Wider dynamic range
The FinePix S20 Pro employs a 1/1.7-inch
Super CCD SR, featuring 6.2 million
effective pixels (3.1 million S-pixels and
3.1 million R-pixels). Maximum image size
is a high-resolution 2832 ×2128 (6.03 mil-
lion) recording pixels.
A totally new concept in digital imag-
ing sensors, the Super CCD SR was
developed specifically to deliver greater
dynamic range than ever before. Fujifilm
drew upon its long experience in both film
manufacturing and digital sensor technol-
ogy to apply the essential structure of
color negative film to CCD design.
The unique new sensor configuration
achieves extremely expanded dynamic
range. This significantly boosts the sen-
sor’s ability to capture three-dimensional
realism with a full range of highlight tonal-
ity as well as superlative shadow detail
and textural rendition. No longer do you
have to worry about losing detail in shad-
ow areas or blowing out highlights, even
with high-contrast scenes.

6✕optical zoom plus 2.2✕digital
zoom
The FinePix S20 Pro features
a Super EBC Fujinon 6✕
optical zoom lens to offer a
focal range equivalent to
35-210mm on a 35mm camera. You also
have the option of smooth digital zooming
of up to 2.2✕(in 1280 ×960-pixel mode),
extending total zoom
range to approxi-
mately 13.2✕. In
addition to the zoom
button, you can man-
ually control focal
length by turning the zoom ring on the
lens barrel, just as you would with a con-
ventional SLR camera.
Wide range of ISO sensitivities
The FinePix S20 Pro lets you manually
select ISO-equivalent sensitivity from 200
to 1600*, just as you would choose film
type depending on subject and shooting
conditions.

telephoto power to 315mm equivalent.
Advanced functions for the working pro
Ready for a full range of commercial applications
The advanced performance and compact design of the FinePix S20 Pro promises to find use in a variety of professional applications
and even new photo businesses. The high-performance 6✕optical zoom, for example, can free you from the need to carry bulky long
lenses to location shoots. From studio portrait and wedding photography to baby photos, school photos, and event photos, the
FinePix S20 Pro can do the job. For use with customized applications such as ID photos and theme park attraction photos, an SDK
for FinePix S20 Pro is available to help system integrators to develop their own software.
HS-V2 software for smooth digi-
tal workflow
The optional HS-V2 Ver.2.0 software pack-
age includes RAW File Converter EX and
Camera Shooting software to give you full
flexibility with CCD-RAW files and camera
control from your PC. RAW File Converter
EX offers a number of advanced features,
allowing you to specify parameters such
as tonal curves, white balance, sharp-
ness, saturation, and brightness during file
conversion.
CCD-RAW file format
To preserve the utmost in image quality,
the FinePix S20 Pro is able to save cap-
tured images in CCD-RAW file format*.
The option is especially valuable when
you want to record the full, uncompressed
image data.
* CCD-RAW files can be converted into TIFF/JPEG files with the
RAW File Converter EX software.
High-speed USB and Firewire
interfaces
The FinePix S20 Pro offers both USB 2.0
and IEEE1394 (Firewire) interfaces to
rapidly transfer large amounts of image
data to your PC. Using the optional
Camera Shooting software, the IEEE1394
interface even allows you to control the
camera from your PC.

Bringing film-like quality to digital
Color negative film uses both low-sensitivity and high-
sensitivity layers for each of the primary RGB colors.
The Super CCD SR mimics this structure by pairing low-
sensitivity R-pixels with high-sensitivity S-pixels, employ-
ing extremely precise design and construction for each
pixel. By combining information from both types of sen-
sor elements, the Super CCD SR achieves wider
dynamic range along with higher sensitivity, greater res-
olution, and better signal-to-noise ratio.
