The following list of hazards and precautions covers the
likely situations that may occur during this device's use.
If you are in a situation that is not described in this
manual, use common sense to use the device as safely
as possible. If you recognize a dangerous situation, do
not use the device.
2.1. USER
This device was developed for handling by older users
who have read and understood this manual. It must not
be used by persons (including children) with physical,
mental, or limited cognitive abilities or lack of
experience/knowledge.
Attention! Do not allow underage persons to use
this device.
Attention! Do not allow persons to use this device if
they do not understand these instructions. Familiarize
yourself with the device before using it by ensuring that
you know exactly where the controls and safety devices
are located and how to use them. If you are an
inexperienced user, we recommend practising a simple
working procedure, if possible, accompanied by an
experienced person.
The cutting tool of this device is very sharp. It is
dangerous to misuse it.
Attention! Lend this device only to familiar with this
device type and know how to operate it. Always lend
the device together with the operating instructions, so
that the new user can read and understand them
carefully.
This device is dangerous in the hands of untrained
persons.
2.2. PERSONAL SAFETY
Stay alert, watch what you do, and use common sense
when operating this device.
Avoid inhaling the exhaust fumes. This device produces
dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide, which can
cause dizziness, fainting, or death.
Do not use this device if you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol, or medication. A moment of
inattention while operating this device can cause
serious personal injury.
Do not use this device if any component is damaged.
Never use the device with defective safety devices or
without safety equipment.
Do not change the device controls or the engine speed
controls.
Remove all keys or tools from the device
and the working area before starting the
engine. A key or device that remains near
the device can be caught by a moving part of the
device and thrown away as a projectile, which can
cause injuries.
Do not expend yourself. Keep both feet firmly on the
ground and keep your balance. Do not use this device
on slopes of more than 15°. Stay alert when working or
moving the device on a hill. Be especially careful when
changing direction on an incline.
Hold the device by the handlebars with both hands and
always position your body behind the device.
Keep all body parts away from cutting elements and
moving parts while the device is running. Before
starting the device, make sure that the cutting element
does not contact any object. While working with the
device, a moment of carelessness can cause your
clothing or any other part of your body to be cut by a
knife from the device.
If you are an inexperienced user, we recommend that
you first practice on a flat surface.
If the device vibrates abnormally, stop the engine,
check the device, look for the possible cause and
correct it. If you cannot find the cause of the problem,
take the device to the service technician.
Do not touch the device's exhaust pipe while the engine is
running or shortly after it has been turned off.
The exhaust pipe of this device reaches high
temperatures during operation and keeps these
temperatures for some minutes after shutdown.
Do not let the device run unattended. If you need to

leave the device alone, switch off the engine, wait until
the cutting tool stops, and remove the plug from the
spark plug.
Keep stored tools out of reach of children.
2.2.1. WORK CLOTHING
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from
moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery, or long hair
can get caught on moving parts.
Use this device with suitable footwear. Never use this
device barefoot, with sandals or open shoes.
Wear the following protective equipment when using
this device:
-
Eye and hearing protection
-
Non-slip boots
-
Long work pants
The use of additional protective clothing and safety
measures reduces personal injury risk.
The noises caused by this device can cause
hearing damage. Use hearing protection.
If you frequently use this device, visit your doctor
regularly to check your hearing.
Attention! If you work with hearing
protection, you must pay more attention to
visual signs because your hearing is
impaired.
You should always have the following with you:
•
Tools
•
Signal band for the working area
•
Cell phone (for use in emergencies)
2.2.2. VIBRATIONS
When using this device for a more extended period, the
user is exposed to vibrations. It can lead to white finger
disease (Raynaud's phenomenon). This disease
reduces the touch of the hand and adjusts the
temperature, resulting in a lack of sensitivity in the
fingers and a burning sensation. This disease can
lead to nervous and circulatory problems and even
necrosis in the hands.
High vibrations and long exposure times contribute to
white finger disease. To reduce the risk, it is necessary
to take these recommendations into account:
•
Always wear gloves
•
Make sure to keep your hands warm
•
Take regular breaks
•
Always hold the device firmly by the handles
If you experience any white finger disease symptoms,
consult your doctor immediately.
2.3. SAFETY IN THE WORK AREA
Do not operate this device in potentially
explosive atmospheres or the presence of
flammable liquids, gases, and dust.
Never start the device in closed rooms like
living rooms or garages. This device emits
dangerous gases through the exhaust
pipe, which accumulate in the area,
making the air toxic and harmful to the health of
people, animals, and plants. Do not start the device
in a living room or enclosure. The exhaust gases and
fuel vapours contain carbon monoxide and harmful
chemicals. In the event of a concentration of gases
that accumulate due to poor ventilation, remove
anything that impedes the flow of clean air from the
work area to improve ventilation and do not return to
the work area unless you have adequately ventilated
the area and are certain that the ventilation is
sufficient to prevent this concentration of airborne
pollutants from returning.
The area within a radius of 15 meters around the device is
to be regarded as a danger area, into which nobody may
enter while the device is running (safety area). If
necessary, use ropes and warning signs to mark the
safety area.
Keep children and curious persons away from the working
area while operating this device. Distractions can lead
to a loss of control. Ensure that children, persons, or
animals do not enter your working area.
If the work has to be carried out by two or more
persons simultaneously, always check other
persons' presence and location to maintain a
sufficient distance between each person to ensure
safety.
Do not use this device at night, in fog or poor
visibility. Otherwise, the working area will not be
visible.
