INSTALLINGTHEBASE-Toensureproperfitofthedetectorheadtothebase,allwiresshouldbeproperlydressedatinstallationbypositioningallwiresflatagainstterminalsand
fasteningthewiresawayfromconnectorterminals.Thedetectorbasecanbemounteddirectlyontomoststandardelectricaljunctionboxes.
INSTALLINGTHEHEAD-Aligndetectorcomponentsusingprovidedalignmentmarksonboththeheadandbase.Aligndetectormarkandshortalignmentmarkonbase.Fitthe
detectorheadontothe baseand twistclockwisetosecureit. After all detectorsareinstalled,apply power to thecontrolunitand activate thedetectionloop.Test thedetectors
asdescribedbelow.
TESTING-Allremotesignallingsystems,releasingdevicesandextinguishingsystemsshouldbedisconnectedduringthetestperiodandreconnectedattheconclusionoftesting.
SMOKE:Allowsmokefroma cottonwickortestsmokeaerosoltoenterthedetector’ssmokechamberforatleast10seconds.Whensufficientsmokehasentered,thedetector
willsignal an alarm. This will beindicated by theillumination of the2 Red LEDs provided.Make suretoclearsmoke outof thechamber before resetting in orderto keep the
detectoratitscurrentsensitivitysetting.
HEAT:Thedetectortobetestedshouldbesubjecttoaflowofwarmairatatemperatureofbetween65°Cand80°C.Thisrequirementcanbemetbysomedomestichairdryers.
Switch onthewarmairflow andcheckthat thetemperature iscorrectandstable. Froma distanceofseveralcms,directthe airflowattheguard protectingthethermistor.The
detector should alarm within 60 seconds. Uponalarm immediatelyremovethe heat source and checkthat theRed LEDsof thedetectorare illuminated. If a detectorfails to
activatewithin60seconds,confirmconnections andprogramming.Ifnecessaryreplace unit.Note:Aftertesting,check thatthesystem isreturnedtonormaloperation.Notify
theappropriateauthoritiesthatthetestingprocedurehasbeencompletedandthesystemisactiveagain.
MAINTENANCE - The recommended minimum requirement for detector maintenance consists of annual cleaning of dust from the detector head using a low power
vacuumcleaner. >>DONOTATTEMPTTODISASSEMBLETHEDETECTOR

available at terminal 4 on the
underside of the beacon using
a small screwdriver.
To unlock beacon from its base
push provided unlock key
through hole available on the
base side wall as shown.
