8. Adjust the mask to your face by tightening or
loosening the side straps (Figure 4).
9. Clip the side straps together and turn the bat-
tery pack ON.
10. To check for positive pressure, place your
hand over the exhalation valves and exhale
gently:
—If the mask bulges slightly and no leak is
detected, a proper fit has been obtained.
—If the mask leaks air, adjust the tension
of the elastic straps until a proper fit is
obtained and no air leaks are detected.
11. To check for negative pressure, place your
hand over the cartridge and inhale gently:
—If the mask pulls closer to your face with no
leaks between the mask and your face, a
proper fit has been obtained.
—If the mask does not pull closer to your
face, adjust the elastic straps until no air
leaks are detected.
Maintenance:
Store the mask in a sealed (air tight) container to
increase the lifespan of the filter cartridges.
It is important to keep clean, functioning cartridg-
es and filters in your power mask. Replace them if
they become damaged, soiled or when breathing
becomes difficult.
Always replace the cartridge and pre-filter with the
NIOSH approved Grizzly Model H6892 pre-filter
and Grizzly Model H6893 Filter Cartridge.
