assemblingandsecuringFlatlineVanCoproductstoyourvehicle,checkingthemounting
pointsandattachmentspriortouse,andregularlyinspectingtheproductsforwearand
ordamage.Wealwaysrecommendyouuseaprofessionaltoinstallanyaftermarket
accessoriestoyourvehicle.Ifyouhavenomechanicalexperienceandarenotthoroughly
familiarwiththeinstallationprocedures,youmusthavetheproductinstalledbya

STEP | 01 LAYOUT & INSTALL PREP
TheRearStorageBoxisdesignedtobecompatiblewithFVC
RearDoorPlatforms,butcanbemodifiedforinstallationwith
otherreardooraccessorysystems.
Theboxcomespre-assembledfromthefactoryandreadyto
bolton.Findthehardwarepackinsideandfamiliarizeyourself
withthecontents.
1.1 Dryfittheboxtoyourmountingsurfaceanddeterminethe
desiredheightofinstall.Ifyou’drathermeasure,seeFIG 2 for
distancesbetweenthemountingpoints.
1.2 IfyouareusingaproductotherthantheFVCRearDoor
Platform,markthebackoftheboxtomatchyouravailable
mountingpointsanddrillout(4)3/8”holesaccordingly.Plug
thefactoryholeswithprovidedhardware.
PRO-TIP: A table or stand of an appropriate height can be very
helpful during this install.
PRO-TIP: Masking tape can also be used to mark desired install
height.
NOTE - Modifying your Rear Storage Box for mounting to
products other than FVC Rear Door Platforms is done at your
own risk. If you don’t feel comfortable installing this on your
own, see our Find a Builder or Upfitter page to locate an
approved installer near you.

2.1 Openthetopdooroftheboxtoaccesstheuppermounting
holes.
2.2 Insert(1ea)3 ⁄ 8-16 x 1.25” Flanged Hex Head Screws and
3 ⁄ 8” Sealing Washers totheuppermountingholes.
2.3 Withhelp,liftandaligntopholeswithhardwaretothe
desiredheightofhorizontal3/8”sizedslotsoftheRear Door
Platform.
2.4 Reachingaroundtheplatform,attach(1ea)3 ⁄ 8” Flat
Washers totheboltandlooselythreadon(1ea)3 ⁄ 8” Nylon
Lock Nuts toholdtheboxinplace.
2.5 Openthelowerdoorandreleasebypullingoutthe
Downstay Rod fromtherailasshowninFIG 4.
2.6 Insert(1ea)3 ⁄ 8-16 x 1.25” Flanged Hex Head Screws and
3 ⁄ 8” Sealing Washers tothelowermountingholes.
2.7 Reachingaroundtheplatform,attach(1ea)3 ⁄ 8” Flat
Washers totheboltandlooselythreadon(1ea)3 ⁄ 8” Nylon
Lock Nuts toholdtheboxinplace.
2.8 Verifypositioningandtightendownhardwareto20 ft-lbs
2.9 AffixSealing Plugs todrainholesinthebottomofthebox
tray.
NOTE - The weight limit for items placed on the lower door is
25lbs when in the open position.

UPPER DOOR HEIGHT
3.1 Theupperdoorheightcanbeadjustedbymovingthestrut
fromthefactorylocationtothesecondarylocationasshown
inFIG 7.TheM8 Nut holdingthestrutinplacecanberemoved
usinga13MM Wrench.
NOTE - This can help door clearance when utilizing the space
above your Rear Storage Box for mounting things like bikes,
gas canisters, etc.
COMPRESSION LATCHES
3.2 Usinga10MM Wrench,loosentheJam Nut (FIG 8) to
adjusttheCompression Bolt andretightenthenutwhen
adjustmentiscomplete.
Screwtheboltouttoincreasesealcompressionandscrewthe
boltintodecreasesealcompression.
3.3 Withbothdoorsclosed,testcompressionandlatch
function.Whenadjustedproperly,youshouldbeabletofeel
thelatchcompresslightlyagainstthesealforasecurehold.
Verifythelockingmechanismisworkingproperlyandthatthe
releasebuttonoperatessmoothly.

BUTTON LATCH
3.4 Usingtwo10MM Wrenches,loosentheBall Stud andadjust
asneeded.TightenJam Nuts andverifyadjustmentbyclosing
thedoor.Doorshouldclickintoplaceeasily,releasesmoothly,
andachievesealcompression.
MovingtheBall Stud inwardwillincreasesealcompression,
movingtheBall Stud outwardwilldecreasesealcompression.
Verifysealisatleast50%compressedintheareaneartheBall
Stud.
NOTE - Do not force the latch closed. If compression is too tight,
damage to the latch could occur.
DOOR HINGES
3.5 Theadjustabletorquehingescanbeadjustedusinga5MM
Allen Wrench.TightentheHinge Pivot Bolt toincreasetorque,
loosenHinge Pivot Bolt todecreasetorque.
NOTE - We recommend increasing the torque on the lower door
hinge. The adjustment helps minimize the door from slamming
during opening if accidentally dropped. Tighten hinges equally
and test opening to achieve desired feel.
NOTE - We also recommend verifying the top door hinges are
only lightly tightened to ensure smooth operation.

4.3 Setinplaceusingmiddleholdingslotsandtwo1/4-20 Hex
Bolts.
4.4 Tightenshelfusingtopmostholeand1/4-20 Hex Bolt.
4.5 Replacehardwareforbottom-mostmountingpointswith
hardwarefromthemiddleholdingslotsandtightendown.
