Applications
The Hand Vario is designed for cutting body parts on
vehicles. It is used to rescue trapped or endangered
patients by: Cutting door or roof pillars, door posts,
hinges and side impact bars.
The cutters are also used for industrial purposes, e.g.
to cut pipes, structural steel, sheet metal and cables.
Cutting: The Hand Vario is designed to cut key
obsticals in passenger cars, buses, trucks and other
vehicles.
Cutting of solid bars and heavier stock should be
done in the round stock notch at the base of the
blades.
The greatest cutting force is available nearest the
pivot point of the blades; therefore all cutting should
take place as close to the pivot point as possible.
Spreading: The tips of the Hand Vario are ribbed on
the outside. It is recommended to use this area for
spreading to avoid “slipping or kickback” and to
avoid damage to the tool’s arms. Insert the tips as
far as possible into the opening to be spread. After
enlarging the opening continue tunneling until a
stable point is found; then operate tool to overcome
obstacle.
Lifting: Use support blocks when lifting on unstable
ground and be sure to crib the load as you proceed.
Observe load during lifting. Shifting or tilting could
take place causing the load to drop.

lever control and pump handle.

pump handle - blades open.
Closing: Switch valve to close position, activate
pump handle - blades close.
To Stop Movement: Do not activate pump handle.
Turnable Tool Head: The tool head can be rotated
360 degrees. This allows the tool to easily be used in

bumper brackets or other high-strength parts with the
tool. When cutting objects with one free end, care
should be taken to ensure against injury caused by
