Enclosed you will find a Software Update Module kit which
can be used to upgrade the software on your refrigerator.
As part of GE’s continuous product improvement efforts, GE
is providing this part to help maintain the performance of
your product and prevent a service call.
1) If you have spoken with a GE call representative
regarding this Software Update Module, and do not have a
service call scheduled, please follow the installation
instructions included in the kit to upgrade your refrigeration
software.
2) If you have a service call scheduled, please give this
Software Update Module kit to the servicer when he arrives
at your home.

Listed below are the installation instructions to update the software on your GE Appliance.
This software update should improve the performance of your refrigerator.
Parts Needed:
•Software Update Module
•Connector cable
Software Update Module Connector Cable
Instructions:
1) The Refrigerator needs to be plugged in and operating before updating the software.
2) Remove the grommet from the input jack if present. Connect one end of the cable to the
input jack on top of the GE Refrigerator (see picture). The input jack is above the left door,
seven inches from the front of the door. You may need to move your refrigerator out slightly to
access this input jack.

3) Connect the other end of the Cable to the Software Update Module. The software
transfer will begin automatically once the module is connected to the appliance. When the
software update starts, your refrigerator will shut down. e lis n e ispense

 The Software Update Module has a green LED light and an orange LED light (see picture).
When the cable is connected, the orange light will be on solid and the green light will be
blinking as the software is being uploaded into the appliance. This software transfer may
take up to 15 minutes.  n npl e sae le nil e sae pae is

 The software update is complete when the green light stops blinking and turns solid
(both the green and orange light should now be solid). You can now disconnect the
software update module from the appliance. e lis n e eiea ill ce ac

Troubleshooting – If both the green and orange lights are blinking, the software update for
your appliance was not successful. The lights will blink rapidly followed by a 5 second
pause. Please count the number of times the lights blink between pauses and call
  seice Please return the Software Update Module to GE in the
pre-addressed, stamped envelope.
