theoriginalpurchaserundernormalindooruse.Thiswarrantycoversalloriginal
labor,shouldyousendthelampintousforrepairs,andpartsexcludingthelight
bulbs.Thewarrantydoesnotcoverdamagetotheunitcausedbyabuse,faulty
householdwiring,weatherrelatedevents,orconditionsrelatedtonormalwear.All
warrantypartsmustbeshippedpre-paid in the original packagingandinsured
bytheconsumer.Anydamageincurredduringreturnshippingistheresponsibility
ofthecustomerandwillvoidanywarrantyclaim.Allshippingcostswillbethe
responsibility of the purchaser for shipping to and from the manufacturer. All

ASSEMBLY AND START UP:
• Allowthelampandbulbtoreachroomtemperaturebeforeassembly.
• Donotplugthelampintoanelectricalsocketuntilfullyassembled.
• Carefullyunpackthelamp.(Leavetheplasticwrapinplaceforprotectionuntil
assemblyiscomplete.)
• Gentlypullandfold½oftheexcesswireintothebottomof
thelamppole(Diagram 1).
• Slidethelamppoleoverthepostonthebase.Thescrew
hole in the post should line up with the hole in the base
(Figure A on page 2).
• Insert a screw into the hole and tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver
(Figure B on page 2).Makesurethescrewistightened.
• Gathertheremainingwireatthetopofthepole,folditinhalfandpushitinside
thepolesectionthathousestheswitch.
• Slidethetoppolethathousestheswitchoverthelargepolesectionsothat
thescrewholeslineup(Figure A on page 2).Makesurenowiresarepinched
intheprocess.InsertascrewintotheholeandtightenwithaPhillipshead
screwdriver(Figure B on page 2).
• Holdthebulbclosetotheplasticbaseratherthantheglassendandpushitinto
theheadofthelamp.Makesurethatthebulbisinallthewayandtheendof
thebulbissecuredbythemetalclip.See diagram on page 3.

• Leavethelamponthehighestsettingfortwohoursto“burnin”thebulbproperly
fordimming.
*Note -Youonlyneedtodothiseachtimeyouinstallanewbulb.
• Afteryouhavenishedthetwo-hour“burnin”periodyoucanstartdimming
thelamp.
General Recommended Use for Light Therapy:
• Lighttherapyneedsvaryfrompersontoperson.Generally,20-40minutes
oftherapyinthemorningisrecommended.Youdonotneedtostaredirectly
atthelamp.Lookinthedirectionofthelampwhilereadingorenjoyinga
meal,etc.
• BlueMax™70wlampsproduce10,000Luxatadistanceof18”and5,000
Luxat25”.Ifyoundituncomfortabletousethelightonhigh,simplyturn
thelightdownorsitfurtheraway.
*Note –Thismayrequireyoutoincreaseyourlighttherapysession.
• Youmayuseyourlampduringanytimeofday.However,itisrecommended
thatyoureducethelighttolowerlevelsintheeveningifyouhavebeen
exposedtohigherlevelsoflightduringtheday.
• Usingyourlightforworkprojects,displaysandart,aswellaslighttherapy
shouldbehandledlikeanyotherlightingenvironmentapplication.

Bulb Installation and Replacement:
Make sure to unplug the lamp before installing or replacing the bulb.
Placethebaseofthebulbintothesocketcarefully.Adjustthemetalclamp
aroundthebulb.Useyourngerstopulltheclamparoundthebulb.Tocomplete
installationandensurearmconnectionpressdownontheplasticbaseof
thebulbuntilitsnapsin.Youshouldfeelorhearitsnapintoplace.Refer to
Diagram Below.
*Note – Thewhitesiliconesubstancebetweenthebulbtubesactsasastabilizer
andshouldnotberemoved.
To Replace:
Tochangethebulb,carefullyreleasethebulbfromthemetalclipswhileholding
thebulbattheplasticbase.Slidethebulbawayfromthelampsocket.
Troubleshooting and Reset Instructions:
Step 1: Check Bulb for Damage
Makesurethatthebulbdoesnothaveanyvisibledamage,suchasacrackor
ahole.
Step 2: Check Bulb Installation
Takeacloselookatthebulbandthelampholdertochecktheconnection.The
maleconnectoratthebaseofthebulbmustbeinsertedsothatyoucannotsee
anypartofit.Youshouldfeelorhearitsnapintoplace.Refer to diagram above.
Ifyoucannotgetthebulbtostayinthesocket,seeifthemetalclipthatholdsthe
bulbisoff-center.Itcanberepositionedifitis.Themetalclipisscrewedonto
ametalstripthatrunsthelengthoftheheadofthelamp.Youcanremovethe
metalstripfromthebackoftheheadofthelampbypullingdownonthemetal
clip.Thematerialthatisonthebackofthatmetalstripisasiliconesubstance
soitshouldre-adhereafteryoumovethemetalstriptore-centerit.Thesilicone
substanceisonlyinplacetopreventthemetalstripfromrubbingontheheadof
thelampduringtransit.
Step 3: Reset Lamp
Makesurethedimmerswitchisinthe“off”position.Unplugthelampandletitsit
forve(5)minutes.Turntheswitchtothehighestsetting(largestdot),thenplug
inyourlamp.Thelightshouldcomeonimmediately.
