Prepare your workspace before turning on your tool. Ensuring a clean and well-lit
workspace should always be the first step in using your Green Machine®power head
since cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
Clear the area before each use. Remove all objects such as rocks, broken glass,
nails, wire, or string.
Never operate your power tool in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or
dust.Power tools create sparks that may ignite dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away while operating your power tool.By operating
away from bystanders, you are reducing the risk of injury by minimizing potential
harm to people other than yourself. Additionally, you can avoid unwanted distrac-
tions which may lead to unsafe operations.
Never use the power head within close vicinity of any electric cables.
Avoid dangerous environments, and don’t use tools in wet locations.
Use the tool as it was designed.Do not use the tool for any job except that for
which it is intended.
Don’t use the tool in the rain.
1.2 PERSONAL SAFETY

Stay alert, watch what you are doing, and use common sense when operating the
power tool. Do not use the tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs,
alcohol, or medication. Not paying attention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.
Always wear proper protective equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, eye
protection, dust masks, non-slip safety shoes, hard hats, gloves, and hearing protection.
Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing, and
gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry, or long hair can be caught
in moving parts. Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair. The use of
rubber gloves and substantial footwear is recommended when working outdoors.
Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before insert-
ing a battery pack, picking up, or carrying the tool.Carrying power tools with your finger
on the switch could result in accidentally turning on the tool causing injury.
Recycle symbols. This product contains lithium-ion
batteries and should not be disposed of with household
waste. Check with your local authority or retailer to
determine the best recycling and disposal practices.

Use the power tool, attachments, etc. in accordance with these instructions,
considering the working conditions and the work to be performed.Use of the power
tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Do not use the power tool if the switch does not work properly.Any power tool that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
Turn off your power tool and remove the battery pack before making any adjustments.
This may include clearing jammed material, changing accessories, storing, or servic-
ing the appliance. Unexpected actuation of the appliance while clearing jammed
material or servicing may result in serious personal injury.
Do not allow persons unfamiliar with these instructions to operate the machine.
Use the harness to support the weight of the product and make it easier to handle.
Keep your power tool in working condition with regular maintenance. Check for
misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition
that may affect the power tool’s operation. Follow instructions for lubricating and chang-
ing accessories. Inspect the tool periodically, and if damaged, have it repaired by an
authorized service facility. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.
Always hold the power head with one hand on the rear handle and the other hand
on the front handle.
Do not use solvents or cleaning fluids to clean your product.Use a blunt scraper to
remove grass and dirt.

pery handles and grasping surfaces do not allow for safe handling and control of the
tool in unexpected situations.
Store idle tools indoors. When not in use, appliances should be stored indoors in dry, and
high or locked-up places – out of reach of children.

Recharge only with the Green Machine®chargers.
Power your equipment with the Green Machine®battery pack only, models
GMBA6200-25 or GMBA6200-40. The use of any other battery packs may create a
risk of injury and fire.
Keep the battery out of reach of children and in the original package until ready to use.
Check that the power switch is off before inserting the battery pack.
Remove the battery from your power head when not in use.
Do not use a battery pack or appliance that is damaged or modified. Damaged or
modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behavior resulting in fire, explosion, or
risk of injury.
When the battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like
paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws, or other small metal objects, that can make
a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together
may cause burns or a fire.

Always check your machine for external tools.To avoid injuring yourself or harming
your machine, check to make sure all adjustment wrenches, rotating tools, and other
external devices are properly detached from your Green Machine®power head.
Never run with your power tool, especially if it is turned on.
Keep all parts of the body away from the cutting attachment. Do not attempt to
dislodge anything from your machine while it is on. Ensure that your hands and
face are far from any moving parts before powering your machine on.
Do not grip the power tool on any non-insulated metal surface on the machine.
Keep a firm, tight grip on the power head throughout use.Never attempt to use the
power head with one hand.
Don’t overreach. Keep your balance by maintaining a firm stance and footing.Always
be sure of your footing, particularly on slopes or stairs.

Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.
Never service damaged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be
performed by the manufacturer or authorized service providers.
Never open the battery charger yourself. Have repairs performed only by a qualified
technician and only using original spare parts. Damaged battery chargers, cables, and
plugs increase the risk of an electric shock.

Keep hands away from blades.
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain. Do not remove cut material or hold
material to be cut when blades are moving. Make sure the switch is off when clearing jammed
material. The saw chain continues to move after the switch is turned off. A moment of inatten-
tion while operating the extended-reach pruner may result in serious personal injury.
Carry the extended-reach pruner by the handle with the saw chain stopped. When
transporting or storing the extended-reach pruner, always fit the saw chain device cover. Proper
handling of the extended-reach pruner will reduce possible personal injury from the saw chain.
Hold the extended-reach pruner by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the
saw chain may contact hidden wiring. A saw chain contacting a “live” wire may make
exposed metal parts of the extended-reach pruner “live” and could give the operator an
electric shock.
Do not use the extended-reach pruner in bad weather conditions, especially when
there is a risk of lightning. This decreases the risk of being struck by lightning.
To reduce the risk of electrocution, never use near any electrical power lines. Contact
with or use near power lines may cause serious injury or electric shock resulting in death.
Always use two hands when operating the extended-reach pruner. Hold the extend-
ed-reach pruner with both hands to avoid loss of control.
Wear eye protection. Further protective equipment for hearing, hands, legs, and feet is
recommended. Adequate protective equipment will reduce personal injury from flying
debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.
Always use head protection when operating the extended-reach pruner overhead.
Falling debris can result in serious personal injury.
Do not operate a pole saw in a tree, on a ladder, from a rooftop, or any unstable support.
The operation of a pole saw in this manner could result in serious personal injury.
Always keep proper footing and operate the pole saw only when standing on a
fixed, secure, and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces may cause a loss of
balance or control of the pole pruner.
When cutting a limb that is under tension, be alert for spring back. When the
tension in the wood fiber is released, the spring-loaded limb may strike the operator
and/or throw the pole pruner out of control.
Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning, and changing the bar and chain.
An improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may either break or increase the chance
of kickback.

Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If
contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts the eyes, additionally seek
medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
In case of damage and improper use of the battery, vapors may be emitted. In the
case of vapor emission, turn off your device and seek fresh air away from the fumes. Seek
medical help in case of complications or overexposure to vapors to avoid damage to the
respiratory system.
Do not expose a battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature.
Exposure to fire or temperature above 212°F may cause an explosion.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. The cell may explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions.
Keep your battery pack clean to avoid a poor connection.
Do not keep batteries on the charger when not in use.
Keep the battery charger away from rain or damp environments. Water penetration
into the battery charger increases the chance of damage.
Before each use, check the battery charger, cable, and plug. If damage is detected,
do not use the battery charger.
Do not operate the battery charger on easily flammable surfaces (e. g., paper,
textiles, etc.) or surroundings. The heating of the battery charger during the charging
process can pose a fire hazard.
Use the battery only to power your power tool. Do not use your battery on other tools
or for any other purposes.

Cut branches only. Do not use pole pruner for purposes not intended. For example:
do not use a pole pruner for cutting metal, plastic, masonry, or non-wood building
materials. Use of the pole pruner for operations different than intended could result
in a hazardous situation.
Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles are
slippery causing loss of control.
Kickback is the result of pole pruner misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or
conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below:
Maintain a firm grip, with thumbs and fingers encircling the pole pruner handles,
with both hands on the pole pruner, and position your body and arm to allow you to
resist kickback forces. Kickback forces can be controlled by the operator if proper
precautions are taken. Do not let go of the pole pruner.
Only use replacement guide bars and pole pruners specified by the manufacturer. Incorrect
replacement guide bars and pole pruners may cause chain breakage and/or kickback.
Follow the manufacturer’s sharpening and maintenance instructions for the pole
pruner. Decreasing the depth gauge height can lead to increased kickback.

NOTE: Follow the process in the section “5.1 Connect the pole saw attachment to the
power head” to install the extension tube between the pole saw attachment and power
head (Fig. 3). Once assembled correctly, the pole saw attachment, extension tube, and
the power head should not separate when pulled. Always test the connection by pulling
on them. Repeat the steps above if the shaft can be separated.

Remove the tube protection cap before installation (Fig.2A, 1).
Loosen the wing knob (Fig.2A, 2).
Align the installation hole on the pole saw attachment shaft with the arrow on the
power head shaft, and push the pole saw attachment shaft into the power head shaft
until you hear a “click” sound, which means that the pole saw attachment shaft is
mounted into place (Fig.2B, 1).
Try to rotate or pull the shaft to ensure the installation is secure, if not, reassemble it again.
Tighten the wing knob firmly (Fig.2B, 2).

Press the shaft release button (Fig.4B, 1), then pull the attachment shaft or
extension tube out from the power head shaft and remove it (Fig.4B, 2).

Always exercise caution when using your pole saw, employing strict safety
measures no matter your level of experience or expertise.
Do not operate near electrical power lines. The unit has not been designed to
provide protection from electric shock in the event of contact with overhead
electric lines, consult local regulations for safe distances from overhead electric
power lines, and ensure that the operating position is safe and secure before
operating the saw chain pole pruner.
Always wear safety goggles or safety glasses with side shields during power tool
operation. Failure to do so could result in objects being thrown into your eyes and
other possible serious injuries.
Only use the attachments recommended by the manufacturer. The use of attach-
ments or accessories not recommended can result in serious personal injury.
Inspect the entire product for damaged, missing, or loose parts before each use.
Tighten all fasteners and do not operate this product until all missing or
damaged parts are replaced.
Switch off and remove the battery from the machine before adjusting, storing, or
cleaning. Keep in mind that the blades continue to move after the pole saw is
switched off. Never touch the moving blades.
Prior to each use, check that there is enough chain oil inside the unit. Without
proper oil levels, your pole saw will not function properly. To lubricate your pole
saw, follow the steps below.
See the “TO START/STOP THE POWER HEAD” section in the GREEN MACHINE
power head GMMT6200-PH operator’s manual.
6.3 TO CUT BRANCHES
Use great care when working close to overhead power lines. Falling branches
can result in shock or fire.
Reinstall the cutting guard and remove the battery pack after each operation.
NOTE: The pole saw was not filled with oil at the time of purchase. It is essential to fill the
tank with chain oil before use. We recommend using SAE#10W-30 oil or an equivalent
bar and chain oil from a hardware store.

Place the pole saw upright to ensure that the oil tank cap is facing upwards. Unscrew
the oil tank cap and remove it. (Fig. 5A)
Fill the oil tank with chain oil. The oil level should be above the “MIN” limit and below
the “MAX” limit. (Fig. 5B)
Close the oil cap and secure it again.

Position yourself so that you can make the cut at right angles to the branch. Hold the
tool firmly in place to avoid possible bouncing or sideways movement of the tool.
Guide the tool through the branch using light pressure. If you force the cut, damage
to the bar, chain or motor can result.
Cut long branches into sections so that you have better control over where they fall.
Pay attention to the fact that falling branches can bounce in the direction of the user
after hitting the ground.
When cutting from the top of the limb, hold the bucking spikes against the limb being
cut to provide support during cutting. This will help prevent the cutting attachment
from bouncing on the branch.

Regular inspection is the most important step to proper maintenance. By follow-
ing the guidelines below, you can maximize the safety, durability, and effective-
ness of your pole saw. Should you identify any damaged or excessively worn
parts, replace them immediately.
Remove the battery pack from the pole saw before inspecting, cleaning, or
performing Maintenance.
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Never let petroleum-based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact with
plastic parts.
When cleaning the pole saw, do not immerse it in water or other liquids.
6.4 TIPS FOR OPERATION
7.1 CHECK BEFORE EACH USE
NOTE: For repairs and service, please work with an authorized service dealer, which can
be located by calling 800-541-7027.
Handles: Front and rear handles should not have cracks or other damage. They should
be cleaned and dried to ensure a firm grip.
Guide Bar: The guide bar should be straight and free of chips, cracks, or excessive wear.
Saw Chain: The chain should be properly tensioned, and all components free of cracks,
chips, or excessive wear.
Side Cover: The side cover should be free of cracks or other damage. It should fit tightly
to the pole saw body with no warping.
Battery Pack: The battery pack should be clean and dry, with no signs of puncture,
impact, or other damage.The contacts should be clean, dry, and free of debris.
Battery Holder: The battery holder should be clean, dry, and free of debris.
Oil Level: Fill the oil reservoir before use. Your oil level should always be between the
“MIN” and “MAX” lines.
Motor Cover: Check for cracks in the cover and debris in the air intake vents.
7.2 CLEANING THE POLE SAW
NOTE: This pole saw attachment is designed for cutting small branches. For the best
results, follow the precautions listed below.

Make sure you have a firm footing and that you can work without being hampered by
branches, stones, and trees.
Release the trigger on the power head as soon as the cut is completed.
When cutting heavy branches, where a partial cut may splinter and damage the tree,
proceed as follows:

Be aware of the direction in which the branch will fall. Branches may fall in unexpected
directions, and do not stand directly under the branch being cut.
Remove long branches in several stages so that you have better control over where they fall.
Work slowly, keeping both hands on the pole saw with a firm grip. Keep a good balance
and a firm foothold. Make sure that you can move and stand safely. Check the area
around you for possible obstacles (roots, rocks, branches, ditches) in case you have to
move suddenly. Take great care when you work on sloping ground.
Do not cut from a ladder or climb in the tree. It’s extremely dangerous.
Do not use the pole saw for felling or bucking.
Take great care when cutting a tree that is in tension. A tree that is in tension may
spring back to its normal position before or after being cut. If you position yourself
incorrectly or make the cut in the wrong place the tree may hit you or the product and
cause you to lose control. Both situations can cause serious personal injury.
To prevent electrocution, do not operate within 50 ft. (15m) of overhead electrical lines.
Ensure that no people or animals come closer than 15 m (50 ft.) while you work. When
several operators are working in the same area the safety distance should be at least
15 m. Otherwise, there is a risk of serious personal injury. Stop the product immediately
if anyone approaches. Never swing the product around without first checking behind
you to make sure that no one is within the safety zone.
If you encounter a situation where you are uncertain how to proceed you should ask an
expert. Contact your dealer or your service workshop. Avoid all usage that you consider
to be beyond your capability.

Never cut at the base of the branch as this will slow down healing, make the first
cut 150mm close to the main tree trunk on the underside of the limb before cutting
through the branch.
This will prevent the tearing of the bark, which could cause permanent damage to
the tree. Cut 1/4 through the diameter of the limb.
Make a second cut from the top side of the limb, outboard from the first cut. Contin-
ue the cut through the limb until the limb separates from the tree.
Make a final cut close to the trunk from the top.

Remove the battery pack and ensure that the pole saw has completely stopped
before performing maintenance or inspecting your pole saw for damages.
Do not touch the bar or chain with your hands directly. Wear gloves or wrap the
bar/chain in a thick cloth.
Always remove the battery pack from the product when you are assembling
parts, adjusting, cleaning, or whenever the pole saw is not in use.
The saw chain must be properly tensioned before use.
Do not over-tension the chain as this will lead to excessive wear and will reduce
the life of the bar and chain.
When the saw chain is new, check the tension frequently during the first two
hours of use as the new saw chain stretches slightly.
Wear gloves throughout the assembly.
INSTALL NEW GUIDE BAR AND SAW CHAIN
NOTE: Always use the specified bar and chain recommended by the manufacturer when
replacing parts. Make sure that there are no cracks in rivets, links, and cutters, and that
no rivets are loose, replace them if necessary. Make sure that the saw chain is easy to
bend. Replace the saw chain if it is rigid.

Turn off your machine and remove the battery pack.
Clean debris from the chain and guide bar with a soft brush. Wipe the pole saw
surface with a clean cloth moistened with a mild soap solution.
Remove the chain-sprocket cover, and then use a soft brush to remove debris from
the guide bar, saw chain, sprocket, and chain-sprocket cover.
Remove branch chips and other debris from the battery holder. Make sure the
contacts are clean and dry.
Wipe down the power head with a clean cloth moistened with a mild soap solution.
Never use harsh cleaners or solvents.
Always clean out chips, sawdust, and dirt from the guide bar groove when replacing
the saw chain.
Do not use any strong detergents on the plastic housing or the handle. They can be
damaged by certain aromatic oils, such as pine and lemon, and by solvents such as
kerosene.
Completely dry your machine before use. A damp machine presents a shock hazard.

Turn your tool off, remove the battery pack and allow the pole saw to cool. Put on
protective gloves.
Make sure the oil tank cap is firmly closed.
Position the pole saw attachment on its side on a firm, flat surface, so that the
chain-sprocket cover is facing upwards.
Loosen the cover screw with the socket wrench provided and remove it from the
sprocket cover (Fig. 6).
Remove the sprocket cover from the pole saw attachment.
Remove the bar along with the chain and release the used chain from the bar. Make
sure the bar pad and sprocket are free of debris.

Place a new chain in the slot of the guide bar, making sure the saw teeth are facing
the correct direction by matching the arrow on the guide bar (Fig. 7A).
Place the saw chain around the sprocket with the cutting teeth corresponding to the
direction of the symbol on the housing. (Fig. 7B)
Insert the sprocket cover and make sure the cover is securely seated.
Tighten the cover screw to secure the sprocket cover with the socket wrench provided.

Do not completely fill the transmission gear case.
Always remove the battery pack from the product when you are assembling
parts, adjusting, cleaning, or whenever the pole saw is not in use.
Wear protective gloves whenever maintaining your pole saw.
A properly sharpened saw chain does not require high levels of pressure to
complete the task.
Never use a dull or damaged saw chain. A dull saw chain cutter can lead to
increased physical strain and dangerous flying shrapnel.
Have the chain sharpened by a qualified service dealer if the teeth on your chain
have become damaged or dull.
Do not store or transport the pole saw attachment while it is running. Always
remove the battery pack before storing or transporting it.
Always place the guide bar sheath on the guide bar and chain before storing or
transporting the pole saw attachment.

NOTE: Check the saw chain tension. The tension is correct when the saw chain snaps
back after being pulled away 3 mm from the saw chain bar with light force from the
middle finger and thumb. There should be no ‘sag’ between the guide bar and the saw
chain on the underside.
To adjust the tension:
NOTE: It is important to regularly inspect the drive sprocket for wear and damage when
you are replacing the chain. Have the drive sprocket replaced by a qualified service
technician if any damage is found.
NOTE: The transmission gears in the gear case need to be lubricated periodically with
gear grease. Check the gear case grease level about every 50 hours of operation by
removing the sealing screw on the side of the case. If no grease can be seen on the sides
of the gear, follow the steps below to fill with gear grease up to 3/4 capacity.

Turn your pole saw off, remove the battery pack, and put on protective gloves.
Loosen the sprocket cover screw. (Fig. 8A)
Turn the chain tension screw clockwise with the socket wrench provided when the
chain tension is too low or turn the chain tension screw counterclockwise when the
chain tension is too strong.
Check the tension level by pulling the chain 3mm away from the guide bar with light
force. Your chain is at the correct level of tension if there is no “sag” between the
guide bar and the chain on the underside. (Fig. 8B)
Once the chain tension is correct, tighten the cover nut.

Position the pole saw attachment on a firm, flat surface so that the sealing screw is
facing upwards (Fig. 8).
Use the hex wrench provided to loosen and remove the sealing screw.
Use a grease syringe (not included) to inject some grease into the screw hole, taking
care not to exceed 3/4 capacity.
Tighten the sealing screw after injection.

Always exercise caution to avoid the sharp teeth of the chain, even when your
machine is turned off.
Clean the pole saw thoroughly before storing it. Store the pole saw indoors, in a
dry place that is locked and/or inaccessible to children. Keep away from
corrosive agents such as garden chemicals and de-icing salts.
Switch off and remove the battery before any troubleshooting.

This warranty applies only to products that have been properly assembled, adjusted,

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of
the following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or
current, use contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair, or alteration
by anyone other than an authorized service dealer. Further, the warranty does not
cover acts of God, such as fire, flood, hurricanes, and tornadoes.
Keep the original sales receipt for the length of the limited warranty period as proof
of purchase. Proof of purchase is required to obtain a warranty. The manufacturer
reserves the right to request a copy of the receipt to verify limited warranty coverage
in the event a warranty repair is made to the product.
Use reasonable care in the maintenance, operation, and storage of the product as
explained in the operator’s manual.
Transportation charges on products or parts submitted for repair or replacement
under this warranty must be paid by the purchaser unless such repair or replace-
ment is requested by the manufacturer.
Any defective product or part covered by this limited warranty will be repaired or
replaced at the option of the Manufacturer.
Product failures covered by this limited warranty will be scheduled and repaired
according to the normal workflow of the Authorized Service Dealer to whom the
product is delivered for service depending upon the availability of replacement parts

Encargue el mantenimiento de su herramienta eléctrica a un técnico cualificado

como clips, monedas, llaves, clavos, tornillos u otros objetos metálicos pequeños
que puedan hacer conexión de un terminal a otro.Un cortocircuito entre los termina-
les de la batería puede provocar quemaduras o un incendio.
En condiciones abusivas, puede salir líquido de la batería; evite el contacto.En
caso de contacto accidental, enjuagar con agua. Si el líquido entra en contacto con
los ojos, busque también asistencia médica. El líquido expulsado de la batería puede
causar irritación o quemaduras.
En caso de daños y uso inadecuado de la batería, pueden desprenderse
vapores.En caso de emisión de vapores, apague el aparato y busque aire fresco lejos
de los humos. Busque ayuda médica en caso de complicaciones o sobreexposición a
los vapores para evitar daños en el sistema respiratorio.
No exponga la batería ni el aparato al fuego ni a temperaturas excesivas.La
exposición al fuego o a temperaturas superiores a 212 °F puede provocar una
explosión.
No arroje la batería al fuego.La celda puede explotar. Consulte los códigos locales
para conocer las posibles instrucciones especiales de eliminación.
Mantén limpia la batería para evitar una mala conexión.
No guarde las pilas en el cargador cuando no las utilice.
Mantenga el cargador de baterías alejado de la lluvia o de ambientes húmedos.La
penetración de agua en el cargador de baterías aumenta la posibilidad de daños.
Antes de cada uso, compruebe el cargador de batería, el cable y el enchufe.Si se
detectan daños, no utilice el cargador de baterías.
No haga funcionar el cargador de baterías sobre superficies fácilmente inflam-
ables (p. Ej., papel, textiles, etc.) o alrededores. El calentamiento del cargador de
baterías durante el proceso de carga puede suponer un riesgo de incendio.
Utilice la batería solo para alimentar la herramienta eléctrica. No utilice la batería
en otras herramientas ni para otros fines.

aditamento, o la realización de cualquier operación con este aparato distinta a
las recomendadas en este manual de instrucciones puede presentar un riesgo

Utilice siempre las dos manos cuando maneje la podadora de pértiga. Sujete la
podadora de pértiga con ambas manos para evitar la pérdida de control.
Utilice protección ocular. Se recomienda utilizar equipo de protección adicional
para oídos, manos, piernas y pies. Un equipo de protección adecuado reducirá las
lesiones personales provocadas por los residuos que salgan lanzados o por el contac-
to accidental con la cadena de sierra.
Utilice siempre protección para la cabeza cuando maneje la podadora de pértiga
por encima de la cabeza. La caída de residuos puede provocar lesiones personales
graves.
No utilice la sierra de pértiga en un árbol, en una escalera, desde un tejado o
desde cualquier soporte inestable. El uso de una sierra de pértiga de esta manera
podría provocar lesiones personales graves.
Mantenga siempre los pies bien apoyados y utilice la sierra de pértiga únicamente
cuando se encuentre sobre una superficie fija, segura y nivelada. Las superficies
resbaladizas o inestables pueden causar una pérdida de equilibrio o de control de la
podadora de pértiga.
Cuando corte una rama que esté bajo tensión, esté atento a la vuelta a la posición
original de la rama. Cuando se libera la tensión de la fibra de madera, la acción de
rebote de rama puede golpear al operario y/o descontrolar la podadora de pértiga.
Siga las instrucciones para lubricar, tensar la cadena y cambiar la barra y la
cadena. Una cadena mal tensada o lubricada puede romperse o aumentar la posibili-
dad de contragolpe.
Corte solo ramas. No utilice la podadora de pértiga para fines no previstos. Por
ejemplo: no utilice una podadora de pértiga para cortar metal, plástico, mampostería
o materiales de construcción que no sean de madera. El uso de la podadora de
pértiga para operaciones diferentes a las previstas podría provocar una situación
peligrosa.
Mantenga los mangos secos, limpios y sin aceite ni grasa. Los mangos grasientos
y aceitosos son resbaladizos y provocan pérdida de control.
El contragolpe es el resultado del mal uso de la podadora de pértiga y/o de
procedimientos o condiciones de funcionamiento incorrectos y puede evitarse
tomando las precauciones adecuadas que se indican a continuación:
Mantenga un agarre firme, con los pulgares y los dedos alrededor de los mangos
de la podadora de pértiga, con ambas manos en la podadora, y coloque el cuerpo
y el brazo de forma que le permitan resistir las fuerzas de contragolpe. El operador
puede controlar las fuerzas de contragolpe si toman las precauciones adecuadas. No
suelte la podadora de pértiga.

Utilice únicamente barras guía de repuesto y podadoras de pértiga especificadas
por el fabricante. La sustitución incorrecta de las barras guía y de las podadoras de
pértiga puede provocar la rotura de la cadena y/o el contragolpe.
Siga las instrucciones de afilado y mantenimiento del fabricante de la podadora
de pértiga. La disminución de la altura del calibre de profundidad puede provocar un
aumento del contragolpe.
