1) Please read all instructions and notes carefully. Chec the Parts List or Bill of Materials for
any missing parts and gather necessary tools. To prevent scratching of painted materials,
place on a tarp, paper, or other protective material.
2) You may be required to obtain a building permit for this structure from your local building
authority. Contact your local building department for details.
3) Note that this shade structure is not designed to carry additional loads such as hanging
heavy plants, swings, people, or other objects.
Anchors to attach the cover to the existing structure are not included, and must be purchased
separately. Be sure the structure is solid and capable of supporting this cover. The required minimum
specifications for anchor bolts are: able to withstand 800 lbs. shear force and 800 lbs. pull-out strength.
We recommend lowering the speed of your drill during this installation. Installing Te screws
at a high rpm may cause the Te screws to become damaged or brea during installation.
Cutting and drilling will cause metal shavings. These shavings must be carefully removed by
sweeping or brushing. If this is not done, the metal shavings will quic ly rust and stain the
surface finish.

PARTS LIST

Fig. S-1
-If the gutter is in two or more pieces, insert an equal amount of the provided gutter splices into each of the square ends of the
gutters and secure as shown using (12) 1 4" - 20 x 3 4" Machine Screws with Nuts (see Fig. S-1).
-Apply a generous amount of caulk around the bottom of the splice to prevent water leaks through the splice (see Fig. S-2).

-Mark the locations of each support brace on the front and rear gutters. Be sure to match the spacing on both gutters so that the
supports will line up properly. If drawings were received from the manufacturer, use those as the guide.
-At each center support mark, attach a lattice splice bracket to the front and rear gutters using ( ) #12 x 1-1/ " HWH #5 Tek
screws per bracket as shown in Fig. 1-1.
-Attach the fascia fitting brackets to the front and rear gutters at all support brace marks using (2) 3/8" x 1" truss head bolts.
-Attach an outside corner cap (6" long) to both ends of the rear gutter using (2) #8 x 3/ " HWH #2 Tek screws per corner.
-Drill 1/ " dia. holes in the rear gutter beginning 3" from either end at 12" to 16" on center.
NOTE: Center to center dimension of 1/ " holes is determined by the location of wall studs or other structural member that
the cover must be anchored to. Do not attach to sheeting, siding, flashing, or any other non-structural surface.
-Mark a level line at the desired mounting height, which must be a minimum of 8" above any outswinging door.
-Align the holes in the rear gutter with the level line and attach the rear gutter to the wall using 1-1/2" lag screws (see Fig. 1-2).
NOTE: If attaching cover to concrete or masonry unit, drill holes in the wall to match the holes in the rear gutter. Then place
a lag bolt insert into each hole before attaching the gutter per above.
-Apply a continuous bead of caulk along the back of the top lip of the rear gutter to prevent water leaks.
-Position a mounting bracket directly above each fascia fitting bracket. To determine the height above the gutter,
simply subtract 12" from the projection of the cover.
-Attach the mounting bracket to the structure using (2) anchors able to withstand 800 pounds shear force and 800 pounds
pull-out strength as shown in Fig. 1- (anchors not included).

-Position a lattice splice tube over each lattice splice bracket on the rear gutter. Attach the tube to the bracket using (4)
#12 x 1-1/4" W #5 Tek screws per bracket as shown in Fig. 2-1.
-Insert a horizontal support tube into each slide fitting bracket on the rear gutter. It may be necessary to set up a temporary
support (such as two ladders and a 2x4 board spanning between them) to hold up the ends of the horizontal support braces
and the lattice splice tubes until the support braces are completed.
-Place a slide fitting bracket over each horizontal support tube.
-If not already done, predrill (2) sets of holes 7/16" diameter in the diagonal support tube, (1) at each end beginning
approximately 1/2" from the ends of the tube.
-Attach the diagonal support tube to the slide fitting bracket and mounting bracket using 3/8" x 2" bolts (see Fig. 2-3 & 2-4).

-If not already done, attach the bottom angle trim to the projection fascia using #8 x 3/4" W #2 Tek screws at 12" on center
beginning approximately 3/4" from the mitered edge (see Fig. 3-1). Also attach the bottom angle trim to both sides of the
lattice splice tube, following the same pattern for the projection fascia.
- oist the front gutter into position, being sure to align the fascia fitting brackets with the horizontal support tubes.
-Slide each of the fascia fitting brackets on the front gutter over each of the horizontal support tubes.
-Position one projection fascia between the corner cap on the rear gutter and the front gutter. Attach the projection fascia to the
front and rear gutters using the corner caps and (4) #8 x 3/4" W #2 Tek screw per corner. Repeat for the opposide side
of the cover. (See Fig. 3-2)
-Work the slide fitting brackets forward or backward to level or achieve the desired roof slope, depending on which gutter is
chosen to drain rain water. Moving the brackets forward will lower the front of the cover, while moving the brackets backward
will raise the front of the cover (see Fig. 4-1).
-Once properly positioned, drill (3) holes through the horizontal support tube, matching the predrilled pattern in the slide fitting
bracket, and attach the brackets using (3) 1/4" x 2-1/4" bolts as shown in Fig. 4-2.

-Determine how many lattice tubes will go in each roof section (the area between splices), and place that amount in one section.
-Place the top piece of angle trim on top of the lattice tubes. Attach the angle trim to the projection fascia / splice tube using
8 x 3/4" HWH 2 Tek screws at 12" on center, following the same pattern as the bottom angle trim (see Fig. 5-1).
-Once the top angle trim is secured to the projection fascia / splice tube, begin arranging the lattice tubes with the typical gap
between each tube. The standard lattice spacing is 3" on center. You may have received a small piece of 1-1/2" square tube.
This may be used as a spacer by placing it between the previous lattice tube and the next lattice tube, which will give the
3" on center dimension.
-As you are arraning the lattice tubes, attach each one to the top angle trim using 8 x 3/4" HWH 2 Tek screws (see Fig. 5-2).
-Repeat for each roof section.
-Determine where you want water to drain from either the front or rear gutter. Cut a hole no bigger than 2" diameter in the
bottom of the gutter. Alternatively, you may drill several small holes in a rectangular pattern no bigger than 2" x 3".
-Apply a bead of caulk along the top of the flange of the scupper. Attach the scupper to the gutter using (2) 8 x 3/4" HWH
2 Tek screws as shown in Fig. 6-1.
