STEP 1: READ THE LABELS ON THE LAUNDRY
•*See Pg. 5 for laundry labels.
STEP 2: PREPARING THE WASHING PROCESS (Switching the Washing Machine On)
•Press the (1) ON/OFF/RESET BUTTON to turn the washing machine on, off, and reset the
program.
STEP 3: CHOOSING THE WASHING PROGRAM (Program Selector Knob)
•Choose the program by rotating the (2) PROGRAM SELECTOR KNOB to the left or to the right.
•Washing programs are comprehensive programs that include all washing stages, including softening &
spinning (this does not apply to partial programs).
•Partial programs are independent programs. Use them when you feel you do not need an entire wash
program. (for more details on washing programs–SEE PROGRAM TABLE Pg. 4).
STEP 4: CHOOSING THE SETTINGS
•Most programs feature basic settings, but these settings can be changed.
•Adjust the settings by pressing the relevant function button before pressing the (3) START/PAUSE button).
•Functions that can be changed with the selected washing programs are partly lit (dimmed).
•Certain settings cannot be selected with some programs. Such settings will not be lit, and the button will
flash when pressed (for more details –SEE FUNCTION TABLE Pg. 5).
WASHING MODES
•NORMAL CARE –This mode is your basic/default setting)
•ECO CARE (4a) –This mode will save energy, washing time will be longer, and water consumption will be
lower.
•TIME CARE (4b) –This mode will save time as the program duration will be shorter, but it will use more
water.
•*When the mode has been selected the chosen Washing Mode will be lit.
SPIN (SPINNING RATE/DRAIN/PUMP STOP)
•To change the SPIN RATE, DRAINING, & STOP PUMP Press (7). Choose between min., low, med., & max.
•With the preset or selected Spin Rate, (7a) will be lit on the display unit.
•If you select Draining without Spinning, the symbol (7b) will appear on the display unit.
•If you select >>Pump Stop<<, the symbol (7c) will appear on the display unit.
•Select the >>Pump Stop<< (7c) option when you want the laundry to stay soaked in the waster from the last rinse cycle in
order to prevent it from creasing when you are unable to take it out from the washing machine immediately after the
program is complete.
•To continue the program –Press the (3) START/PAUSE button that would be lit. Water will then be drained and the final spin
cycle will be run.
CHILD LOCK
•To activate or deactivate Child Lock, simultaneously press the (7) SPIN & (10) START DELAY POSITIONS & HOLD THEM FOR
AS LEAST 3 SECONDS.
•The selection is confirmed by an acoustic signal and with a signal light (symbol (9) will be lit).
•As long as the child lock is activated, the program, settings, or additional functions cannot be changed.
•To select a new program, the child lock mode must be deactivated.
START DELAY
•Use this function to start the washing cycle after a certain amount of time has elapsed.
•Press the (10) START DELAY POSITION. --- will appear on the display (10a).
•If for example, you choose the display unit, and the symbol (10b) will be lit under the time.
•If the function (10) START DELAY has been selected, then the symbol (10c) will be lit.
•By Pressing the (10) START DELAY position, you can adjust the time in 30-minute steps up to 6 hours, and by 1-hour steps up
to 24 hours.
•If nothing is pressed for 5 seconds, the actual washing time will be displayed.
•To set the time to the end of the washing program again, Press the (10) START DELAY Position.
•The function is activated when (3) START/PAUSE button is pressed.
•To interrupt or change the start delay time, press and hold the (1) ON/OFF/RESET button.
•Press the (10) START DELAY position to select a new delay time and confirm it by pressing the (3) START/PAUSE button.
•TO quickly cancel the start delay, Press & Hold the Position (10) START DELAY for 3 seconds. The washing program will
resume.
STEP 5: SELECTING ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
* Activate/Deactivate the functions by pressing the desired function (before pressing the (3) START/PAUSE Button).
* Some settings cannot be selected with certain programs. Such functions will not be lit on the display unit, and when the
corresponding button is pressed, an acoustic signal will be emitted and the light on the button will flash (for more details –SEE
FUNCTION TABLE Pg. 5)
WATER+ (HIGH WATER LEVEL)
•Use this function to wash with a larger amount of water, and with two additional rinse cycles on some programs.
PREWASH
•Washing heavily soiled laundry, particularly with stubborn superficial stains.
•If you select PREWASH, add the powder detergent into the prewash compartment.

STEP 6: STARTING THE WASHING MACHINE PROGRAM
•Press the (3) START/PAUSE Button.
TIME REMAINING TO THE END OF THE PROGRAM or START DELAY time (if set) will appear on the display.
•Symbols will be lit on the selected functions.
•After pressing the (3) START/PAUSE Button, the Spinning Rate can be adjusted (except in the case of the
Sterile Tub (Self-Cleaning Program) & SPIN (SPINNING RATE/DRAIN/PUMP STOP), & CHILD LOCK can be
activated or deactivated, while other settings cannot be changed.
•If anything is flashing on the display unit, the washing machine door is open or not closed correctly. Close
the washing machine door and press the (3) START/PAUSE Button again to resume the washing program.
STEP 7: CHANGE OF WASHING PROGRAM OR MANUAL CANCELLATION
1. To stop and cancel a washing program, press the (1) ON/OFF/RESET Button and hold it for more than 3
seconds.
2. The washing program is temporarily paused when the time remaining until program completion is
flashing on the display unit . At the same time, the washing machine pumps the water out of the
washing machine drum. When the water is pumped out, the washing machine door will unlock.
STEP 8: END OF WASHING PROGRAM
•The washing machine will indicate the end of the programing with an acoustic signal and >>End<< will
appear on the display until the washing machine switches into low standby mode or switches off. After 5
minutes, the >>End<< sign will no longer be displayed.
MANUAL INTERRUPTION
•To stop and cancel a washing program, press the (1) ON/OFF/RESET Button and hold it for more than 3 seconds. Signal lights
will flash on the display. At the same time, the washing machine pumps the water out of the washing machine drum. When
the water in the washing machine is out, the washing machine door will unlock.
PERSONAL SETTINGS
•Basic or default settings for each washing program can also be changed. When you select the program and additional
functions, you may store such a combination by pressing the (3) START/PAUSE Button and holding it for 5 seconds. S C will
appear on the display. The program will remain stored until it is changed using the same procedure. Personal settings can
also be reset to factory settings in the user menu.
PERSONAL SETTINGS MENU
•Switch on the washing machine by pressing (1) ON/OFF/RESET button. Simultaneously press the (6) PREWASH & (10 START
DELAY positions to open the Personal Settings Menu. Signal lights for ECOCARE, TIMECARE, &WATER+ (HIGH WATER LEVEL)
will light up on the display unit. Number 1 will appear on the LED display, which also indicates the settings function. Rotate
the program selector knob (2) to the left or to the right to choose the function to change. Number 1 indicates sound settings
and number 2 indicates resetting of Personal Program settings to factory defaults. If the desired settings are not selected in
20 seconds, the program will automatically return to the main menu.
•Press the (7) SPIN (SPINNING RATE/DRAIN/PUMP STOP) position to confirm the desired functions and their settings; press
the (6) PREWASH position to go back one step. Acoustic signal volume can be set at four levels (1:0 means the sound is off;
1:1 means that the button sound is activated; 1:2 means low volume, and 1:3 means high volume). Choose the volume level
by rotating the program selector knob (2) to the left or the right. The lowest setting means that the acoustic signal is
switched off.
PAUSE BUTTON
•The washing program can always be stopped by pressing the (3) START/PAUSE Button. The washing program is temporarily
paused when the time remaining until program completion is flashing on the display unit. If there is no water in the drum
and the water temperature is not too high, the door will unlock after a certain period. To resume the washing program, first,
close the door and then press the key (3) START/PAUSE BUTTON.
ADDING/REMOVING LAUNDRY DURING WASHING MACHINE OPERATION
•After a certain period, the washing machine door can be opened if the water level and temperature are below a predefined
threshold. If the conditions below are met, then the electronic door lock is released, and the washing machine door can be
opened:
•Water temperature in the drum must be suitable.
•Water level in the drum must be below a certain value.
•To add or remove laundry from the washing machine during a program operation, proceed as follows:
1. Press the (3) START/PAUSE Button.
2. If all conditions for release of the electronic door lock are met, then you can open the washing machine door and
add or remove laundry from the drum.
3. Close the washing machine door.
4. Press the (3) START/PAUSE Button.
•The program will resume.
•* If you add a considerable amount of laundry during the wash, the laundry could be washed less effectively, since the
washing machine initially sensed a lower weight of a load of laundry and added a smaller amount of water. An insufficient
amount of water relative to the amount of laundry could also cause damage to the laundry (rubbing of dry laundry) and
washing time can be longer.
•Washing time will resume from the point at which the washing program was interrupted.
GORENJE WASHING PROCESS –STEP BY STEP (6-8) INTERRUPTING & CHANGING THE PROGRAM

Q: How long does a cycle take?
There are different modes, spin speeds, water
temperatures, and cycle intensities that can be
selected. The quickest effective wash should be
around 50 minutes, but different modes can take
up to 3.5 hours if desired. If the machine senses
that expelled water is not clear enough, it may
elect to go through an additional rinse cycle which
would increase the wash time. This helps to ensure
all impurities are removed resulting in detergent-
free clothes designed to be acceptable to the most
sensitive skin.
Also, note that these machines fill with cold water
to help prevent stains from setting into clothes.
Starting with cold water and gradually heating up is
proven to help dislodge stubborn stains and
provide the greatest wash quality and results.
While this is highly effective and desirable, it does
take time to heat the water up if you opt for a high
heat wash.
Q: What cycle should I Use?
Average use should select the ‘auto’ wash program.
The machine will fill water based on the weight of
clothes in the machine and adjust washing cycles and
time to match the load. The machine will adjust the
length of the cycle while in motion to adapt to the
laundry load. This mode defaults to about 1:45 based
on significant factory testing but tends to average
around 1:10.
Q: How much laundry can I put in this
washer?
European laundry works most effectively when the
drum is full. The general rule of thumb is about 7kg
worth of dry laundry, the rough equivalent of a full
laundry basket.
Q: What soap should I use?
A powdered detergent, with high efficiency and
low suds-ing qualities. We recommend brands like
Forever New or Persil, but any cold-wash detergent
promoting the above will provide great results.
Q: I’ve heard that front-load machines
can start to smell?
This is an issue that has been resolved in modern
manufacturing as a result of water lingering in the
rubber seal of the door. If you do notice an
undesirable scent, simply run an empty wash cycle
with detergent and select the ‘sterile tub’ setting
to create a high-heat wash that will eliminate any
residual water odor or bacteria. Any high-heat
wash will do this naturally during a standard cycle.
Q: Why do European washing machines
take longer than products built in other
parts of the world?
Gorenje, specifically, uses reverse tumble action in
the washing cycles to help reduce the knotting and
wrinkling of clothes. The transition from forward to
backward naturally has a stopping point which
increases wash load time incrementally each time it
transitions. These machines then have the option
to ramp up to as much as 1400RPM in order to
expel as much moisture from the clothes as
possible to reduce the drying time. These factors
combined with additional rinsing to remove
residual particulate can increase the total wash
time, but also directly increases the quality of the
wash.

Finding the specific settings that meet your
unique needs early on in the product life
cycle will yield you years of easy-to-use
laundry.
For general use of the standard wash and
dry features, you should budget for about
an hour and a half per wash or dry load,
which is convenient for when it comes time
to change your laundry loads over.

adjusted to the amount of laundry.
Mix (Mixed Laundry/Synthetics
-WARM)
3.5 kg Washing program for delicate clothing made of synthetic and mixed fibers or viscose, and for simple care of cotton. Observe the instructions indicated on the clothing.
Most garments made of synthetic fibers are washed at WARM.
Down Wear
(WARM)
**1/2 The washing program is suitable for pillows and jackets stuffed or padded with down. The wash takes place at a LOW TEMP. with a large amount of water, gentle
tumbling, and a gentle spin cycle.
Sports (Sportswear)
(WARM)
2.5 kg Slightly soiled sportswear made of cotton, microfibers, and synthetic fibers, at lower spinning rates and a brief final spinning cycle.
Sterile Tub
(Self-Cleaning Program)
0 kg The washing program is used to clean the drum, and remove detergent residues, and bacteria. To select the program, rotate the PROGRAM SELECTOR KNOB (2) to the
left or right to the Sterile Tub program. Additional functions CAN NOT be selected. *Please note, that the drum must be empty. You can add some distilled (spirit)
vinegar (approx. 0.05 US gal lqd (2dl) or sodium bicarbonate (1 tablespoon, 0.02 lb (15 g). This program is recommended once a month.
Rinse/Softening
(Partial Program)
/For softening, stretching, and impregnating the wasted laundry. Can also be used as a rinsing program, but without added softener. It is completed with additional use.
You can also choose (5) WATER+ (HIGH WATER LEVEL) by selecting the extra function.
Spin/Drain (Spinning

/Use the program when you only want to spin the laundry. If you only want to pump out the water from the washing machine, PRESS SPIN (7) BUTTON to select (DRAIN).

**1/2 The program is used to wash normal to heavily soiled clothes that require special care, such as those with sensitive skin or allergies. Recommended turning the
garments inside out, to thoroughly wash out the skin and other residues. You can also select the option to wash at maximum temperature and maximum spinning
rate.
Auto Wash
(WARM)
*MAX (8 kg) The washing program automatically adjusts the duration of the main wash & the number of rinses depending on the amount of laundry. Use for lightly soiled laundry.
No extra program settings are possible during the use of this function.
