MinimumClearancesfromcombustiblematerials

Hose & Regulator Safety
Theregulatorandhoseassemblysuppliedwiththe
appliancearesuitableforpropanegasonly.
Agasregulatoradjustedtohaveanoutlet
pressureof2.75kPAissuppliedforconnectionto
thepropanegascylinder.Thepressureregulator
andhoseassemblysuppliedwiththeappliance
mustbeused.Replacementpressureregulators
andhoseassembliesmustbethosespeciedby
theappliancemanufacturer.
Whenconnectingthehoseandregulatorassembly
tothegascylinder,takecaretoavoidunnecessary
twistingorkinkingoftheexiblehose.
Aftertheassemblyhasbeensecured,turnonthe
gasandcheckforleaksbybrushingasoapand
watersolutionoverallconnections.
Ifyouareunabletocorrecttheleakbytightening
the connections, turn off the gas and contact the
supplierimmediately.
Alwaysensuretheapplianceiskeptawayfrom
ammablematerialsandthegascylinderclear
ofanyheatsource.Whenchangingoverfrom
anemptygascylindertoafullonemakesure
thisprocedureiscarriedoutinawell-ventilated
location,preferablyoutsideawayfrompeopleand
anysourcesofignition,suchasnakedames,
pilotames,electricheaters/equipment.

Gascylindersshouldbestoredoutdoorsinawell
ventilatedareaoutofreachofchildren.Anyindoor
storageshallcomplywithAS/NZS1596.
Onlyusethehoseassemblyassuppliedwiththis
applianceforconnectiontothecylinder-DONOT
USEADAPTORS.
Maximumhoselengthis100cm.
Afteruse,turnthegascylindervalveoff,waitfor
theametogoout,andthenturntheappliance
controlvalve(s)off.
Avoidtwistingorkinkingtheexiblehose.
Ifthereisaleakonyourappliance(smellofgas)
immediatelyattempttoturnoffthecylindervalve.
Removetheappliancetoawellventilatedlocation
awayfromanyignitionsource.Checkforleaks
usingsoapywater.Donottrytodetectleaksusing
aame.
Ifyoustoreyourapplianceindoors,ALWAYS
disconnectthecylinderrstandstoreitsafely
outside.Cylindersmustbestoredoutdoorsina

thismanual.
Note:Removeanytransitprotectionmaterial
Check:
1.Thecylinderislled.Asloshingsoundwillbe
heardwhenshaken.
2.Theburnercontrolsareinthe‘OFF’position
Connecting:
1.Ensurecylindervalveisinitsfulloffposition.
2.Checkforanydamagetoeitherthecylinder
connectionorthehose.NEVERattempttouse
damagedequipment.
3.Whenconnectingthehosetothecylinder
tightenthenuttoapositivestopbyhand
orspanner.
4.Leaktestallconnectionswithasoapy
watersolution.
5.Locatethegascylinderasafedistanceaway
fromtheapplianceensuringthatthehoseisnot
incontactwiththelidorbody.
Disconnecting:
1.Ensuretheburnercontrolsareinthe
‘OFF’position.
2.Ensurecylindervalveisinthefulloffposition.
Lighting the Stove
1.Turnthecontrolknobanti-clockwise1/4ofa
turnandlightwithamatchorcigarettelighter.
2.Theamecanberegulatedfromhightolow.

Aswithallappliances,propercareand
maintenancewillkeepthemintopoperating
conditionandprolongtheirlife.Byfollowing
thesecleaningproceduresonatimelybasis,your
appliancewillbekeptcleanandworkingproperly
withminimumeffort.
Flash-Back
Spidersandsmallinsectsoccasionallyspin
websormakenestsintheburnertubesduring
warehousingandtransit.Thesewebscanleadto
agasowobstructionwhichcouldresultinare
inandaroundtheburnertubes.
Thistypeofreisknownas‘FLASH-BACK’and
cancauseseriousdamagetoyourapplianceand
createanunsafeoperatingconditionfortheuser.
Althoughanobstructedburnertubeisnottheonly
causeof‘FLASH-BACK’itisthemostcommon
causeandfrequentinspectionandcleaningofthe
burnertubesisnecessary.
Ifreoccursinandaroundtheburner,
immediatelyturnoffgasatitssourceandturnthe
burnercontrolto‘OFF’,waituntiltheappliance
hascooled,thencleantheburnertubesand
burnerports.
Service
Iftheappliancecannotbeadjustedtoperform
correctlyitshouldnotbeuseduntilservicedor
repaired.ContactSitroGroupAustraliaforspare
partsandserviceinformation.
Thisappliancemustonlybeservicedbyan
authorisedperson.

Theinjectorscanbecleanedbyremovingthem
andsoakinginpetrol.

SAFE APPLIANCE LOCATIONS

withoutstagnantareas,wheregasleakageand
productsofcombustionarerapidlydispersedby
windandnaturalconvection.
Any enclosure in which the appliance is used
shall comply with the following:
Anenclosurewithwallsonallsides,butatleast
onepermanentopeningatgroundlevelandno
overheadcover(seeExample1).
Withinapartialenclosurethatincludesan
overheadcoverandnomorethantwowalls
(seeExample2&3).

Within a partial enclosure that includes an
overhead cover and more than two walls, the
following will apply:
atleast25%ofthetotalwallareaiscompletely
open,andatleast30%oftheremainingwallarea
isopenandunrestricted(seeExample4&5).
