and clearing of logged faults as well as changing vehicle con-
guration and / or settings. It is designed for use by very well-

1 Introduction
1.1 IIDTool objectives
The IIDTool was designed to achieve four objectives in order to meet the demands of Land Rover
ownersforautonomyintheireorts.
• Diagnosemechanicalproblemsormalfunctionsresultingfromelectrical/electronicproblems
• Participateintherepairprocesstobemoreecientandtimely
• Customizecertainvehiclecomponents
• AdministerECUsofthevehicle,includingupdating
Note: The IIDTool is not a repair tool, but can help identify the cause of a problem. Achieving the
Objectives is done by using IIDTool functions (section 1.4 and section 4) in a dened sequence (see
section 3).
1.2 Description of each IIDTool models
IIDTool (regular)
Short for “Integrated Interface Diagnostic Tool”. A diagnostic tool using an integrated interface, soli-
citing vehicle components for display and control.
IIDTool BT
Diagnostic tool equipped with a Bluetooth Smart transceiver that can be used in conjunction with a
mobile device such as a tablet or smartphone. The integrated interface can also be used as needed.
IIDTool Pro
Diagnostic tool designed for professionals. Also equipped with the Bluetooth transceiver. The integra-
ted interface can also be used as needed.
Note : To lighten the text of this manual, the term IIDTool will be used to designate the IIDTool “regular”,
IIDTool BT and IIDTool Pro when no distinction apply.
The following diminutives are used in this document to separate items that are either related to
the integrated interface II or exclusive to IIDTool BT or IIDTool Pro.
II: The diminutive IIindicatesspecicfeaturesassociatedwithusageoftheintegratedinterface(all
tools).
BT : The diminutive BT indicatesspecicfeaturesassociatedwithusinganIIDTool BT.
