WATER HEATERSAFETY
Under certain conditions, hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used
for two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive under these circumstances.
If the hot water hasnot been usedfor two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of damage or injury byturning
on all hot water faucets and allowing them to run for several minutes.Dothis before using any electrical appliance
which isconnected to the hot water system.Thissimple procedure will allow any built-up hydrogen gas to escape.

WaSh Cycles-Cycle Selector Knob
he wash cycle controls the length of the washing process.The knob can be turned in either direction. Turning the CycleSelector knob after
starting a cycle will stop the washer and resetthe cycle to the new selection. PressStart to begin the new cycle selection.

Options
Autosoak
This option beginswith a brief agitation, soaks for a specified period of time, then movesthrough the rest of the cycle automatically. On
some models,this option is located on the CycleSelector knob.
Extra Rinse
When you useextra detergent or bleach to clean heavily soiled clothes,use the Extra Rinseoption to better remove additional residues.
Fabric Softener
Setthis option when adding fabric softener to the washer or to selectthe enhanced Power Rinse.
NOTE:Do not usefabric softener dispensing bolls with thiswasher. Theydo not work correctly in high efficiency washers.
Delay Wash
Onsome models, asthe Delay Wash pad isrepeatedly pressed,the delay time setsto 50 minutes, ! hour,5 hours, 6 hours, 9 hours, and
back to clear (0 minutes).
Onother models, as the Delay Wash pad isrepeatedly pressed,the delay time sets to 2 hours, 4 hours, 8 hours, and back to clear (0 hours).
Forall models, ifthe Delay Wash pad ispressed for 5 seconds, it clears (regardlessof the delay time).
Signal
Usethe Signal pad to change the volume of the end of cycle signal. Pressthe pad until you reach the desired volume or off.
Settings
Individual settings for agitation (Soil),water temperature (Temp), and spin (Spin) can be set from the minimum (lowest in column) to
maximum (highest in column). In general, the higher up the column, the more energy will be used.
Load Size
- Forconvenience,bestperformanceandoptima}efficiency,selectPreciseEilLThisselectionautomaticallyprovidesthe correctamountofwater suitedto
thesizeandtypeofloadplacedinthe unit.NOTE:Thewasher will not fill with water when PreciseFill is selected if the lid isopened.
- Ifyoupreferto manuallyselectthewaterlevel,selectSmellthroughSuper.WhilePreciseFillisbestformost}oudsandgenera}washing,youmaywant to
manuu}lyselectthe bad sizeforspecialtyitemssuchusbulky,lightweightcomfortersor pillows,whereyouwant toensurea largerwaterlevelisupplied.
Hanua}bad sizeselectionsshouldbemadefor wetitemsplacedinthe washer,suchassoakedtowelsor garments.
Power
Pressto "wake up" the display. If the display is active, press to put the washer into idle mode.
NOTE:Pressing POWERdoes not disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
Start
PressStart to beginthe cycle.NOTE:Thelid must be closed for the washer to fill and the cycle to start. PressingStart again will Pause the
cycle and the Cycleindicator light will blink.
Tocontinue the cycle, pressStart again or close the lid.If machine is paused more than 24 hours,the cycle will be cancelled. To stop the
cycle,hold the pad for 3seconds.Ifwater remains inthe machine, select the Drain &Spin cycle to drain tub and spin water out of the
washer tub.
Raisingthe lidwill stop agitation or spin action but does not pause the cycle.
eWash (on some models)
When the eWash pad is pressed,the cycle changes to its most energy efficient settings and all of the e!onitor lights will light to indicate
that the most efficient settings are on.Ifyou change settings,the number of eMonitor lightswill decrease (or increase)to indicate decreased
or increased energy efficiency settings.
Display (onsomemodels)
The display shows the approximate time remaining until the end of the cycle.
NOTE:Thecycle time isaffected by how long it tokes the washer to fill.Thisdepends on the water pressure inyour home. The "smart" timer
"learns"the amount of time it tokesto fill your washer and adjusts the total time accordingly.
In addition, this display will, "scroll" the washer status:
•bALANCING Start of rebalancing cycle to redistribute clothes.Stopsafter rebalancing iscomplete.
dELAY When Delayed Wash is initiated. Replacedwith estimated time when cycle starts.
End Endof current cycle.
FILL Forthe first/45 secondsof afill,the estimated end of cycle time isdisplayed. Forthe rest ofthe fill time,"FILL"isscrolled
until the fill completes.
LID Cyclestopped because lid isopen. Closethe lid.
•PAUSE Cyclepaused because the Start/Pause pad was pressedand the washer was setto Pause.PressStart pad again to
restart the cycle.
Indicator lights
Five LEDlights indicate the current washer status moving from left to right as the cycle progresses.

Do not pour anything into the
agitator if the agitator cap or
dispenser is removed.
The Fabric Softener Dispenser
Theagitator cap fits into the top of the agitator.
If it accidentally comes off, simply put it back
on.
Thefabric softener dispenser automatically
releases liquid fabric softener at the proper time
during the cycle.
Do not stop the washer or raise the lid during
the first spin. This will cause the dispenser to
empty too soon.
To use, follow these steps:

on package.
Never pour fabric softener directly on clothes.

Cleaning the Fabric Softener Dispenser (on some models)
[_ Remove the dispenser from the top of the agitator.
r-_l Separatethe dispenser cup from the cover by grasping the top and pushing down on the
inside ofthe cup with your fingers. Dispensercup will pop free from the cover.
F_To clean the dispenser,soak both the dispenser cup and the dispenser cover inthe following
solution:
[] ! USgallon (3.8liters)warm water
[] !/4 cup (60ml)heavy-duty liquid detergent
[] ! cup (240 ml)bleach
r411f necessary,loosen buildup with a clean, soft cloth after soaking. Donot usea stiff brush;you
may roughen the surface of the dispenser.

Liquid Bleach Funnel
Thewater fill dilutesliquid chlorine bleach asthe washer fillsfor the wash cycle.

ProperUse of Detergent
Add detergent before adding items sothat the
detergent can work effectively. Usingtoo little or
too much detergent isa common cause of laundry
problems.
Forspots,apply pre-treatment to items as
recommended on the product label. Application
should be made in the basket to prevent overspray
which may cause the coloring on the lid or graphics to
fade.
You can uselessdetergent ifyou havesoft water, a
smaller load or a lightly soiledload.
When using high efficiencyor concentrated
detergents, consult the product label to determine
amount required for optimum performance. Excessive
detergent will negatively impact wash performance.
LoadingtheWasher
Load dry items looselyin the washer basket. Forbest
results,load items evenly and loosely around the
outside ofthe basket.Toadd itemsafter washer has
started, lift the lid and submerge additional items
around the outside of the basket.
[] Do not placelarge items acrossthe InfusorTM. Load
them around the outside of the basket.
[] Do not wash fabrics containing flammable materials
(waxes, cleaning fluids, etc.).
