Printer Replacement
Follow these instructions when an existing printer is being
replaced in a TS-550evo.
Printer Removal
Disconnect power before opening the
console cover.
1. Loosen the screws on the upper and lower right
side of the console door and then open the tank
gauge front door.
2. Remove the front cover by unscrewing the (4)
screws as shown. Save the screws.

3. Remove the front plastic cover and set it aside.

4. Remove and save the (3) screws that secure the
printer.
Note: These are M3 X 1.34,6 mm, T10 Torx head screws.
5. Locate the printer connection ribbon cable.

6. Pull the printer forward and carefully pull the
ribbon cable away from the interface board.
Installing the New Printer
1. Carefully insert the ribbon cable (Figure 3) into the
connector on the Interface board.
2. Place the new printer in position and secure it with
the 3 screws shown in gure 2.
3. Reinstall the cover and secure it with the (4)
screws removed in Figure 1.
4. Lift up on the green panel to open the printer
and load paper (Figure 4). Make sure the roll is
oriented as shown.

Note: Do NOT load paper by setting the roll on the door.
Do NOT have paper wound loosely.

5. Close the printer door. Leave a small amount of
paper protruding when the door is closed.
6. Restore power to the tank gauge.
Printer Retrot
Follow these instructions when installing a printer into a
TS-550evo that does not have an existing printer.
1. Remove the front cover by unscrewing the (4)
screws as shown in Figure 1. Save the screws.
2. On the plastic front cover, remove the printer blank
by prying off the two bottom clips and the top
spring clip (Figure 6)
3. Press out the printer blank insert.

4. Use the at side of a screwdriver and push out the
3 plastic inserts on the inside metal cover.
5. Carefully insert the ribbon cable (Figure 3) into the
connector on the Interface board.
6. Place the new printer in position and secure it with
the 3 screws shown in gure 2.
7. On interface board located below the LCD display,
remove the jumper from (J9) (Figure 8).

8. Follow steps 3 through 6 under Installing the New
Printer.
Printer Operation Notes
• On rare occasions, when printing excessively long
reports at high ambient temperature, the printer may
need to pause momentarily. Printing will resume
automatically after a few seconds.
• An open printer door or no-paper will generate a Check
Printer alarm.
• If the console is printing but the text is not visible, check
paper roll orientation per Figure 4.
• The paper tear-bar is located at the top. Tear the paper
with a lifting motion (Figure 9).
