some filters when you first install your

IMPORTANT
Afterreplacingthefiltercartridge,itwillbenecessarytoresetthefilteruseup
indicatorthatislocatedontheiceandwaterdispenser(seeillustrationonpage
7).Pressthe"ChangeWaterFilter"pad.Iftheindicatorlightwasredoramber,
youwillneedtopressthepadfor3-5secondstoreset.Ifthelightisstillgreenyou
willneed topress thepadfor10-12secondstoreset.Thelightwillflash onand
off when reset is complete. Please refer to the complete dispenser operating
instructionsattachedtotheinsideofthefreezerdoor.
Changing the Filter:
Waterqualityvariesthroughout the world. To ensure thehighestpossible water
quality,changewaterfilterevery6months,or200 gallons. Also,iffilterhasbeen
inarefrigerator thathasnot beeninuse for awhile(duringmoving forexample),
changefilterbeforereinstallingrefrigerator. Notedispensersystemwillalsooperate
withoutfiltration(withfiltercartridgeremoved).
Tochangefilter:
RefertoFigure1asneeded.Itisnotnecessaryto turnthewatersupplyoff tochange
thefilter.
1.Set icemaker lever(wire signalarm) tothe OFF(up) position.
2.Hold filtercupfirmly, andunscrewcounter clockwise(Figure 1).(Somewater
couldleak outasyou removecup.This isnormal.) Filter cartridgeshould come
downwithcup. Ifcartridgeremainsinhousing,pulldowngently,while twisting
filterbackandforth.
3. Empty cup of any substance.
4.Thelargeo-ring(Figure1)thatsealsthefiltersystemsetsintheo-ringgroove
downinsidethecup.Shouldtheo-ringfalloutduringfiltercartridgereplacement,
simplyplace itbackinthegroove priorto screwingthe cupbackinplace.If the
o-ring becomes damaged, you will need to order a new one from the Consumer
AssistanceCenter.
5.Discardoldfiltercartridge.
6.Remove newfiltercartridgefrompackaging,andinstall.
7.Place filtercartridge incup.Theendwiththesmall o-ringshould beup, out
ofthecup.
8. Screw cup, with filter, back onto housing. DO NOT USE WRENCH TO REINSTALL
CUP.Filtercartridgewillself-alignascupistightened.Besurecupiscompletely
tightened with
PureSource Plus ™
Logo facing outward. DO NOT TIGHTEN PAST
STOP.
9. Set ice maker level on the ON (down) position.
10.Checkforleaks.Openrefrigerator door.Wipeanywaterdropsfromthefiltercup.
Runaglassofwater.Ifthereisaleak,unscrewfiltercup,andreinsertthefilter
cartridge.CheckplacementoflargeO-ring(seeFigure1).Reinstallfiltercup,
makingcertainitistightenedcompletely.
11.Toconditionfiltersystemandpurgeair fromwaterline,runseveral glassesof
water through waterdispenser.This will alsoassurethat the purestwater
possibleis storedinwater tank.
