HELPFUL HINTS

Facebook.com/GinnysBrand
• Browning foods in a pan on the stovetop seals in juices and reduces the
fat content before adding to the ceramic pot. Browning improves the
avor of the food, but is not necessary if me is limited.
• Cut root vegetables into small, even pieces. Place them at the boom of
the pot and ensure they are immersed in cooking liquid.
• Trim all excess fat from meat before cooking.
• If adapng an exisng recipe from convenonal cooking, you may need to
cut down on the amount of liquid used. Liquid will not evaporate from the
slow cooker to the same extent as with convenonal cooking.
• The stoneware pot may have minor surface blemishes and the glass lid may
rock slightly due to these imperfecons. Due to normal wear and tear,
the glaze may develop ne cracks. This is normal and will not aect
performance.
• There is an area on the base of the stoneware pot that is unglazed. This
area is porous and will soak up water when immersed in it. DO NOT allow
the pot to stand in water for a long me, but it is ne to leave water in the
pot to soak.
• The slow cooker pot should be at least half full for best results.
• Slow cooking retains moisture. If you wish to reduce moisture, remove the
lid aer cooking and turn the control to high.Simmer for 30 minutes and
excess liquid will evaporate.
• Each me you remove the lid, add an addional 10 minutes to the cooking
me.
• If cooking soups, leave a 2" space between the top of the pot and the food
surface.
• Many things can aect how quickly a recipe will cook, water and fat
content, inial temperature of the food and the size of the food.
• Aer the slow cooker is switched to OFF, there will be enough heat in the
stoneware pot to keep food warm for about 30 minutes.
