ANti-TIPDEVICE
•All ranges can tip.
•BURNS or other SERIOUS
INJURIES can result.
•INSTALLand CHECKthe
ANTI-TIP bracket following
the instructions supplied
with the bracket.
Toreduce the risk of tipping the range, the range must be
secured by a properly installed anti-tip bracket. See installation
instructions shipped with the bracket for complete details
before attempting to install.
Tocheck if the bracket is installed and engaged properly,
remove the storage drawer or kick panel and look underneath
the range to see that the leveling leg is engaged in the bracket.
On models without a storage drawer or kick panel, carefully tip
the range forward. Thebracket should stop the range within
4 inches. If it does not, the bracket must be reinstalled. If the
range is pulled from the wall for any reason, always repeat
this procedure to verify the range isproperly secured by the
anti-tip bracket.
Never completely remove the leveling legs or the range will not
be secured to the anti-tip device properly.
It you did not receive an anfi-dp bracket with your
purchase, call 1.800.626.8774 to receive one at no
cost (in Canada, call 1.800.561.3344). For installation

RADIANTSURFACEUNITS
Use care when touching the cooktop. Tile
glass surface of the cooktop xdll retain heat
•after the controls have been turned ore
Keep an eye on foods being flied at high
or medium high heat settings.
Foods for fiTing should be as dUas
possible. Frost on fiozen foods or moisture
on fiesh foods can cause hot fat to bubble
up and over the sides of the pan.
Use little fat for effective shallow or deep
fat fiTing. Filling the pan too full of fat can
cause spillovers when food is added.
If a combination of oils or fats will be
used in fiTing, stir together before heating,
or as fats melt slowly.
Always heat fat slowly, and watch as it heats.
Use a deep fat thermometer whenever
possible to prevent overheating fat beyond
the smoking point.
Avoid scratching the glass cookmp.
The cooktop can be scratched with items
such as sharp instruments, tings or other
jeweh T, and rivets on clothing.
Do not operate the radiant surface units if
the glass is broken. Spillovers or cleaning
solution may penetrate a broken cooktop
and create a risk of electrical shock.
Contact a qualified technician immediately
should your glass cookmp become broken.
Never use the glass cooktop surface as
a cutting board.
Do not place or store items that can melt
or catch fire on the glass cooktop, even
when it is not being used.
Be careful when placing spoons or other
stirring utensils on glass cookmp surface
when it is in use. They may become hot
and could cause burns.
Clean the cooktop with caution. If a wet
sponge or cloth is used to wipe spills on a
hot surface unit, be careful to avoid smam
burns. Some cleaners can produce
noxious fumes if applied to a hot surface.
NOTE: We recommend that you avoid
wiping any surface unit areas until they
have cooled and the indicator light has
gone ot_; Sugarspills are the exception
to this. Please see the Cleaning the glass
cooktop section.
When the cooktop is cool, use only
CERAMA BRYTE ®Ceramic Cooktop
Cleaner and the CERAMA BRYTE _>
Cleaning Pad m clean the cookmp.
To avoid possible damage to the cooking
surface, do not apply cleaning cream to
the glass surface when it is hot.
After cleaning, use a dUcloth or paper
towel m remove 'all cleaning cream
residue.
Read and follow all instructions and
warnings on the cleaning cream labels.
i,arge scratches or impacts m glass doors
or cooktops can lead to broken or
shattered glass.
Do not leave any items on the cooktop.
The hot air fiom the vent may i_fite
flammable imms and will increase pressure
in closed containers, which may cause
them to burst.
Do not leave plastic or flammable items
on the cooktoD---they may melt or ignim
if left too close to the vent.
Do not lift the cooktop. Lifting the
cooktop can lead to damage and improper
operation of the range.

OVEN
Stand away from the range when opening the oven door. Hot air or steam which escapes can cause
bums to hands, face and/or eyes.
Do not heat unopened food containers.
Pressure could build up and the container
could burst, causing an in,ju U.
Keep the oven vent unobstructed.
Keep the oven flee from _ease buildup.
Place the oven shelf in the desired position
while the oven is cool. If shelves must be
handled when hot, do not let pot holder
contact the heating elements.
When using cooking or roasting bags in
the oven, follow the manuf`acturer's
directions.
Do not use the oven to d_T newspapers.
If overheated, they can catch on fire.
Do not use the oven for a storage area.
Items stored in an oven can ignite.
Do not leave paper products, cooking
utensils or fk)od in the oven when not
ill use.
Do not use aluminum foil to line
oven bottoms. Improper installation
of aluminum foil may result in a risk
of electric shock or fire.
Pulling out the shelf to the stop-lock is a
convenience in lifting hem T foods. It is 'also
a precaution against burns from touching
hot surfaces of the door or oven walls.
SELF-CLEANINGOVEN
Do not use oven cleaners. No commercial oven cleaner or oven liner protecfive coating of any kind
should be used in or around any part of the oven. Residue from oven cleaners will damage the inside
of the oven when the self-clean cycle is used.
Do not clean the door gasket. The door iiiiiiiii
gasket is essential for a good seal. Care
should be taken not to mb, damage or !!!!_i!
move the gasket.
Before self cleaning the oven, remove
shiny, silver-colored oven shelves (on some
models) and all other cookware or they
may discolor.
(;ray porcelain-coated oven shelves (on
some models) may be cleaned in the oven
during the self clean cycle.
Be sure to xdpe off excess spillage before

NOTE: Foods that spoil easily--such as milk, eggs, fish, stuffings, poultry and pork--should not be allowed to sit for
more than 1hour before or after cooking. Room temperature promotes the growth of harmful bacteria. Be sure that
the oven light is off because heat from the bulb will speed harmful bacteria growth.

Thetypeofmargarine will affect bakingperformance!
Most recipes for baking have been developed using high-fat products such as butter or margarine (80% fat). If you
decrease the fat, the recipe may not give the same results as with a higher-fat product.
Recipe failure can result ff cakes, pies, pastries, cookies or candies are made with low-fat spreads. Thelower the fat
content of a spread product, the more noticeable these differences become.
FedetM standards require products labeled "margarine" m contain at least 80% fat by weight. I,ow-fat spreads,
on the other hand, contain less fat and more wamt. The high moisture content of these spreads aff>cts the
mxture and flavor of baked goods. For best results with your old favorim recipes, use margarine, butter or
stick spreads containing at least 70% vegetable oil.
