Wireless app-enhanced:
■Smarter than your average speaker, free app
available from the App Store;
■Use your iPod touch, iPhone or iPad to
control the speaker, wirelessly. Simply pair
your device with the speaker via Bluetooth
and launch the Smartlink Wireless app.
■Stream music wirelessly from the iPod touch,
iPhone or iPad in your hand over Bluetooth,
without having to dock. You can do this from
the music library on your device or through
the SmartLink Wireless app.
■Auto-tune and save your favourite FM
stations wirelessly from the app.
■Auto-sync time and alarms between your
iPhone and the speaker. Dim both screens
using swipe gestures on the clock display.
You can also do this wirelessly when
connected via Bluetooth.
Note: GEAR4 SmartLink Wireless app and
Bluetooth connectivity require iPod touch (3rd
and 4th generation only), iPhone 4S, iPhone 4,
iPhone 3GS, iPad (3rd generation), iPad 2 or
iPad with iOS 5.0 or higher. App screens correct
at time of print.
Getting started:
■Plug the power cable into the back of the unit
and then into the mains supply.
■Install the coin-cell battery in the battery
compartment on the bottom of the unit. This
battery prevents the clock settings from being
lost in the event of a loss of power.
■To activate the speaker, press the power
button ( ).
Note: When docking your iPod touch, iPhone
or iPad to HouseParty Rise 2 Wireless for the
first time, your device will display a notification
that your accessory requires an application. Tap
OK to go to the App Store download page and

proceed to install the SmartLink Wireless app,
free of charge.
■To select the mode, press the Mode button to
scroll between the options (iPod / FM / AUX).
■Press the brightness button ( ) on the
speaker or app to adjust the LED screen
brightness. There are 7 adjustable brightness
levels.
To pair your iPod touch, iPhone
or iPad with the speaker:
■With your iPod touch / iPhone / iPad in your
hand, go to Settings > General > Bluetooth
on your device.
■Turn Bluetooth on.
■Press and hold the Bluetooth button on the
speaker ( ) until the Bluetooth icon flashes
quickly and an audio tone is played (about 6
seconds). This indicates the speaker has
entered pairing mode.
■‘HouseParty Rise’ will appear under devices
within the Bluetooth menu. Select this to pair.
■Your iPod touch / iPhone / iPad will then pair
with the speaker after several seconds.
■To pair any additional devices, please follow
the above process again.
Connecting your paired iPod
touch / iPhone / iPad to the
speaker:
■When the speaker is switched on, it will
automatically connect to the last paired or
docked device.
■If connection to that device is not made, you
can manually connect another paired device.
■On your iPod touch / iPhone / iPad, go to
Settings > General > Bluetooth.
■Tap on ‘HouseParty Rise’. The Bluetooth
connection between the speaker and chosen
device will now be made.
Note: Only one device can be connected to the
speaker at any given time.
Switching connected devices:
■To switch the connection with another paired
device, dock your chosen device onto the
speaker, leave for 5 seconds and undock.
Your chosen device will now be automatically
connected to the speaker.
■To switch the connection manually, short
press the Bluetooth button ( ) on the speaker.
This will drop the connection to any
connected device.
■On your iPod touch / iPhone / iPad, go to
Settings > General > Bluetooth.

■Tap on ‘HouseParty Rise’. The Bluetooth
connection between the speaker and chosen
device will now be made.
■If no connection is made within 30 seconds of
the Bluetooth button ( ) being pressed, the
speaker will automatically connect to the last
paired or docked device.
Note: Connections between speaker and
devices are only possible if devices have
previously been paired.
For use with iPod / iPhone /
iPad:
■Press the Mode button to select iPod mode.
■Carefully insert your iPod / iPhone / iPad into
the dock.
■Press play on your iPod / iPhone / iPad and
control the music using your device.
■To enable wireless control, undock your
paired iPod touch / iPhone / iPad from the
speaker and control your speaker wirelessly
through the SmartLink Wireless app.
For use with FM radio:
■Press the Mode button to select FM mode.
■Press or scan to the frequency
desired.
■Press and hold or to scan
automatically to the next clear frequency.
■Press to enter Presets.
TO SAVE A PRESET FREQUENCY:
You can save up to 5 FM presets on the
speaker.
■Adjust the radio to your desired frequency
then press and hold the Play / Pause button
until ‘Pr’ flashes. Input the desired memory
position by turning the SET button. Press the
SET button to save.
To set the clock:
■Press the SNOOZE / SET button when the
speaker is in Standby mode.
■Turn the SNOOZE / SET button to select
either 24 hour or 12 hour. Now press the
SNOOZE / SET button to save.
■The hour display will begin to flash. Turn the
SNOOZE / SET button to adjust the hour.
Now press the SNOOZE / SET button once
again to save.
■The minute display will start flashing. Press
/ to adjust the minutes. Press the
SNOOZE / SET button to save.
■The display will begin to flash with one of the
days of the week. Turn the SNOOZE / SET
button to change the day of the week you
require. Now press the SNOOZE / SET
button to save.
