Battery charging process
Plug the connection cable to a power source: 110/240V.
The LEDs will be green.
Plug the battery balancer connector into the related charger
socket (3 S).
The LEDs will turn from green (stand by mode) to red (charge
mode).
The LEDs will turn green depending on the charge state of the
single cells. When all the LEDs will turn from red to green, then
the charge is complete.
Disconnect the battery from the charger and then the AC char-
ger cable.
Preparation before use
To start using the transmitter you have to read the HoTT MZ-12
transmitter manual.
Battery installation
Fix the battery in its compartment using some hook-and-loop
tape. Place the battery so that the copter’s center of gravity is in
the middle of the frame.
Binding receiver and transmitter
Transmitter and receiver are already bound by the factory. In
case you wanted to repeat the binding process, go on as fol-
lows:
Switch the transmitter’s RF section off in the “Basic model
settings” menu (see transmitter manual)
Switch on the receiver and put it in binding mode, by press-
ing and holding the binding button (green and red LED on
the receiver are flashing)
Initiate binding in the transmitter’s “Basic model settings”
menu.
If the red LED of the receiver goes out within about 10 sec-
onds and the green LED is illuminated, the binding process
has been completed successfully. Your transmitter/receiver
combination is now ready for operation.
If the red LED is still lit, the "binding“ failed. In this case,
repeat the whole procedure.
The binding process is also described in the transmitter and
receiver manuals.

Transmitter switches function
The transmitter is already completely set for Copter. The trans-
mitter is configured on mode 2. To change the mode and to neu-
tralize the throttle stick, please read the transmitter manual. To
avoid an unwanted start of the motors, they must be activated
and deactivated by switch 1 on the transmitter. (Motor stop
function)
By switch 3 it is possible to change flight mode.
Attitude mode: The stick movement determinates the Copter
reaction on Roll and Nick. It allows a maximal angle of about 50°
at 100% of stick movement. Mode suggested for beginners.
The stick movements acts directly proportionally to Roll and
Nick.
Rate mode: The stick movement determinates the rate without
angle limit. Aerobatic mode that allows rolls and loopings.
Install the propellers only after having operated all settings on
the transmitter and the Copter, risk of injury!
Auto-flip function through switch S2
The auto-flip function allows you to flip your copter in a very easy
way. It is essential that you control in Attitude mode (function not
allowed in Rate mode). The auto-flip function is controlled
through the channel 6 with the switch S 2. Activate the switch
and within 5 sec move the nick or roll stick to more than 50% of
its course, then the copter makes autonomously a flip in the
selected direction. After the flip it is possible to have some little
position movements (<10°)
LED function head through S6
In the head of the HoTT Hornet there is a LED illumination of the
eyes. The color of the LEDs can be changed through a specifi-
cally programmed control S 6 on the channel 6 of the transmit-
ter.
Read the manual included with the Switch module SXM No.

Initialization of the gyro in the receiver
Once the model has been switched on, the gyro immediately
becomes active but still needs to be initialized. To initialize the
gyro, keep your model still when you switch it on. The calibra-
tion process can only be performed when the receiver is abso-
lutely still.
After 3 seconds in still position you will hear beeps emitted by
all motors. The signal tone can vary depending on the esc model.
These "wiggles" signal that initialization has been successful and
that calibration is complete. Always wait until the calibration pro-
cess has finished before starting to fly the model. The motors
will not start until the calibration is complete.
Installing the propellers
Warning
Risk of injury by rotating propellers in case the motors start.
Always unplug the XT-60 connector to the LiPo battery before
working on the propellers.
Install the propellers as shown in the picture below. Pay atten-
tion to install the proper propeller to each motor. The propeller
rotation sense is written on the propeller (R/L)! The image rep-
resents the copter seen from the top.
