To preventoverheating from taking place, the vent

Q. Are there any particular trivets
that work betterthan others?
A, Yes,flat glasstrivets suchaslids
or dish coversgenerally give more
even cooking results than plastic
trivets. Also, ceramic ridge-
bottomed roasting dishes usually
work well. Plastic trivets generally
require meat to be turned over
more frequently becausethe grid
design and legs allow the bottom
of the meat to stay cooler as it
cooks,than glasstrivets do.
Q. Is it necessaryto always cover
foods during Auto Roast?
A. No, but aloose covering helps
prevent spattering and hold mois-
ture in food.
Q. Why was my roast not fully
cooked even though the tempera-
ture on the readout was correct
and Auto Roastcompleted?
A. Whencooking with Auto Roast,
the temperature probe must be
insertedproperly asfully described
intheCookbook.Afterturning meat
over or rotating, the probe should
be checked to make sure it hasn’t
slipped or changed position.
Q. Last time Iused Auto Roast ‘–
Iremovedthe roast from the oven
to turn it over, When Ireplaced
roast in ovenand reconnectedthe
meat probe, alower temperature
appeared,Why?
A. The oven and roast may have
cooled to below the temperature
when you removed it, wprobe
may havebeenrepositioned. Con-
tinue roasting and numbers will
soon count upward again.
