If you turn your householdthermostat down to 60° each
evening, youmayfind itdesirableto turn your letteredcon-
trol to colder setting byone letter, suchasfrom “C” to “D”
and leave it at this setting during the entire periodthatyou
are setting the householdthermostat down each evening.
The numbered setting will not likely need to be changed;
however,if youexperiencefreezinginFreshFoodcompart-
ment, you could set the numbered control one number
warmer—suchas“5” to “4:’
if acontainer of milk is too warm or too cold to your pref-
erenceafter beingon topshelf in FreshFoodcompartment
for aday,adjust TemperatureControlsaccordingly.
WhenFreshFoodcompartmenttemperatureissatisfactory,
make the ice cream test. If ice cream remainsfirm to the
touch after being in Freezercompartment for aday,Tem-
perature Controls are at proper setting. If the ice cream’s
firmness isnot to your liking, adjust controls accordingly.
Checkadayafter resetting either control to makesurethe
new setting is providing the temperature you desire.
If you advancethe /ettered control to “1?’to freeze aquick
supply of ice cubes or alarge amount of food, be sure to
reset the control to its previoussetting within aday.
