WATERHEATERSAFETY
Under certain conditions hydrogen gas may be produced in a water heater that has not been used for
two weeks or more. Hydrogen gas can be explosive under these circumstances.
If the hot water has not been used for two weeks or more, prevent the possibility of dmnage or iqjury by
turning on all hot _ter fimcets and allowing them to mn fin" several minutes. Do this befin'e using any
electrical appliance which is connected to the hot water system. This simple procedure will allow any
built-up hydrogen gas to escape. Since the gas is flammable, do not smoke or use an open flame or
appliance during this process.

About the washer control settings.
Color Logic
Select the correct TEMPERATUREsetdng. Match the })articular color below the words
with the same color on the WASH/SPINSPEEOsetting. Next, match the color again
with the same color on the Cycle Selector knob,
Example:Washing a load of medium soiled cotton towels and sheets.
_] Choose the LOADSIZE.

_Custom Care Wash/Spin Speeds
The agitator moves clothes arotmd fin" a cleaner wash; the basket spins later
in the cycle to release water fl'om the load. The _,_ash/Sl)in Speed dial sets the
speed of both the agitator and the basket.
Wash Speeds
With Normal Speed, the agitator will move at a high speed fin" the ti_t
few minutes, then it slo_:s down to a moderate speed. This gets your clothes
clean while reducing wear on yore" clothing. Use fin" cottons, denims and
play clothes.
With Gentle Speed, the agitator moves slower: Use fin" delicate and
knit items.
With Hmldwash, the agitntor will nlove slowl) and will pause fi)r periods to
allow the clothes to soak. Use for items labeled handwash.
With Casuals, the agitntor will agitate and then pause to soak xom" clothes.
It I_r°vides a ,gender win, to wash _our wrinkle-fl'ee and pemmnent press items
and knits.
Spin Speeds
The Fast spin speed is for nomml items. Use it to relnoxe more water from
xour clothes to allow them to (h_' elster in the (ha'e_:
The Slow spin speed is for delicate items like sweaters and lingerie. _._q_en
using, Slow Slfin speed, clothes will be less dr_ than when usim,._ Fast spin speed.
Temperature

Wash Cycle
The wash cycle controls the length ot the washing process. The knob can be turned in either
direction. Turning the Cycle Selector knob alter starting a cycle will stop the washer and reset
the cycle to the new selection, Press START to begin the new cycle selection.

The Cycle Indicator I,ights show what stage the washer is in. The wash time is the length of the
wash agitation. The 6MIN light will remain lit during drain and spin. When the Selector knob
is set to a new cycle the Indicator Lights will flash momentarily, showing what stages the cycle
will go through. On models without an AUTO SOAKoption, the SOAKlight will not light up.

to use the 2rid Rinse option. It provides a second deep cold rinse.
Extended Spin Option (onsome models)
Lrse this option to extract more water from your clothes. (_h)thes will be drier when
this option is selected, and will dry more qtfickly in wmr drver.
Signal Off Option (onsome models)
Some models have asignal that will sound at the end oI the cycle. Use this option to
mrn oiI the signal.
PerfecTemp
PerfecTemp (on some models)
Per?ecTemp senses the incoming water temperature and adjusts the fill water to obtain
a more precise temperature range for all three wash temperatures. You may select cold,
warm or hot. For example, in aCold Wash selection, some warm water may be added
to reach ateml)eratm'e needed to better dissolve detergents, Often, detergents are not
completely dissolved in very cold water, especially in cooler climates.
NOTE: PerfecTemp will not at!just the fill on WARM WASH tmless the washer lid is
closed. Be sure to start the washer after the lid is closed.

The Agitator Cap or Fabric Softener Dispenser (depending onmodel)
The agitator cap fits into the top of the _ Add water to dispenser until it

in the following solution:

• 1/4 cup (60 ml) heavy-duty liquid detergent

Liquid Bleach Dispenser
