mostefficient,convenientwaypossible.Toachievethesafest,mostefficientandmostenjoyableperformancefromyourstove,you
mustdothreethings:1)installitproperly;2)operateitcorrectly;and3)maintainitregularly.Thepurposeofthismanualistohelp
youdoallthree.

OFTHISUNIT.
Thisstove,wheninstalled,mustbeelectricallygroundedinaccordancewithlocalcodes,orintheabsenceoflocalcodes,withthe
NationalElectricalCode,ANSI/NFPA70.Thestovewillbeproperlygroundedwhenpluggedintoastandardthreeprongwalloutlet
thathasbeenproperlygrounded.
Thisapplianceisdesignedandtestedspecificallyforuseonlywithwholeshelledcornorpelletizedwood.Itisapprovedfor
residentialinstallationaccordingtothecurrentnationalandlocalbuildingcodesasafreestandingroomheater.Itisalsoapproved
foruseinamobilehome.Thestoveisdesignedforconnectiontoanoutsidecombustionairsource.
Thestovewillnotoperatewithoutapowersourcefortheblowersystemsandfuelfeedsystems.TheunitisNOTdesignedto
operateusingnaturaldraft.Thisunitisdesignedforburningwoodpelletsorcornonly.Itcannotbeoperatedwithanytypeofcoal
(seethePROPERFUELsection).
Thisstoveisdesignedtoprovidetheoptimumproportionsoffuelandairtothefireinordertoburnfreeofsmokeandsoot.Any
blockageoftheairsupplytoorfromthestovewillseriouslydegradeitsperformanceandwillbeevidencedbyasmokingexhaust
andasootingwindow.Forbestoperationtheashcontentofthewoodpelletfuelshouldbelessthan3%andthecalorificvalue
approximately8200BTU/LB.Avoidhighashcontentfuelsbecausethiswillrapidlyfilluptheburnpotandeventuallycutoffthe
combustionairsupply.CORNMUSTCONTAINLESSTHAN12%MOISTURECONTENT.Ideally,thecornwillbeaslowofamoisturecontentas
possibleforbestperformance.12%moistureisthehighestthatshouldeverbeused.Wetcornwillrapidlydeterioratestove
components,reducetheefficiencyandcleanlinessoftheburn,andvoidallwarranties.
CommercialandindustrialinstallationsofLincolnMulti‐FuelStoveshouldnotbeusedsinceoperationalcontrolisoftennotwell
managedinthesesettings.

Donotoperateyourstoveifyousmellsmokecomingfromit.Turnitoff,
monitorit,andcallyourdealer.
Nevertrytorepairorreplaceanypartofthestoveunless
instructionsareprovided.Atrainedtechnicianshoulddoallother
work.
Neverusegasoline,gasoline‐typelanternfuel,kerosene,charcoallighter
fluid,orsimilarliquidstostartor“freshenup”afireinthisstove.Keepall
suchliquidswellawayfromthestovewhileinuse.
Donotthrowthismanualaway.Thismanualhasimportant
operatingandmaintenanceinstructionsthatyouwillneedata
latertime.Alwaysfollowtheinstructionsinthismanual.Read
themanualthoroughly.
Neverblockfreeairflowthroughtheopenventsofthestove.
Donotplaceclothingorotherflammableitemsonornearthe
stove.
Keepforeignobjectsoutofthehopper.Besurethatwhenyouaddfuel
tothehopper,thepelletsorcornthatyouareusingisfreeofforeign
material.
Theviewingdoormustbeclosedandlatchedduringnormal
operation.
Thestovewillnotoperateduringapoweroutage.Ifanoutagedoes
occur,keepthestovedoorclosed,andopenawindowifanysmokespills
intotheroom.Adequateverticalventpipeontheexhaustwillprevent
smokefromenteringthehome.
Donotoperatethestoveiftheflamebecomesdarkandsootyor
iftheburnpotoverfillswithfuel.Turnthestoveoff,inspectit,
andcallyourdealeroraqualified,trainedtechnician.
Disconnectthepowercordbeforeperforminganymaintenanceor
repairsonthestove.NOTE:Turningthestove“off”doesnotdisconnect
allpowerfromthestove.
CAUTION:Hotwhileinoperation.Keepchildren,clothing,and
furnitureaway.Contactmaycauseskinburns.Educateall
childrenofthedangerofahightemperaturestove.Young
childrenshouldbesupervisedwhentheyareinthesameroomas
thestove.
DONOTopentheviewingdoorduringthestartupperiod.
Ifthestoveisinstalledinaroomwithoutairconditioning,orinan
areawheredirectsunlightcanshineontheunit,itispossiblethis
cancausethetemperatureofthestovetorisetooperational
levels;oneofthesensorscouldthenmakethestovestartonits
own.Itisrecommendedthatthestovebeunpluggedwhennotin
useforextendedamountsoftime(i.e.duringthesummer
months).
Donotunplugthestoveifyoususpectamalfunction.Turnthestoveoff,
inspectit,andcallyourdealerorqualified,trainedtechnician.
Donotusethehighestheatlevel(#5)forextendedperiodsof
time.Limitusetoamaximumoftwohoursatatimewithseveral
hoursinbetweeneachusewheretheunitisrunningonalower
settingorturnedoff.
Contactyourlocalbuildingofficialstoobtainapermitandinformationon
anyinstallationrestrictionsorinspectionrequirementsinyourarea.
Notifyyourinsurancecompanyofthisstoveaswell.
Theexhaustsystemmustbecompletelyairtightandproperly
installed.TheexhaustventjointsmustbesealedwithRTV500°F
(260°C)siliconesealant,andwithUL‐181‐APfoiltape.
Thisunitmustbeproperlyinstalledtopreventthepossibilityofahouse
fire.Theinstructionsmustbestrictlyadheredto.Donotusemakeshift
methodsorcompromiseintheinstallation.
Allowthestovetocoolbeforecarryingoutanymaintenanceor
cleaning.Ashesmustbedisposedinametalcontainerwithatight
lidandplacedonanon‐combustiblesurfacewellawayfromthe
homestructure.
Yourstoverequiresperiodicmaintenanceandcleaning.Failureto
maintainyourstovemayleadtosmokespillageinyourhome,orevena
moredangeroussituation.
Thisstoveisdesignedandapprovedforpelletizedwoodfueland
cornonly.Anyothertypeoffuelburnedinthisheaterwillvoid
thewarrantyandsafetylisting,andmayresultinahazardous
condition.
Thisstovemustbeconnectedtoastandard120V.,60Hzgrounded
electricaloutlet.Donotuseanadapterplugorseverthegroundingplug.
Donotroutetheelectricalcordunderneath,infrontof,oroverthe
stove.
Wheninstalledinamobilehome,thestovemustbeboltedtothe
floor,haveoutsideairconnected(seepage3),andNOTBE
INSTALLEDINABEDROOM(PerH.U.D.requirements).Check
withlocalbuildingofficials.
Theexhaustsystemshouldbecheckedregularly.Itisrecommendedthat
theexhaustsystembeinspectedonceamonth,orforeverytonof
pelletsburned.Ataminimum,evenifburninglessthanatonperyear,
theexhaustshouldbecheckedtwiceaburningseason.
BreckwellHearthProductsgrantsnowarranty,impliedor
stated,fortheinstallationormaintenanceofyourstove,and
assumesnoresponsibilityofanyconsequentialdamage(s).

Factorypackagingmustberemoved,andsome
minorassemblyworkisrequiredpriortoinstallation
anduse.Accesstotherearandsidesofthestove
willbenecessaryatsomepointintimesobesureto
leaveampleroomforaccess,otherwise,be
preparedtomovethestovewhennecessary.
InstalltheceramicBrickPanelontotherear
combustionwall.THISISAREQUIREDCOMPONENT.The
BrickPanelisfragile,sohandlewithcareatall
times.Yourstovewarrantyonlycoversthisitem
fromthermalbreakage.Impactdamageresultingfromdroppingoraccidentalabuseisnotcovered.
AUGERINSTALLATION:InstalltheaugerintotheaugertubeasshowninFigure2.
Theflatfaceoftheaugeristowardthefrontofthestove,andthebevelededgewill
gointotheaugertube.Makesuretheaugerisallthewaytotherearandis
engagedorseatedproperly.
STIRROD&BURNPOTINSTALLATION:TheBurnPotmustbesetinto
theBurnPotHolderwiththefuelspreadertowardstherearofthe
stove,asshown.
Insertthestirrodintotheburnpotwiththebeveledconnector
towardtheleft.Alignthebeveledsegmentssothattheholesoneach
piecealign,andinsertthecotterpin.

joints)noncombustiblematerialsuchasceramictile,cementboard,

materialsuitedforfloorprotection.

Infireplaces,outsideaircanbepipedtothestovefromthechimneytop,
fireplaceashcleanoutdoor,oraholedrilledthroughthebackofthe
fireplace.Therunofpipeforthecombustionairsupplyshouldbeasshort
aspossibleforthebestperformance.
Forfreestandinginstallations,thiscouldbeaholeinthefloor
nearthestoverearterminatinginaventilatedcrawlspace,
oraholeinthewallbehindthestove.
Intightlyinsulatedhomes,acloseableoutsideairregistercanbeused.
WHENOUTSIDEAIRISNOTUSED
Ifoutsideairisnotused,itisimportantthatthecombustionairinletisnot
restrictedorblockedinanyway.
ELECTRICALINSTALLATION
Thisstoveisprovidedwitha6‐footgroundedelectricalcordextendingfromtherearofthestove.Werecommendconnectingtoa
good,HIGHQUALITYSURGEPROTECTORthatispluggedintoastandardthree‐prong,120V,60Hzelectricaloutlet.Itishighly
recommendedthatyougetasurgeprotectorratedascloseto130Voltsand10AMPSaspossible.Thecloseryoursurgeprotectoris
totheseratings,thegreatertheprotectionforyourstove.
Voltagevariationsorincorrectpolaritycanleadtoseriousperformanceproblems,especiallyrelatedtothecontrolboard.The
Breckwellelectricalsystemisdesignedfor120VACwithnomorethan5%variation.Thepolarityoftheoutletshouldalsobe
checkedduringinstallation.Mosthardwarestorescarryaninexpensivepolaritychecker.Breckwellcannotacceptresponsibilityfor
poorperformanceordamageduetoinadequatevoltageorincorrectpolarity.Ifconnectedtoanolder,two‐prongoutlet,aseparate
groundwiremustberuntoaproperground(contactaqualifiedelectrician).Alwaysroutetheelectricalcordsothatitwillnotcome
incontactwithanyhotpartofthestove.

TheLincolnMulti‐fuelmustbegroundedtothesteelchassisofthehomewith8Ga.copperwireusingaserratedorstarwasherto
penetratepaintorprotectivecoatingtoensuregrounding.
TheLincolnMulti‐fuelmustbesecurelyfastenedtothefloorofthemobilehomethroughtheholesinthesideofthepedestalofthe
stoveusing2,¼”lagboltsthatarelongenoughtogothroughbothahearthpad,ifused,andthefloorofthehome.

1. Positionstove,adheringtoclearancesshowninFigure1.
2. Locatepositionofholeinwalldirectlybehindstoveexhaustvent(referto
figure3).
3. Alwaysmaintain3”clearancefromcombustiblematerials.
4. InstallL‐VentwallthimbleperL‐Ventmanufacturer’sinstructions.
5. Attachenoughpipingtopenetrateandextendbeyondexteriorwalls.Attach
anelboworcleanoutTeeandtakethepipevertical.AMINIMUMOF5‐FOOT
VERTICALRUNOFPIPEISREQUIRED,AND7‐FOOTORMOREISHIGHLYENCOURAGED.This
willgeneratenaturaldraftandgreatlyreduceoreliminatetheamountof
smokethatentersthehomeduringapoweroutageorcombustionblower
failure.
6. Attachcapandsealoutsidewallthimbleswithnon‐hardeningwaterproof
mastic.
7. Alljointsintheexhaustpipe,includingwhereitattachestothestoveshould
besealedwithRTVsiliconeandUL‐181foiltape.
8. Terminationshouldnotbelocatedsothathotexhaustgasescanignitetrees,shrubs,orgrassesorbeahazardtochildren.
Exhaustgasescanreachtemperaturesof500ºFandcauseseriousburnsif
touched.
Locateterminations:a)notlessthan3feetaboveanyforcedairinlet
locatedwithin10feet;b)notlessthan4feetbeloworhorizontallyfrom,or
onefootabove,anydoor,windoworgravityairinletintoanybuilding;c)

OPERATION
PROPERFUEL
TheLINCOLNMulti‐FuelStoveiscapableofburningwholeshelledcornandwoodpellets.Thequalityofthefuelyouusewillhavea
dramaticeffectintheperformanceofthestove.Higherqualityfuelswillprovideacleanerandmoreefficientburn,whileproducing
lessash,andgenerallyreducingtheamountofcreosotedevelopedinthestoveandexhaustflue.Forthesereasonswestrongly
recommendthatyouusethehighestqualityoffuelsavailableinyourarea,andthatyouexperimentwithacoupleofdifferent
brandsbeforesettlingonaparticularbrand.Onceyoufindaqualityfuel,keepusingthatbrandorsourcetoachieveconsistent
burns.
THEUSEOFOTHERTHANWOODPELLETSCONFORMINGTOTHEPELLETFUELSINSTITUTESTANDARDSORWHOLESHELLEDCORNISNOT
APPROVEDANDMAYRESULTINTHEUNSAFEOPERATIONOFTHESTOVEANDWILLVOIDTHEWARRANTY.
ALWAYSCHECKYOURFUELSUPPLYFORFOREIGNOBJECTS.Althoughitdoesnothappenfrequently,therehasbeenmorethanonebagof
cornorpelletsthathadforeignobjectssuchasscrews,bolts,nuts,etc.,accidentallypackagedalongwiththecornorwoodpellet.
Forthatreasonwestronglyrecommendthatyoucheckyourfuelforforeignobjects.Thestovewarrantydoesnotcoverdamages
causedbyforeignobjectsinthefuelsupply.
Shelled Corn
Cornmustbecleanandfreeofanydebris.Neverburncorndirectlyfromthefield.Youshoulduseonlycleanandfiltered
baggedcorn.
CORNMUSTHAVELESSTHAN12%MOISTURE.Ideally,thecornwillbeaslowofamoisturecontentaspossibleforbest
performance.12%moistureisthehighestthatshouldeverbeused.Wetcornwillnotburnasreliablyandcanleadtothe
deteriorationofstovecomponents,reducedefficiency,andvoidallwarranties.
Storethecorninadryplaceandkeepthebagsorcontainerssealed.Thiswillhelptopreventthecornfromabsorbing
excessmoisture.
Westronglyrecommendthatyoupurchaseamoisturetesterandperiodicallycheckthemoisturecontent.
NEVERUSE“DEERCORN”.Itisverycommonforthistypeofcorntocontainmolassesorothersugarstoattractthedeer.
Theseadditiveswillcreateaverydirtyburnandpotentiallydegradestovecomponents.
NEVERUSE“SEEDCORN”.Itistreatedwithchemicalpesticidesthatcanbeharmfulorevenfatalifswallowed.Therefore,this
typeofcornisdangeroustohaveinthehouse,especiallywherechildrenorpetscanreachit.
NEVERUSECORNWITHHIGHWAXCONTENT.
Wood Pellets
PelletsshouldconformtothePelletFuelsInstitutestandards.This,alongwithproperinstallationanddampercontrol,will
helptoensurethatyouachievethemostefficientandcleanburnpossible.
Pelletsshouldbebetween¼”or5/16”indiameter,andnolongerthan1”.Longerorthickerpelletsmayresultinimproper
feedandpossiblyevenresultinanaugerjam.
Pelletscanvaryinashcontent.Thiswillaffecthowcleanlyandefficientlythestovewillburn.Poorqualitypelletswilloften
createsmokeanddirtyglass.Theywillcreateaneedformorefrequentmaintenance.Youwillhavetoemptytheburnpot
plusvacuumtheentiresystemmoreoften.Poorqualitypelletscoulddamagetheauger.YOUSHOULDONLYUSEPELLETSWITH
LESSTHAN3%ASHCONTENT.
Avoidpelletswithexcessfines.“Fines”isatermdescribingcrushedpelletsorloosematerialthatlookslikesawdustor
sand.Pelletscanandshouldbescreenedbeforebeingplacedinhoppertoremovemostfines.
Thehoppershouldbeemptiedandvacuumedonaregularbasistopreventabuildupoffinesinthesystem.
NEVERUSEWETPELLETS.Wetorverymoistpelletswillproduceanextremelydirtyandinefficientburn.Storeyourpelletsina
dryplaceandkeepthebagsorcontainerssealed.Thiswillhelptopreventthepelletsfromabsorbingexcessmoisture.

Openingthehopperlidwilldisengagethehoppersafetyswitchandpreventtheaugerfromfeeding.Ifyouareadding
fuelwhilethefireisburning,besuretolimittheamountoftimethatthehopperlidisopentotheabsoluteminimum

owner’smanualandyourlocalbuildingcodes.Ensurethatallforeignobjectsareoutofthehopper,ashpan,andfireboxarea.
Duringthefirstfewfires,yourstovewillemitanodorasthehightemperaturepaintcuresorbecomesseasonedtothemetal.
Maintainingsmallerfireswillminimizethis.Avoidplacingitemsonstovetopduringthisperiodbecausethepaintfinishcouldbe
affected.
LIGHTINGDIRECTIONS
Removetheburnpot,makingsureitiscleanandnoneoftheairholesareplugged.Cleanthefirebox,andthenreinstallburnpot.It
isimportanttohavethefuelspreaderlocatedtowardtherearofthestove.Cleandoorglassifnecessary(adryclothorpapertowel
isusuallysufficient).Ifadryclothisnotsufficient,feelfreetouseasmallamountofWindexor409.Spraytheclothlightlypriorto
wipingtheglass.Waitfortheglasstodryifyouusedacleanerbeforeyoulightthestove.Checkfuelinthehopper,andrefillif
necessary.
NEVERUSECHARCOALLIGHTERFLUID,GASOLINE,ORSIMILARLIQUIDSASAFIRESTARTER.Keepallsuchliquids
awayfromthestovewhileinuse,andneverstoretheseliquidsincloseproximitytothestove.Useonlyapprovedfire
starters.Yourlocaldealercanprovideyouwithapprovedfirestarters.
Followthedirectionsbelowinordertostartafirewhenusingcornorwood.WhenstartingafireDONOTWALKAWAYFROMTHEUNIT
UNTILALLSTART‐UPPROCEDURESHAVEBEENCOMPLETEDandthestoveisburningwell.Thiswilltake10to15minutes.
Makesurethestoveisinthe“Off”mode(Alllightsonthecontrolpanelareoff).
Makesurethestirrodisinplaceandsecurelyattached.Althoughunnecessaryforwoodpellets,thestirrodisrequiredfor
burningcorn.
Makesurethatthehopperisloadedwithfuel.Besuretoclosethehopperlidpriortostartingtheunitsothatthehopper
safetyswitchwillengage.Fuelwillnotbefedtotheburnpotwhenthehopperlidisopen.
PresstheFUELTYPEbuttonandselectthecorrectfueltypebaseduponwhatyouhaveloadedthehopperwith.
Placealargehandfulofwoodpelletsorfirestartingpellets(pelletsthatalreadycontainfirestarter)intotheburnpot.The
amountofpelletsshouldbelevelwiththestirrod,orapproximatelyone‐halfoftheburnpot.
Squirtagenerousamountoffirestartergelontopofthewoodpellets.THISISNOTNECESSARYIFYOUAREUSINGPELLETSTHAT
ALREADYCONTAINFIRESTARTER.
Usealongmatchorlonglightertoignitethefirestarter,keepingyourfaceawayfromtheburnpot.Thestartergelcan
flareup,soexercisecautionwhenlighting.Waitapproximatelyonetotwominutestoallowthepelletstocatchfireand
thenclosethefrontdoor.
Pressthe“On”buttononthecontrolpanel.Initiallythecombustionfanwillstart,andtheunitwillconductaquickself‐
diagnosticcheck.
Adjustthedamperasrequired.Atthisstage,thedamperhandlecanbeadjustedtobelevelwiththefrontedgeofthe
stoveinmostsituations.
Inapproximatelyfourminutestheaugerwillbegintofeedfuelintotheburnpotandthestirrodwillbegintorotate
periodically.
Oncetheunithascompletedthestart‐upcycle,youcanadjusttheheatlevelsettingandthestovewillgraduallytransition
tothatlevel.Itisstronglyadvisedthatyoumonitorthestovecloselyuntilitreachesasteadyoperationatthedesiredheat
level.

ThecontrolpanelislocatedonthelefthandsideoftheLINCOLNMulti‐FuelStove.Itwillallow
youtocontroltheoperationofyourstoveandachievethedesiredlevelofwarmth.Turningthe
unitOnorOff,aswellasadjustingtheheatlevelsetting,andsettingtheappropriatefueltypeis
allaccomplishedwiththecontrolpanel.
Theunithastwomodesofoperation.Themodeofoperationswitchcanbeadjustedtochange
betweeneachmodeofoperation.Oneisforusewithathermostat(Thermostat),andtheother
isforusewithoutathermostat(Manual).
TheON/OFFbuttonwillturnyourunitonoroffdependingonwhichmodeitisincurrently.
WhenyoufirststartyourstovebypressingtheON/OFFbutton,thestovewillgointoitsstart‐
upcycle.Thecombustionfanwillcomeon(lowsetting)andtheunitwillconductaself‐
diagnostics.Fourminuteslater,theaugerwillbegintofeedfuelintotheburnpot.
TheFUELTYPEbuttonallowsyoutoselecteitherPelletsorCorndependinguponthefueltype
youareusing.Thisunitisonlyapprovedforusewithwoodpelletsorwholeshelledcorn.If
burningamixtureofcornandpelletsyoushouldselectcorn.Havingthewrongfueltype
selectedcouldresultindamagetoyourstoveandincreasesafetyhazards.
ITISEXTREMELYIMPORTANTTHATYOUSELECTTHEPROPERFUELTYPEINACCORDANCEWITHTHE
FUELYOUAREBURNING.
TheHEATLEVELbuttonwillincreaseordecreasetheheatlevelsettingofyourstovefromLow
(1)toHigh(5).DONOTUSETHEHIGHSETTINGOF#5FOREXTENDEDPERIODSOFTIME.The
#5heatlevelsettingshouldonlybeusedforshortdurations(twohoursmax)atatimewith
severalhoursbetweeneachuseofthe#5setting.Usingthe#5heatlevelsettingforlong
periodswillgreatlyshortenthelifeexpectancyofyourstove,itscomponents,andmayevenleadtodamageorwarpingoftheunit.
TheHIGHFANbuttonwillover‐ridethepre‐programmedconvectionfanspeedandincreasetheconvectionfantohighspeedthe
firsttimeyoupressit.Pressagain,andyouwillreturnthefantoitsprogrammedspeed.Itisbesttoallowtheconvectionfantorun
atthepre‐programmedspeedforoptimalefficiency.Ifyoulowertheheatlevelbythreeormoresettingsitisgoodtorunthehigh
fanforabout15minutes.
TheAUGERFEEDbuttonwillcausetheaugertofeedadditionalfuelintotheburnpot.PressingandholdingtheAugerFeedbutton
willcauseasteadystreamoffueltobeaddedtothefire.Usethissparinglyasanover‐feedorover‐heatingsituationcouldoccur.

OnceyourpresstheON/OFFbuttononyourstove,thecombustionfanwillstartimmediatelyandtheunitwillgointoapre‐

Start-up Cycle
Whentheunitisfirststarted,orwhenrestartingafterthepowerhasbeeninterrupted,itwillinitiallybeinapre‐programmedstart‐
upcycle.Thisstart‐upcyclewilllastsevenminutes.Duringthisperiodthestovewillnotfunctionontheheatlevelsettingyouhave
selected.Instead,theunitwillfunctionatlowheatlevelsetting(#1)untilthestart‐upcycleiscompleted.
Oncethestovehasreachedtheminimumoperatingtemperature,theconvectionblowerwillcomeonandbegintoblowairintothe
room.Ashorttimelater,theunitwillcompletethestart‐upcycleandtheunitwilladvancetotheheatlevelsettingyouhavethe

Changing Heat Levels
Whenadjustingtheheatlevelsetting,keepinmindthatyouwillexperienceanapproximate3minutedelaybetweensuccessive
heatlevelincreases.Thisdelayisthereinordertoallowthefiretostabilizebetweeneachheatlevelsetting.Thisdelayaffectsnot
onlytheaugerfeedrate,butalsotheblowerspeeds.
WhentheHeatLevelsettingisincreasedordecreased,thefuelfeedrate,convectionfanspeedandcombustionfanspeedareall
affectedafterthe3minutebuilt‐indelay.
WHENEVERYOUCHANGETHEHEATLEVELSETTING,ITISALWAYSAGOODIDEATOOBSERVETHEFIREFOR10OR15MINUTES,ANDTOADJUST
THEDAMPERIFNEEDED.
Damper Control
Thedamperislocatedjustbeneaththemaindoor.Youwillinitiallyadjustyourdamper
forthebestperformanceofyourstovedependingonyouroperatingheatlevel,altitude,
exhaustconfiguration,andtypeandqualityoffuel.Afterthat,youshouldnotneedto
adjustthedamperonaregularbasisunlessyouchangetheheatlevel.
Thecombustionblowerwillchangespeedswhenyouchangeyourheatlevelsetting.This
substantiallyreducestheneedfordamperadjustmentssokeepinmindthatminor
adjustmentstothedampercanhaveabigeffect.
Whenchangingfuelbrandsortype,closelyobservetheoperationofthestoveandmake
adjustmentstothedamperasneeded.Alsomonitorthestoveuntilyoubecomefamiliar
withhowitoperates

Blower Speeds
Theconvectionblower(theonethatblowsairintotheroom),andthecombustionblowerarebothcontrolledbythecontrolpanel
dependingonwhichheatlevelsettingyousetthestoveon.TheBlowerswilloperateatapre‐programmedspeeddependingupon
theheatlevelsettingyouareoperatingthestoveat.However,youcanmanuallyadjusttheconvectionblowerspeed.Youcan
increasetheconvectionblowerspeedabovethepre‐programmedlevelbypressingtheHighFanbutton.Foroptimalheatoutput
andlongevityoftheconvectionblower,youshouldallowtheconvectionfantobecontrolledbythecontrolpanelmostofthetime.
Inmostcases,youwillonlywanttoincreasetheconvectionfanspeedwhenyoulowertheheatlevelsettingbymorethantwo
levels.Insuchacasereturnittothenormalspeedfortheheatlevelyouareoperatingthestoveonafterabout15minutes.
RUNNINGTHECONVECTIONFANONTHEHIGHSETTINGFORLONGPERIODSOFTIMEWILLDEGRADETHELIFESPANOFYOURCONVECTION
BLOWER.
Shut Down Procedures
TheshutdownproceduresfortheLINCOLNMulti‐fuelstovearesimpleandstraightforward.SimplypresstheON/OFFbuttonone
timeandyourunitwillgointoapre‐programmedshutdownmode.Althoughnotrequired,youmaywishtoopenthedamper
completely.Yourblowerswillcontinuetorunforasmuchasahalfanhourormoreuntilthestovecoolstobelowapproximately90
degreesF.Allowthestovetocompleteitsshutdownprocedurecompletelyanddonotunplugthestoveuntilcompleted.During
theshut‐downprocedure,somefuelintheaugersystemwillbepurgedanddumpedintotheburn‐pot.

AVOIDOVERFIRINGYOURSTOVE!
Ifatanytimeyouobserveaportionofthestoveglowingred(otherthanthestirrodintheburnpot),youareoverfiring
theunitorsomeothermalfunctionhasoccurred.ImmediatelyinitiateshutdownproceduresbypressingtheOn/Off
buttononetime.Allowtheunittogothroughthepre‐programmedshutdowncycleandcontactyourdealer.Observe
theunittoensureitdoesindeedshutdownproperly.
Donotunplugthestoveasthiswillpreventtheblowersfromrunningandcoolingyourunitandcouldresultinadmittingsmokeinto
thehouse.
Restarting a warm stove
Onoccasion,thestovemayhavetoberestartedwhen,forexample,ithasbeenshutoffforashcleaning.Ifthereisnofireor
glowingembersintheburnpotandnosmokepresentinthefirebox,theviewingdoorcanbeopened.Ifthedoorisopenfor30
secondsormorewhilethefansarerunning,theairpressuresafetyswitchwilldeactivateandpreventtheaugerfeedfrom
operating,asindicatedbytheHeatLevel2(red)lightblinking.Thefanswillcontinuetorun.YoumaythenremovetheStirRod
CotterPinandremovetheStirRodandBurnPottoremovetheashesandunburnedfuel.
CAUTION:THEBURNPOTANDSTIRRODWILLBEHOTANDCANCAUSEBURNSTOUNPROTECTEDSKIN.USE
THERMALLYINSULATEDGLOVESTOREMOVETHESTIRRODCOTTERPIN,STIRRODANDBURNPOT.

Opening the Fuel Hopper Lid
Thestoveisequippedwithanaugerinterlockswitchwhichinterruptspowertothefuelfeedaugerwhenthelidisopen.Thisisa
safetyfeaturerequiredbythesafetycodeswhichwillavoidinjuryshouldfingersorclothingbecomeentangledwiththefuelfeed
auger.
Dependingontheheatlevelthestoveatwhichthestoveisoperating,thefireintheburnpotmayextinguishwithinafewminutesif
thehopperlidisleftopen.
Bearthisinmindwhenrefuelingthestove.Thisfeaturecanalsobeusedtotemporarilystopthefuelfeedifitappearsthattheburn
pothasbecomefullofunburnedfuel.Thiscanoccasionallyoccurduringstartupdependingontheamountofwoodpelletsusedto
startthefire.Donotleavethelidopenforextendedperiods,asthefirewillgoout,andthereispotentialforadmittingsmoketo
theroom.

HEATLEVELLIGHTINDICATORS
TheLINCOLNMulti‐FuelStovehasfiveheatlevelsettingsthatrangefromLowtoHigh.Thisdisplayservesmultiplepurposesand
youneedtobefamiliarwiththesepurposes.Thesefivesettingsshowyounotonlywhatheatlevelsettingthestoveisoperatingon,
buttheywillalsoshowyouerrordiagnosticcodesifyourstoveisnotoperatingproperly.
Duringnormaloperationoneoftheheatlevellightswillbelitup.AsyoupressthisHEATLEVELbuttonyoucanincreaseordecrease
theheatlevelsettingfromLowtoHigh.Whicheverlightislitistheheatlevelsettingyouhavethestovesetto.Keepinmindthat
whenyouchangetheheatlevel(eitherupordown),thereisathreeminutedelaybetweeneachchangetoallowthestovetoadjust
tothenewfuelrate.
Forexample,let’sassumethatyouarerunningthestoveontheLowheatlevel.Youwanttoincreasethestovetothethirdheat
levelsettingtogetmoreheat.PresstheHEATLEVELadvancebuttonandthesecondlightwillcomeon.Pressitagain,andthethird
lightwillcomeon.Afterapproximatelythreeminutestheaugerfeedrateandconvectionfanspeedwillincreasetothesecondheat
levelsetting.Thestovewillcontinuetofunctiononthesecondheatlevelsettingforthreeminutes.Afterthreeminutestheauger
feedrateandconvectionfanspeedwillthenincreasetothethirdheatlevelsetting.
Thehighestheatlevel(#5)shouldonlybeusedforshortperiodsoftimeinordertorapidlybringupthetemperatureofyourhome.
Donotusethissettingformorethan2hoursatatime,andbesuretoallowseveralhoursbetweeneachuse.Prolongeduseofthis
settingcoulddamageyourstove,shortenthelifeofthestovecomponents,andevenvoidyourwarranty.Ifyoufeeltheneedtouse

Error Codes
TheHeatLevellightswillalsogiveyouanerrormessageifthestoveisnotfunctioningproperly,orifthestoveshutsdownduring
normaloperationforsomereason.Thiserrormessagewillbeaflashinglightoneitherthesecond,third,orfourthheatlevel.Itis
veryimportanttotakenoticeofwhichlightisflashingifyouarehavingtroubleoperatingyourstove.Thisisacriticalpieceof
informationtosupplytoyourdealerorthetechnicalsupportdepartment.
Ifthesecondlightisflashing,thisisanindicationthattheproblemisrelatedtoairflowintheunit.Mostofthetimethisisrelatedto
adirtystoveorexhaustpipe.Cleaningyourstoveand/orexhaustpipewellwillgenerallyresolvethisproblem.Alsokeepinmind
thatifyouleavetheviewingdooropenformorethan30secondsthestovewillshutdownandthesecondlightwillflash.
Ifthethirdlightisflashing,thisisanindicationthateitheroneofthePOFthermodischastrippedorisnotfunctioningcorrectly,or
youmayhaveanaugerjam,oryoumayhaveleftthehopperlidopen.
Ifthefourthlightisflashing,thisisanindicationthatyourstovehasbecometoohot.Checktomakesurethatthefueltypeissetin
accordancewiththetypeoffuelthatyouareburning.Ifyouareburningamixtureofcornandpellets,youshouldselectCORNas
yourfueltype.

OPTIONALTHERMOSTAT
Installation
Installinganoptionalthermostatmayhelpyoumaintainaconstanthousetemperatureautomatically.Amillivoltthermostatis
requiredforproperoperation.AfixedwallmountorBreckwell’shandheldremotecouldbeused.(Contactyourdealeror
Breckwelltopurchasearemotecontrolorformoreinformation.)
Amillivoltthermostatisrequired.
Unplugthestovefromthepoweroutlet.
Thetwothermostatwiresconnecttothethermostatterminalblockonthelowerleftsideofthebackofthecontrolpanel.
Insertthetwowiresintheterminalsideandtightenthetwoscrewstosecurethewires.
Eitherwirecanbeinsertedintoeitherterminal.
Thermostat Operation
Afterproperlyinstallingthethermostat,movethemodeofoperationswitchonthefrontofthecontrolpanelintotheThermostat
mode.Plugthestovebackintothepoweroutlet.Youarenowreadytousethethermostatwithyourstove.
Thethermostatwilloperatethestoveina“High/Low”mode.Youwillstartyour
stovefollowingthestandardlightingdirectionspreviouslydiscussed.Youwill
thensetyourstovetothedesired“high”heatlevelsetting.Adjustthedamper
forthebestoperation;agoodstartingpointforthedamperisevenwiththeash
lip,whichisabouthalfwayout.The“high”levelcanbeanythingabovetheLow
settinguptothethirdheatlevel.
YOUSHOULDNOTUSETHEFOURTHORFIFTHHEATLEVELWITHATHERMOSTAT.
Whenthethermostatiscallingforheat,theunitwillrunontheheatlevelthat
youhavethestovesetat.Whenthethermostatisnolongercallingforheat,the
stovewillautomaticallycycledowntothelowheatlevelsetting.Theunitwill
remainonthelowheatlevelsettinguntilthethermostatagaincallsforheat.At
thattimetheunitwillcycleuptotheheatlevelsettingthatthestoveissetto.
Keepinmindthattherewillbeathree‐minutedelaybetweeneachheatlevel
increaseastheunitgoesupeachheatlevelsetting.
Theunitwillcontinuetofluctuatebetweenthelowheatlevelsettingandthe
highersettingthatyousetthecontrolpaneltountilyoupushtheON/OFFbutton
andturnthestoveoff.
Theunitwillfollowthenormalshutdownprocedure.
IFTHEPOWERISINTERRUPTEDTOTHESTOVEANDTHEFIREEXTINGUISHES,THESTOVEWILLREQUIREMANUALRELIGHTING.THE“HIGH”LEVEL
MUSTALSOBERESET.

fittinglid.Theclosedcontainerorashesshouldbeplacedon
anoncombustiblesurfaceorontheground,wellawayfrom
allcombustiblematerialspendingfinaldisposal.Ifashesare
tobedisposedofbysoilburialorotherwiselocallydispersed,
theyshouldberetainedintheclosedcontaineruntilall
cindershavethoroughlycooled.
ASHREMOVAL
Makesurethefireisoutandthefireboxiscool.
Disconnectthestirrodbyremovingthecotterpinandpushingthestirrodtotherighttodisengagefromthemotorshaft.Liftthe
stirrodupandoutoftheburnpot.Cleanandremoveanybuildupthatmaybepresentonthestirrod.
Removetheburnpotinnersectionbygraspingitandpullingstraightup.
Emptyashesfromtheinnersurfaceoftheburnpotandscrapewithcleaningtool;makesureholesarenotplugged.
Vacuumtoremoveashesfromtheburnchamberinteriorandtheburnpotshell.
Openandclosethedampertodislodgeanyashesthatmaybepresent.
MAKESUREASHESARECOOLTOTHETOUCHBEFOREUSINGAVACUUM.

CLEANING
Interior Chambers
Thetwoashcleanoutdoorsinthefireboxcanberemovedforperiodic
cleaning.Thesedoorsallowaccesstothechamberbehindthefirebox.
Youmustperiodicallyvacuumashesfromthischamber.Dependingon
theamountoffuelyouburnandtheashcontentofthefuel,youmay
needtocleanthesechambersasoftenaseveryotherweek.Formost
people,onceamonthissufficient.Closelyobservetheamountofash
removedduringthefirstseveralcleaningstogetagoodideaofhow
oftenyouneedtoclean.
Whencleaningbehindthesedoors,beverythorough.Donotjust
vacuumwhatyoucansee.Youneedtogethighupinsideofthese
chambersandtotheleftandrightwithyourvacuum.Ifyourvacuum
nozzleisnotsmallenoughtogethighupinsideofthesechambers,you
shouldpurchaseanattachmentthatcan.
Theashdumpsliderplatescanbeopenedallowingtheashanddebristhathasaccumulatedinthecombustionchambertobe
brushedandscrappeddownintotheashpan.Thiscanbeaccomplishedasneeded,untiltheashpanbeginstofill.Oncetheash
panstartstofill,removetheashpananddisposeoftheashesinasafeandenvironmentallyfriendlymanner.See“AshDisposal”.
Ifyouburnalotofwoodpellets,youmayneedtoremovecreosote,whichcanaccumulaterapidlyundercertainconditions.Asmall
wirebrushcanbeused.Itisimportanttoremovethiscreosotebecauseitishighlycombustible.INSPECTBEHINDTHESECLEANING
PLATESATLEASTBI‐WEEKLYUNTILYOUAREFAMILIARWITHHOWASHESANDCREOSOTEACCUMULATEWITHYOUROPERATING
PRACTICES.Thecleanerthesechambersare,themoreefficientlythestovewillburn.Useasmallwirebrushtoalsocleantheinside
ofthechamberwalls,abovetheaccessdoors.
Blowers

Cleaning‐Overaperiodoftime,ashesordustmaycollectontheblades
ofboththecombustionblowerandconvectionblower.Periodicallythe

performance.Creosotemayalsoaccumulateinthecombustionblower.
Thisneedstobebrushedclean.Removingthestove’sleftsidepanel
(lookingatthefrontofthestove)willallowyouaccesstotheconvection
blower.Removingtherightsidepanel(lookingatthefrontofthestove)
willallowyouaccessthecombustionblower.
