Points to be observed during operation
a.) Make sure to apply correct operating voltage as low or damaged battery will lead to measuring inaccuracies .
Immediately after "BAT" is displayed, battery needs to be replaced
b.) Make sure to maintain unit properly and to operate it in accordance with the specification listed (do not throw, knock
etc.).
c.) Make sure that sensor and unit are always subjected to the same temperature, i.e. try to avoid holding sensor plug in
your hand for a longer periode of time as well as subjecting unit to an additional heat source as this may result in
measuring inaccuracies.
d.) The length of the measuring sensor (GTF300, GTF300GS) can be reduced as desired so that it will be fully operational
again after sensor has been broken. To do so, please strip both wire ends for approx. 10mm and twist well.
Measurements are not possible as long as wire ends are exposed.
Safety Advices
This unit has been designed, assembled and tested in accordance with the safety regulations for electronic measurement
devices.
However, its trouble-free operation and reliability cannot be guaranteed unless the standard safety measures and special
safety advices will be adhered to when using the unit.
1. Mains operation
When connecting a power pack to this unit, the operating voltage used has to be between 9 and 12 V DC.
Do not apply overvoltage!! Simple 12 V packs may have too high no-load voltage. Always use stabilised power packs.
Our special power pack GNG 10 guarantees trouble-free operation.
Bevor connecting the unit connector with the mains make sure that the operating voltage specified corresponds with
the mains voltage.
2. Connection of the unit to other devices has to be configurated very carefully (e.g. via analog output). Internal
connections in a third-party unit (e.g. connection GND with earth) may lead to unacceptable voltage potentials.
Please note: When operating the unit with a faulty mains power pack (e.g. short circuit of mains voltage in relation to
analog voltage) this may result in lifethreatening voltages at the unit (e.g. sensor connection analog output).
3. Trouble free operation of this unit can only be guaranteed if the unit is not subjected to any other climatic conditions
than those stated under "Specification". Moving the unit from a cold to a warm environment may lead to malfunktions
due the condensation. In such a case we recommend waiting to allow unit temperature to adjust to the ambient
temperature before re-starting.
4.If there is any risk whatsoever involved in running it, the unit has to be switched off immediately and to be marked
accordingly to avoid re-starting.
Operator safety may be a risk, if :
* there is visible damage done to the unit.
* the unit is not working as specified.
* the unit has been stored under unsuitable conditions for a longer time .
In case of doubt, please return unit to manufacturer for repair and/or maintenance
