Thank you for purchasing a Ginny’s Brand Electric
Steam Iron. Ironing chores will be easier and faster
with this iron in your hand! The nonsck soleplate
and retractable cord make it more ecient to use and
simpler to store. The steam control allows you to use
as much, or as lile as you like—when you want to—
and the self-clean buon helps eliminate buildup to
keep your iron working smoothly!

READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS!
• FOR HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE FOR OTHER
THAN ITS INTENDED USE.
• Remove all packaging materials and labels before rst use.
• A short cord is provided to reduce the hazards resulng from tripping
or entanglement. DO NOT drape the cord over a counter or tabletop
where it can be pulled on or tripped over. DO NOT wrap the cord ghtly
around the appliance, as this could cause the cord to fray or break.
• We DO NOT recommend using an extension cord with this appliance.
However, if an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rang should
be at least as great as the electrical rang of this appliance.
• CLOSE SUPERVISION IS NECESSARY WHEN USING THIS APPLIANCE NEAR

• DO NOT leave iron unaended while hot or on an ironing board. Burns

• Always use this appliance on a stable, dry, heat-resistant surface.

as this may cause injury or damage the appliance.
• When the iron is in use, keep hands and hair away from the hot
soleplate and hot steam.
• Use cauon when moving a hot iron.
• DO NOT let cord touch hot soleplate.
• Unplug this iron from the electrical outlet before adding water.
• DO NOT use outdoors.
• Turn o and unplug this iron when not in use.
• Let iron cool completely before storing.
• THERE ARE NO SERVICEABLE PARTS INSIDE THIS APPLIANCE.
• DO NOT USE AN APPLIANCE WITH A DAMAGED CORD OR PLUG, OR
AFTER THE APPLIANCE MALFUNCTIONS OR HAS BEEN DAMAGED IN ANY
MANNER.

SPECIFICATIONS
This appliance is equipped with a polarized plug in which 1 prong is wider
than the other. This is a safety feature to reduce the risk of electrical shock.
The plug will t into a polarized outlet only 1 way. If you are unable to
insert the plug into the outlet, try reversing the plug. If it sll does not t,
contact a qualied electrician. DO NOT aempt to modify the plug in any
way. Ginny’s cannot accept any liability for damage or injury resulng from
failure to observe these safety procedures.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL DIAL
Turn the temperature control dial to select the desired fabric seng. The
preheat light will come on. When the iron reaches the selected
temperature the preheat light will go o.
ANTI-CALC SYSTEM
A special lter inside the water tank soens the water and prevents scale
buildup in the soleplate. The lter is permanent and does not need
replacing. USE TAP WATER ONLY. Use of dislled or demineralized water
may damage the an-calc system.
ANTI-DRIPPING SYSTEM
The iron automacally stops steaming when the temperature is too low (to
prevent water from dripping out of the soleplate).
AUTO SHUT-OFF (indicated by power light blinking)
1. An electronic safety device will automacally switch the iron o if it has
not been moved in 30 seconds in a horizontal posion.
2. If in a vercal posion, the iron will automacally switch o aer 8
minutes of no movement.
3. When the iron is picked up again, the power light and the preheat light
will turn on (indicang the iron is heang up again). The iron is ready for
use when the preheat light goes out.
SELF-CLEAN BUTTON
1. With a full water tank, every 10–15 days, push the steam control lever to
MIN.
2. Plug the cord into an electrical outlet and set the temperature control
dial to MAX .
3. When the preheat light goes o, hold the iron over a sink and unplug.
4. Hold the self-clean buon down and water will drip down from the
steam holes in the soleplate.
5. Gently shake the iron back and forth. Impuries and akes (if any) will
be ushed out with the water.
6. When the water tank is empty, release the buon and set the iron aside
to cool and dry.

Ne: It is normal for a small amount of smoke or smell to be produced
the rst me this iron is used. This should not persist aer the
rst few minutes of operaon.
FILLING THE WATER TANK
1. Ensure the iron is unplugged and set the temperature control dial to OFF.
2. Sit the iron upright (on the retractable cord cover) so the water ll door
is on top.
3. Open the door and ll the water tank with tap water to the maximum
mark. DO NOT ll above MAX.
4. Securely close the water ll door.
SELECTING TEMPERATURE
1. Follow the ironing instrucons on the fabric care label:
2. If there is no care label, but you do know the type of fabric, use the
following table as a guide.
Ne: If a garment consists of mulple fabrics, always select the
temperature needed for the most delicate fabric.

HOW TO OPERATE
Ne: When using steam for the rst me, DO NOT direct the
steam toward the item to be ironed. Factory dust may be
released from the steam holes on the boom of the soleplate.
USING STEAM
1. Place the iron in a vercal posion. Unplug and set the temperature
control dial to OFF.
2. Fill the water tank (see page 7).
3. Pull out the retractable cord and insert the plug into an electrical outlet.
The blue power light will come on.
4. Turn the temperature control dial to STEAM. The red preheat light will
come on, indicang that the iron is heang up.
5. When the preheat light turns o, the set temperature has been reached
and the iron is ready to use. During ironing, the preheat light will
automacally switch on and o as the thermostat maintains the set
temperature. It is ne to connue ironing during this process.
6. Move the steam control lever to the desired posion: MIN (0), MED or
MORE.
7. Steam will be produced as soon as the iron is held horizontally.
8. When nished, turn OFF and unplug the iron,
9. Press the cord retract buon to retract the cord.
USING BURST OR VERTICAL STEAM
1. With water in the tank, press the burst of steam buon to generate a
powerful burst of steam that can penetrate the fabric and smooth the
most dicult creases.
2. By pressing the burst of steam buon at intervals, you can also iron
vercally (for hung curtains or garments).
USING SPRAY
With water in the tank, press the spray buon to spray water from the spray
nozzle to dampen fabric. You may have to pump the spray buon several
mes at rst to start the spraying funcon.
USING A DRY IRON
DO NOT add water to the tank for ironing without steam or spray.

CLEANING & CARE
1. Make sure the iron is unplugged and cool before aempng to clean.
2. Wipe o the soleplate with a warm, soapy cloth and dry. DO NOT use
abrasive brushes or pads, or harsh cleaning soluons.
3. Wipe the exterior of the iron with a damp cloth.
4. DO NOT put vinegar or other descaling agents in the water tank!
5. If scale buildup blocks the steam vents on the soleplate, dislodge using a
toothpick or small brush.
6. Use the self-clean funcon once every 10–15 days (see page 6).
7. DO NOT immerse any cord, plug or electrical appliance into water.

WARRANTY
Ginny’s warrants this product free from defects in material and
workmanship for one year from provable date of purchase.
Within this warranty period, Ginny’s will repair or replace, at its opon,
defecve parts at no charge, provided the product is returned, freight
prepaid with proof of purchase to Ginny’s. Allow 2–4 weeks for return
shipping.
This warranty does not cover improper installaon, misuse, abuse or neglect
on part of the owner. Warranty is also invalid in any case that the product is
taken apart or serviced by an unauthorized service staon.
This warranty gives you specic legal rights and they may vary from
state to state.
THE FOREGOING WARRANTIES ARE IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES AND
