2.INPUTGAINisthefirstcontrolyoushouldadjust.Itisnotavolumecontrol.The"INPUTGAIN"sets
thelevelofamplificationappliedtotheinputsignaltoboostittoauseablelevel.Thisadjustment
allowsforawiderangeofpickupdevices.Youwillwanttousethehighest"INPUTGAIN"settingyou
canwithoutoverdrivingordistortingthesignal.Ifyouareusingahighoutputactivepickupsystem
youwilllikelywanttousealowersettingonthe"INPUTGAIN".Ifyouareusingapassivetypepickup
systemyouwilllikelyneedahighersettingonthe"INPUTGAIN".Toadjust,slowlyturnthe"INPUT
GAIN"up(clockwise)whileplayingyourinstrumentuntilyoubegintohearsomedistortion,thenback
the"INPUTGAIN"down(counter‐clockwise)untilthedistortiondisappears.ThiswillgivetheAi1the
mostsignaltoworkwithandthebestsignaltonoiseratio.Takenoteofthisoptimizedsettingfor
futurereference.
3.LEVELadjuststheamountofsignalsenttoALLOutputs(D.I.XLROUT,StandardOUTPUT,HEADPHONE
jacksandRCALINEOUT).
4.BASSadjuststheamountofcutorboostinthelowfrequency(150HZ)range.
5.TREBLEadjuststheamountofcutorboostinthehighfrequency(5kHZ)range.
6.SHAPEON/OFFswitchenablesordisablesthe“SHAPE”control.Inthe“ON”position,midfrequencies
willbecutandthehighandlowfrequencieswillbeboosted.
7.PHASEaffectsthewaythesignalmixesliveandwhenrecording.Ifyouexperience“positiveacoustic”
feedback,flipthephaseswitchtothealternatesettingtokillthefeedback.
8.GNDLIFTIfyouhavemultiplegrounds,youmayhavehumorgroundloops.DisconnecttheDIoutput
groundbyswitching“ON”theGroundLifttoeliminatethisproblem.
