaurant kitchen area protected fromweather, excessiveheat,
excessivehumidityand corrosivesalt air.
5.Onlypersonsover15 yearsoldmayoperatethisequipment, followingallsafety
and operating instructions.
6.The A-rated equivalent continuoussound[pressure]levelat the workstationfor
operatingpersonnelisbelow70 decibels.
Read, understandand obeyall WARNINGS, CAUTIONS and NOTES:
DuringInstallation -
Thisequipment must be installed byqualified personnel,incompliancewithall
manufacturer’sinstructionsand localbuilding,food safetyand electriccodes.
Caution! The shipping carton and pallet havebanding undertension,nailsorstaples
and possiblywood splinters.When uncrating,wearglovesand eyeprotection toreduce
the risk ofinjury.
Caution! The BBRcan weigh asmuchas210lbs. or114 kg. Donot attempt toremove
thisunit fromthe shipping cartonwithout the helpof others.
Caution! The BBRcan weigh asmuchas210lbs. or114 kg. Removedoorsand
shelvingtoreducecaseweight.Donotattempt tolift andwall-mount thisunit without
the helpof others.
WARNING! Wallpreparation and caseinstallationmust be done byqualified carpenters
and/orequipment installerscapableof evaluating wallconstruction andsecurelywall
mounting aheavy refrigerated case.
Important! Failuretoprovide 6”[minimum] top[ceiling] clearancemayshorten the
Bottled BeverageRefrigerator’slife,increasecompressorrun time, increaseenergy
usage andimpact unit warrantycoverage.
When LoadingProduct

CAUTION: Donot allowrefrigeratordoortoremainopen foranylongerthan the time
requiredtostockproduct orfillcustomerordersforthe beverage orproductrequired.
Keepingthe dooropen willreducerefrigeratedcompartment temperature,requirethe
compressortoworkharder, shorten unitlifeand potentiallyresultinaFOODSAFETY
problem.
DuringStoreClosing Procedure –
1.Thisunit must not be cleaned withahigh-pressurewaterjet orasteamcleaner.
2.UseonlyCleaning and Sanitizing Agentsapproved byMcDonald’sandspecified
forthisapplication intheirrestaurants.
DuringPreventative Maintenance –
WARNING! Verifythe refrigeratorisdisconnected fromthe powersourcebefore
attempting anypreventivemaintenance.Failuretodisconnect theelectricpowercould
resultinelectricshock,burns,injuriesordeath.
CAUTION! The finsonacondensercoilareverysharp, andsomerefrigerationlines
can be veryhotresulting inpossiblecutsand/orburns. Avoidphysicalcontact withthe
finson the condensercoiloranyrelatedrefrigeration lines. Glovesarerecommended.
CAUTION! The condensercoilislocated abovethe displaycompartment, whichis84-
inchesorseven feet abovefloorlevel. Individualperforming maintenanceshouldusea
ladderorsafe,stableworkplatformtoaccess and clean servicecompartment. Use
caution toavoidfallsand potentialinjuries.

and proceduresoutlinedinSection 8of thismanual.

1Uncrate the Unit
Thisunitwillarrivecratedinaskid-mountedcarton.
Caution! Theshippingcontainermayhave staples, nails,banding
undertensionand possiblewoodsplinters, whichcancause
injuries.Wearglovesand eyeprotectiontoreducetherisk of
injurywhenuncrating.
§Cuttheplasticbandingholdingthe cardboard cartonto the
shippingpallet, usingheavyscissorsortinsnips.Usecautionto
avoidcontactwith banding,whencut.
§Liftthe cardboard cartonstraight upand off unit.
§Cuttheplasticbandingthatholdstherefrigeratorto the shipping
pallet orskid.Usecautiontoavoidcontactwith banding,when
cut.
2LeaveUnitOnSkidUntilReadyToWall-Mount
§Peeltheprotective whiteadhesive film fromall stainlesssteel
surfaces[front& sides].
3Remove Packing&LooseComponents
TheBBRhastwoglassrollbackdoorsand loosecomponentsthat
have beensecuredsotheywon!topenorshiftduringshipping.
Remove anytape and blockingsecuringthefrontrollbackdoors.
Remove anyfoamblockingand tape usedtosecuretheproduct
displayshelves, if pre-installed. Remove thecartoncontaining
productshelf displaycomponentsandsetaside,if theyarenotpre-
assembled. SeparateShelf Set-UpInstructions[P/N:19001091] are
packedwiththeshelf components.
4Washand SanitizeUnit Interior& ShelvingComponents
CAUTION! TheBBR unitweighs up to210lbs.Do notattemptto
removethis unitfromtheshippingskidwithoutassistance.

UseonlyMcDonald!sapprovedcleaningand sanitizing
agentsaccordingtotheirinstructions.

§Identifywall-mounting
location[typically]withinthe
drive-througharea. The BBRis
typicallymounted
immediatelyright orleftof the
pass-throughwindow,onthe
adjacentwall,and abovethe
beverage/POS counterand
withineasyreachof thedrive-
throughcrewmember.See
diagramatright.

6ElectricalPreparation
§Beforeyou wall mountthisunit,locatethe
appropriate120-voltpoweroutlet,perthe
rough-in drawing(Figure2).Thismaybeawall
mountedoutletoroneprovidedontheoptional
verticalelectricchase. (See Figure1,previous
page)
§Asix-footpowercordwithgroundedplugis
providedwiththeBBR.Thiscordwill be
shippedinsidetheleftside[slopedandvented]
access panel. Twopowercordholeswith
protective edgeguardsareprovided,oneonthe
WARNING Wall preparationmustbe done byqualifiedcarpenters
and/or equipmentinstallers capableofevaluatingwall
constructionandsecurelywall mountingaheavyrefrigeratedcase.
Wall anchorfailurecouldcauseserious injuriesor even death.

§StandardMounting-
Themountingwall mustbe
preparedaccordingtotherough-in
drawingsshowninFigure2atright,
using1/2-inchthick[minimum]
plywoodsecurely anchoredtothe
wall structure,from5-feet(60-
inches)to8-feet(96-inches)above
thefinishedfloor.[NOTE:Useof ¾-
inchplywoodisrecommended.]

§Over-WindowMounting-
Somedrive-throughunitshave a
small sidewindowonthewall where
theBBRistobemounted. In this
case,thewall surfacemustbefurred
outwith1/2-inchthickminimum
plywoodoverthewindowframe,
whichwill allowsolidand
perpendicularBBRcasemounting.
[See Figure3atright.] In addition,the
windowshould beblackedoutor
closedoff toprovideafinishedlook
whenviewedfromthebuilding
exterior.

§Locatecenterpointof desiredcase-mountingpositiononwall
surface. Measureup 82 fromfloor forBBR-36 Model or80 for
BBR-45 Model, whichwill providea BBRunitbottom heightor
clearanceof 57 .
§Placethebottom of mountingstripatthemeasuredheightagainst
wall,oncenterwithyourmark.Levelthemountingstripwithasmall
spiritorlaserlevel. Mark locationof thesix
[minimum]screwholesinthemountingstrip. [See Fig.4]

§Drill six [minimum]pilotholesintheanchorwall.
§Securemountingstriptowall using#12x2"long[minimum]wood
screws.Makesuretopedgeof stripprotrudesfromwall,soflange
oncasecanslipbehindstrip. Rechecklevelof mountingstrip.
§Gethelpand liftunitfromsides.Liftituptoheightthatwill clear
mountingstripwithtop/rearframeflangeoncabinetthenslowly
lowercaseflushwithwall,toengagemountingstripalongfull
length.Ensurerefrigeratorframeflangeslipsbehindthemounting
strip,whileyou continuetosupportingweightof cabinet.NOTE:
Makesurepowercordisn!ttrappedorpinchedbehindunitduring
thiswall hangingprocess.

§IMPORTANT: Placespiritorlaserlevelontopof unitand verifyitis
levelleft-to-rightand front-to-back.[NOTE: Casecanbepitched
slightly torearbutnot pitchedforward.]
§Pluginpowercordat120-volt/60-Hzoutletidentifiedearlier.Any
excesspowercordcanbepushedbackthroughholeinleftside/top
ventedaccesspanel.
2ShelvingComponentSystem
TheBBRshelvingand productdisplaysystemhasbeendesignedtobe
flexible,spaceefficient,easytorestockand easytokeep clean.The
locationand positionof individualshelf componentsand dividerscanbe
changedtoaccommodatedifferentrefrigeratedbeveragesand other
approveditemsthatrequireeasy-access refrigeratedstorage.
