2 Scope of Delivery
Before starting your first application, please check if everything listed here is included in the delivery. If any
item is missing, please contact us.
» CAN-Rx-Repeater
» Connector kit X1-Input (power supply, CAN FD input for vehicle bus) with contacts
» Connector kit X2-Output (CAN FD output for data logger) with contacts
To assemble the mating connectors, the crimping tool “Nano-MQS, Handzange 0.13-0.35 mm2” from TE
Connectivity Ltd. Is needed.

3 General
The CAN-Rx-Repeater is an accessory for the data logger series GL53xxx with CAN FD. It is used to extend
the CAN FD bus from the entry point in the front of the vehicle (installation point of the CAN-Rx-Repeater) to
e.g. the boot (installation point of the data logger).
Relaying the entire CAN FD traffic of the CAN FD channel to be logged is done from CANxIN (Connector X1-
input in Figure 2/Table 1) to CANxOut (Connector X2-output in Figure 3/Table 2).
The CAN-Rx-Repeater does not need to be configured.
The CAN FD channels extended via CAN-Rx-Repeater need to be set in the data logger to the correct baud
rate and their transmission function deactivated.
Transmission of CAN FD data or “Acknowledge” (via LTL with SYSTEM CANxOutput = On) from data
logger to vehicle bus via the CAN-Rx-Repeater is not allowed.

5 Wakeup/Sleep-Mode
The CAN-Rx-Repeater starts after turning it on (power on). It wakes up from sleep mode after receiving a
message and enters to sleep mode if no messages were received for over 20 seconds.

7 Technical Data
The data specified in this section must be adhered to at all times. Damage to the CAN-Rx-Repeater can
otherwise occur, and this in turn can create conditions on the connected wires that are outside specified
ranges (e.g. overvoltage). Operating for long periods very close to the limit values can also result in damage
or may shorten the service life of the device.
