•Use only attachments / accessories specified by the manufacturer.
•Always shut down power supply when not in use to save energy and for prolonged lifespan.
•Exposure to extremely high noise levels may cause permanent hearing loss. Individuals vary
considerably in susceptibility to noise-induced hearing loss, but nearly everyone will lose some hearing if
exposed to sufficiently intense noise for a period of time. The U.S. Government’s Occupational Safety
and Health Administration (OSHA) has specified the permissible noise level exposures shown in the
following chart. According to OSHA, any exposure in excess of these permissible limits could result in
some hearing loss. To ensure against potentially dangerous exposure to high sound pressure levels, it is
recommended that all persons exposed to equipment capable of producing high sound pressure levels
use hearing protectors while the equipment is in operation. Ear plugs or protectors in the ear canals or
over the ears must be worn when operating the equipment in order to prevent permanent hearing loss if
exposure is in excess of the limits set forth here:

plosive effects.
2. MODEL NAME AND NUMBER
This is the microphone's laser-engraved model name and number “PASSION MP 830S”.

5. GECKO® LOGO

CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE MICROPHONE
CONNECTING AND DISCONNECTING THE MICROPHONE
1. Insert the provided microphone cable with GECKO® Secured Connection™ XLR (female) connector
end into the microphone as shown above. If necessary, rotate the connector to align the key on the
connector and the groove in the microphone. Push the connector into the microphone and secure
the connection by turning the bezel clockwise until it is tight.
NOTES: The integral XLR (male) output connector on the microphone takes in
standard size XLR (female) connector. If you need a longer cable length other than
the one provided, you may use either a third party longer cable (without GECKO®
Secured Connection™) or connect the XLR (female) end of the provided cable to
another GECKO® TRUTH T3 audiophile microphone cable of your desired length for
best performance.
2. If you are connecting to a balanced audio device, be sure to use balanced configuration on the XLR
and TRS type connectors. Pin 1 (Shield) = Ground, Pin 2 (Tip) = Positive (Hot), Pin 3 (Ring) =
Negative (Cold). If you are connecting to an unbalanced audio device, make sure you bridge Pin 1
and Pin 3 on the connectors.
3. To unplug the connector from the microphone, turn the bezel anti-clockwise all the way until it is off
from the microphone before pulling the connector out.

MICROPHONE USE
MICROPHONE USE
1. Turn ON the microphone by sliding the switch to “ON”. Turn OFF the microphone by sliding the
switch to “OFF”. Keep the switch in the “OFF” position while connecting or disconnecting the
microphone from your audio device.
2. For vocal use, hold the microphone by its handle. Avoid holding the microphone grille. See pictures
above.
3. Position the microphone grille one to two inches (2cm - 5cm) away from the mouth. Move farther
away from the microphone to produce a more balanced, natural sound. Move closer to the
microphone to enhance low frequency (bass) response.
4. To minimize the chance of feedback (a loud howling or squealing noise), position the microphone
beside or behind loudspeakers.
5. Apart from vocal, the GECKO® PASSION MP 830S can also be used for instrument miking, i.e.
strings, woodwinds, brasses, percussions, and also backline amplifiers miking.
CAUTIONS: O NOT APPLY +48V C PHANTOM POWER ON THE PASSION MP
830S! Using +48V C phantom will affect the performance of the PASSION MP 830S
and may cause serious damage to the microphone.
